- 👋 Here is the last of the Dodge Charger! This is a 2023 Dodge Charger RT Daytona! The RT packs a 5.7L Hemi V8 with 370 HP and 386 TQ. Since this Charger also weighs 4,300 pounds, it's not really the faster car out there with a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds. However the Charger RT is peppy enough to have some fun in. Especially having rear wheel drive and an 8 speed automatic, the Charger is fun around town and sounds really good going through the gears! This Charger RT had the Daytona package with really nice black accents. You'll see HEMI on the hood, a nice black rear lip spoiler and a black strip over the trunk and blacked out roof. The interior was pretty nice with leather and alcantara for the seats and you got enough tech for the interior. The Charger is a very large sedan and pretty comfortable in all of the seats and there is plenty of storage space in the interior and trunk. Driving the Charger RT is what you'd expect. Smooth suspension and a nice exhaust sound. Not too much wind noice and the seats are very comfortable. If you are looking for a cool entry level muscle car the Charger RT is a fun option without breaking the bank. The Sublime green color also really stood out on this 2023 Dodge Charger RT Daytona!

for those worried about "not the fastest acceleration"
it's obviously no SP or HC, but it's a really good daily driver, still has more get up then 98% of other cars on the road, and you can use 89 octane lmao
Yeah good car for normal driving. If you want the real people a Scat Pack wakes up the experience so much! I'm used to my old GTR. So this 5.7 doesn't feel like anything from my perspective lol

I’ve never got why everybody gave the R/T so much flack for not being the most performance oriented car when dodge themselves never marketed it as a performance vehicle not to my knowledge anyway lol. It’s a good middle of the road car for beginner enthusiasts and or enthusiasts on a budget that are willing to modify to get more performance or save money to get the next trim level up. Great honest review btw.
Very true. I think it's because so many people who buy these brag about their V8 and talk a lot of smack that they smoke cars all day long in these. I even get comments from RT owners who say they beat cars left and right racing. So there is something about the RT where owners think they are the fastest car out there. Thats why I make sure to mention that in the video so people understand this is not a performance car. Just a good entry level V8 sounding car. Scat Pack and Hellcat are the really performance trims then can beat proper cars racing. RT's are going to be similar to basic 4 cylinder sporty cars like a Civic Si or GR86. Scat Packs will be up there with GT Mustangs, SS Camaro's and Supra
No, the Civic Si and GR86 both run over 6 seconds. Not a good comparison for the R/T. A better comparison would be to the SXT or GT which I have (in AWD)

As potentail first time dodge owner should I buy a R/T or GT? I currently driver a 2017 Toyota Camry Le
Just depends on the power you want. They weight more than a Camry so the RT will feel more similar in power even with a bigger engine. Also depends on the price you want to spend.
The Camry will last longer so if you’re just looking to swap and not get more power, I’d still with the Camry, but just depends on what will work best for you!
Personally I would have this over the hellcat because I don't need the extra power from the supercharged engine.
Good point for sure. I think the Scat Pack is the sweet spot tho since it packs enough of a punch to put you in your seat. And they aren't much more then an RT

Frostbite blue is darker than B5 blue. I got mine last year. Love the color. It gets lots of compliments. Sounds great, lots of power. No regrets.

I'm a 71 year old kid. Best car I ever had. At 73 mph she cruises on 4cyl and good gas milage. Punch it and it goes.
The first needed work is a limited slip differential needed from the Hellcat. Handles pretty good. Next year headers.

Not much is this same size. But the RWD M340i BMW is about $56k. Significantly nicer interior, better MPG, faster acceleration and better handling. Really just sacrificing trunk space. But I doubt most muscle car fans are interested in a Euro car. But the Cadillac CT5 V is about this money. Once again much faster sedan, better interior and actually pretty similar in size. No V8 sound, but It's about 1 second quicker to 60. So those would be the best alternatives

The comparable size/performance BMW is the 740i for $40k more. Similar for Audi (A6 55 +$20K), Mercedes (E 450 +$20K), Lexus (LS 500 +$25k). Only comparable in price is the Kia Stinger GT2, and again it is much smaller interior/trunk.
For an affordable big performance sedan, since the demise of the Chevy SS and Taurus SHO, the Charger R/T has been the best, if not only, option. Very sad to see it go, very glad I got mine last month.
Mustang GT and Camaro SS. Those are the only domestic muscle car equivalents to the Challenger/Charger R/T -- Rear-wheel drive, V8.

Yeah I'd agree mostly. But I'd go M340 tho for the B58. Then you'll really walk this car in performance. 330 would feel similar to the RT in acceleration. But definitely better tech, reliability and interior in the BMW

@@5.7SOCIETY B58 isn’t a 4 cylinder, but it’s a very reliable engine. That’s cool yours has that many miles! One of the rare ones considering Rams don’t have a reputation for being reliable.

@@5.7SOCIETY Older ones yes. However since 2020 Toyota has a stake in BMW. BMW is now ranked number 3 in reliability. So modern ones are solid. Chrysler products still have some work do tho it seems. RAMs specifically are pretty solid. But the rest are still getting there.
