Thanks for all your support!
My favorite parts were every single time TJ was like "I ACCEPT" - "DANG IT, DAD!"
That’s a good chunk of the book, my friend
Alex kissing Magnus was my favorite part (the chocolate one was hilarious and the under-the-blanket one made my heart squeal). I also really enjoyed getting to know more about T.J. And you are so right about it not seeming like we're done with this crew because there are still a lot of unanswered questions
Magnus Chase is not an action-oriented character. That's the whole point. He's not the son of the most powerful god, or the most intelligent or the most bloodthirsty. He's a healer. Having an action based showdown wouldn't have made _any_ sense at all.
+Karkat Vantas ah that would make sense.
*Thank you* Finally someone who gets it!
Thaaaaaaaank you! I cried a little bit with the "Magnusess" of the final showdown. Magnus wasn't a fighter, he was a caring and kind soul, and his fight against Loki showed us that
Say it louder for the people in the back 👏👏👏
Totally makes sense!!
Wait wait wait wait wait WAIT...WHAT IF ALEX MEETS NICO I WOULD BE SHOOK!
+Aurora Smith SHOOKETH
"SHOOOOOOOO-" **continues on forever**
OMGGG
Aurora Smith, *Gasp* yes!!!!!
OMG YES I NEED THIS NOW
I actually felt like these characters stories were pretty well ended. It's not like the Kane Chronicles (I'm still waiting for a legit sequel series). As for the ending. . . I know it's a tease for "The Burning Maze" and I'm so scared.
Well... Actually Rick wrote crossover series with Sadie, Carter, Percy and Annabeth cathing Setne.
YOU DIDN'T MENTION THE CHASE SPACE, IT WAS THE SWEETEST THING
I remember that I was crying because it was So sweet and cute!
How is no one talking about the fact that TJ IS AWESOME??!!?!!
TJ literally goes and greets every person who he sees on the streets of York
"Hello! I am from Boston! Thanks for not supporting the Confederacy!"
Book #2 was for sure my favorite, and I think mostly because of Hearthstone! I loved all of the jokes about him signing like when they try to wake him up he signs "I am not here" and while they're skiing he signs "on your left" hahahaha! OH and in book #2 Magnus yells, "You heard him!" as in, follow Hearth's orders, but Jack yells back "no I didn't!" LOL I cackled at that for a good 10 mins =D
You forgot when he was giggling and signing "washing machine"! By far my favorite part if the entire series, gets me laughing just thinking about it! 😂
L Jen Rose LMAO YES!!! 😂 "drunk" Hearth was fantastic hahaha! Honestly the only parts in book #3 that dragged for me were the ones w out Hearth in it. I loved his story arch w his family, his sense of humor, just everything about him! 😊
freeleigh Yeah, Hearth is my favorite character from the Magnus Chase series. Maybe even my favorite Rick Riordan character... (sorry Percy)
L Jen Rose SAME! I mean i always thot percy was funny and all but i was never emotionally attached. I relate to Magnus'particular brand of sass on a spiritual level lol 😂 Hearth is for sure one of my fav characters of all time now!
freeleigh I love Rick's sassy/sarcastic characters, they have the best humor 😂
I freaking loved this book! Alex needs their own book series! Uhgggg why does it have to end whyyyyy
Lily Python I was like that after I finished
I hate Alex
@@thomascochran7907 seriously? she/he was my favorite!
Alaina Hershey She/he is so selfish. The story is about sacrifice but Alex never sacrifices anything.
@@thomascochran7907 Alex is a character whose arc was finished before the story even began. She's learned her lessons after the ordeal with her father, managed to resist the control of his stupid fucking mother, and through the book is really just passing advice and help to the other characters. She helps Sam get more comfortable with shifting, accompanies Magnus to Randolph's mansion to encourage him, does what she has to when it comes up, gives Magnus the courage he needs when it's needed. She's not meant to learn anything during the story, he's meant to be a vessel for the other characters to learn.
The ship of the dead,
What do we do with Alex and Magnus?
we *SHIP* them
What are they both?
*DEAD*
Uncle Rick u lil troll!
RIPTIDE X JACK I NEED THEIR FANFICTION
Me at the end of the book: "Riordan, this isn't over."
"Riordan? Ri-Ri-RIORDAN!? RICK RIORDAN GET BACK HERE! THIS ISN'T OVER! YOU AND I BOTH KNOW, THAT THIS STORY ISN'T OVER, AND GOD(s) DAMMIT I'M NOT WAITING UNTIL RAGNAROK FOR YOU TO COME OUT WITH THE NEXT ONE!"
*inhale*......So, Apollo, how are things going on your end?
Magnus meeting his grandfather was the most amazing scene in this book
My favourite book is Ship of the Dead, mostly because of the final showdown. I love that Rick made Magnus a healer and not a fighter, something that you see constantly throughout the trilogy, and the fact that he won his battle just by praising and loving his friends was such a special moment (I actually started crying while reading it)
My favorite moment is the bagel kiss moment:” I’m not going to kiss you are you Tj?”
I'd say my favourite is Hammer of Thor, and also I'm pretty sure that Annabeth crying relates to the Trials of Apollo series, which is running parallel to Magnus Chase
The Hearthstone dad situation. By far my favorite part, which is also true for the second book.
I JUST MANAGED TO GET OVER THE ANNABETH PART AND NOW I'M CRYING AGAIN. THANKS
I believe that Anabath cry has something to do with the next book of Apollo series
I've waited for your review and I agree with everything! But what about TJ? We got to really know him in this book and found out more about him and I just love that
I loved how he went to Everyone in England and was like "thank you for staying neutral"
Typing this comment as it watch the video -
Riptide and Jack yes!!
I love Fierrochase. I love their relationship.
I loved learning about the other characters too :D
THE CRYING WAS FORESHADOWING FOR THE BURNING MAZE (TRIALS OF APOLLO) I THINK!!!
I'm glad you mentioned the Annabeth crying because that has me really freaked out too.
Just got interrupted from watching Loki/Tom Hiddleston videos to watch this and now I have to pretend I don't like Loki again lol
Sarah R ive never related to anything this much...like...im sorry i cant disslike loki bcs TOM FREAKING HIDDLESTON made that impossible
elisona agalliu I remember reading Ship of the Dead and just getting to the part at the end with the big insult showdown and being like "Wut nooooooo Loki's a jerk but he's not the kind of guy who would stand in front of a child and scream at them, he's a precious cinnam- oh right this isn't marvel whoops"
Sarah R i was like "tom would never use these insults" 😂😂😂
Sarah R I relate to this wayyyy to much
Fierrochase. That's it.
1. Honestly, same here. I kinda wished Riptide talked now so that we could see her thoughts on Jack (and Percy bc we all know how long they've stuck with each other).
2. ah, heh, um, I thought his cameo was perfect because we all need to move on from Percy's character. He's been in nine books (plus two crossover, demigod files, and demigod diaries). We've seen through his entire childhood journey. I mean, he's going to college now. It's time to pass that torch.
3. yes, fierrochase. Also, I didn't even realize the Malec and fierrochase name correlation until Christine's booktalk. Malec/malex? Their first kiss gave me so much nostalgia to the Percabeth moment in Battle of the Labyrinth.
4. Didn't even know what Ramadan and I'm glad that learned about what it is now. I am most definitely not as strong willed as Sam. Props to her. MAJOR props to her and her religion.
5. I loved the subplots of all the supporting characters, especially since it gave more insight as to what they really stood for like with TJ and Mallory. She killed all the slave giants (don't mind me, having name brainfarts rn), and TJ really got upset with that.
6. That ship was honestly made for Christine.
7. That part of the story just glazed over my mind, partly because I didn't want to see the pain in Hearthstone.
8. When it came up, I thought that was supposed to show up in the first two books like with Percy being able to talk with aquatic animals. Oh well, more open endings?
9. Magnus is not a fighter, and I don't he ever will be even with Jack. He's the son of Frey, so he's a healer. I was disappointed with the flyting because of the fact that it didn't seem like the mead did anything to him. Magnus could've easily said that about any of his friends any day. The trouble in getting the mead and it not doing anything in the end _on top of_ the gods having their own stored kinda ruined it for me. I'm starting to see a pattern, and I don't know if I still like it.
10. The Burning Maze is in May and it's on the same timeline as the Magnus Chase trilogy.
Favorite moment: Either when Magnus first drinks the mead and tries so hard to sound poetic (and fails at it) or "I'll be honest. A small part of my brain thought, Alex is male right now. I have just been kissed by a dude. How do I feel about that?
The rest of my brain answered: I have just been kissed by Alex Fierro. I am absolutely great with that."
Favorite book: Book 2, mostly because we got a wider scope on the world and people. Also, we got Alex. Have I mention how much I love the fierrochase ship? Because I do love the ship very, very much.
I agree all the way! Book 1 was my favorite. Book 2 would come after, and then book 3.
I know what you mean with Percy. HE IS EVERYWHERE! Not that i don't like it, but i liked how he and Annabeth to Magnus are other responsability, but still cute couple. And I liked the chocolate kiss to. I love everything about the series.
I read the whole thing and i regret only reading the third book and not the ones before
The shipname is Beatrice according to Rick but it’s also known as Fierrochase. Also, Magnus’ bi was showing the whole book and I loved that
@@wooyeah1738 Actually, Magnus is pan.
You're my new favourite RUclipsr, I only recently found your channel last month but my God I am in love. You inspired me to get back into reading, I'm also getting Illuminae&Gemina for Christmas along with many others you recommended. Keep it up Jesse!! 😊
You gotta read trials of Apollo to know why Anabeth was crying. And I’m sure people who read the third trials of Apollo book is still crying to this day....
YES FINALLY A LIVESHOW ABOUT A BOOK I'VE READ
Christine uploaded yesterday, you uploaded today. I AM BLESSED
My favorite book is the 1st one, but still this is the best trilogy of Uncle Rick's books. It was great to see that Uncle Rick knows about the Ramadan and Turkish Baths. I hope that the Magnus Chase series continue...
That's the most favorite book ever
When you're here in 2019 and you know exactly why Annabeth is crying and you were crying too because of it😭😭😭😭😭😭
I feel like Annabeth had been crying because of that upcoming attack on the camp Jupiter mentioned in the dark prophecy. Maybe Leo has warned the demigods of camp Jupiter and... I can't wait anymore for the burning maze!!! I'm super excited about it, and... I just want it right now!!
Please don't spoil.
Completed the series just now. Now my life has no meaning.
Rick Riordan has to make another series where all the characters from Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Kane Chronicles and Magnus Chase meet and intertwine even more and they all go after the one insanely strong god there’s new romances and new ships and new characters
Am I the only one here that thinks that Léo should break up with Calypso and Nico should break up with Will ( don’t kill me I love Nico and Will) and they both become a thing and they go on a solo adventure?
Like Infinity War for Rick Riordan? Let's hope.
Were you...Loki...Disappointed with the ending. I'm sorry
Frankly AmaZhang delete your account. That was THORibble
I'm sorry
+Frankly AmaZhang omg you win best comment
@@asitas who's Frankly AmaZhang?
heh heh, I was secretly hoping Loki would win the flyte (don't hate me lol)
I feel like the characters from this series will be in Trials of Apollo, so I'm super excited for that
Let's hope that this will happen and Rick is not going to troll us.
I wonder if Bianca Di Angelo was reborn as Percy's baby sister. Nico did say his sister choose rebirth in the Son of Neptune book so it would make sense for that maybe
"Oh gods, I vaporized you!"
My favorite is Ship of the Dead, Sword of Summer, and my least favorite (but it's still good) is Hammer of Thor.
OTPs:
Magnus/Alex
Sam/Amir
Halfborn/Mallory
Blitz/Hearthstone
and now that you offered Riptide/Jack I can never unsee it.
This trilogy is my favorite too💙
I know this book has is issues but I really liked it
bit late but my favourite is Hammer of Thor!!! HEARTHSTONE IS PURE, UNABASHED ALFHEIM GOLD
Did you guys know that next August a Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief Illustrated edition will be released!! I love this fandom.
+brandon meacham whoa! didn't know about that!
www.hypable.com/lightning-thief-illustrated-edition-cover/
In the end Annabeth was crying because Jason Grace died in the Trials Of Apollo series
I just wanted to say I recently read your “Dear Death” letter in Because You Love To Hate Me and it really spoke to me. Thank you for that.
I agree that this is my fav trilogy 😊
Omg I've been waiting for this for so long
I think the confusing ending with Anabeth will be resolved in the Apollo series. So if you want to know the resolve you need to catch on lmao :D
FIERROCHASE IS LITERALLY THE BEST
JESSE I WAS WAITING FOR THIS
I know, a lot of people are like, “I love Percy he is the best, this is the best series!” But I’m over here loving Magnus more!
Same! There's just something about Magnus that draws me there more than Percy does!
I can relate.
NOW WE KNOW WHY ANNABETH'S CRYING
LaureLeaf JASON DIES
Magnus Chase the Ship of the dead is my favorite book because it is the final book and where they actually train with magnus and percy and at the ending of the second book Annabeth says that it is time you meet percy like holly **** bro that is so cool and the fact that magnus finally caught loki offguard is such a fun book to read amd also rick riordan said that magnus chase was a story "mainly" for magnus so I kinda do't understand on why you would want percy to stay on this book because rick riordan said that percy would be a small thing on the book and not as a main or one of the main characters. And also I really loked the second book because they have to find a weapon from the nine worlds to stop the ragnarok but the weapon has been lost for thousands of years and gees that is hella tough to find, but I would still consider the ship of the dead as my favorite book since it just broke the pattern of rick riordan books being the last books specifically the last olympian and the blood of olympus were really disappointing so I am gonna have to say that this book broke the pattern because it was so fun to read it and a "lot"of things happened on this book that was reaaly important and was not on the other books. By the way I got 59 out 77 on the book addiction test on buzzfeed #just saying not bragging bro but I hope you change your oppinion about this book because this book deserves more love than any other books #seriously
I absolutely loved the flyting just the way it was since Magnus is the healer in the group. He’s not the most powerful or the most intelligent. He just heals. He’s the son of the god of summer, and I’m glad Rick made Magnus into the way he is because a lot of books always have those who have a lot of power as the main character. I loved how Magnus brought positivity especially since he was a son of Frey instead of insulting Loki. I definitely loved this book more than the second. We got to explore more of the characters’ history and I just enjoyed it a lot more. I wish we got more of Magnus rather than just a trilogy. The ending with Annabeth does worry me though... I need to read the Trials of Apollo series ASAP
I love your bookshelfs soooo much 😍
I loooooved that book ❤️
Jack+reptide= Jacktide
adorable
Edit :
Plot twist: Polandbananabooks aka Christine is the captain of big banana
She’s crying because of Jason.....
Now I'm crying because of Jason...
Ashley oh
When Magnus and Alex kissed in Niflheim♡♡♡♡♡♡
This was my favorite book in my favorite series
I have my suspicions about why she was crying. HUGE SPOILER FOR BURNING MAZE!
I think it might be because Jason dies...
Alex first came in book 2
My favorite is The Sword of Summer.
My fave definitely was Hammer of Thor
I love your videos Jesse! Thanks for always making me smile🙃
it is also my favourite book of rick riordan
3 years later still waiting to see magnus again
Kind of late of me, but once I read what happened in the burning maze I finally realized why Annabeth was crying at the end
The second book was my favourite :)
And yes I was a little disappointed by the finale but I still loved it.
I LOVED THIS BOOK ITS AMAZING ❤️❤️❤️
Funny, I'm in the car to go to the bookstore when you upload this.Nvm, I'm watching this first
Omg! I am early, just so excited for your thoughts of this book😊
Alex Fierro is the best Riordan character right after Nico di Angelo
I think you it want to read Rick Riordan’s other series "Trials of Apollo". It should explain more about some of the things that deal with Annabeth. And I have a theory that the 3rd book in that series will explain why Annabeth is crying in this book.
I think annabeth being sad over the phone is hinting to something in the bueno maze (the trials of Apollo)
Every of my known is just like: "Stop talking about Magnus!"
I've even made my own little Jack...
I know I'm late, but have you read the Kane Chronicles series by Rick Riordan? This one is about the Egyptian gods instead of Norse or Greek, and there's a crossover with Percy Jackson made by Rick Riordan that takes place after both series.
Ive only read the first book and I loved it!
To find out why Annabeth was crying you'll need to read the Trials of Apollo series. I won't spoil it but these two series tie in together a bit more than expected
What happend about anabeth and percy in the last chepter in the ship of dead ? PLS
I 💙 book 1
When he said *This book sucked me in!* I thought he was going to say *This book sucked!*
It’s funny to me because I read all the trials of Apollo books first so I know what annabeth is crying about and when I read it I was like uncle rick why do you do this to me
I think the talking to animals part was supposed to have the reader do some research or have prior knowledge. In Norse mythology, there was a myth about a hero that killed a dragon and got its blood in his mouth. Then he was able to talk to birds who told him about his adoptive father planning to betray him. I just learned about that and everything just clicked when I did.
The hammer of Thor was my favorite I just couldn’t with that book I love it so much
My favorite is actually book 3! I loved this one, I think it has such funny lines, but still told a great story. It was a little slow at first, but once they got on the big banana, which I thought of Christine too! LOL! it picked up and they were going someplace crazy to someplace else crazy. I didn't really like Alex at first, but I did like Alex toward the end. And my favorite scene was probably when Percy told Magnus that he should have been practicing with Annabeth the whole time. It was so cute! And we need another book Uncle Rick!! We need to know what was happening to Annabeth! GAH!!!
Ahhhh the hair line ahhh lol
I need to read the final book
Annabeth was crying because one of her friend Jason grace from heros of olympus died and she just got the news about it.
do we need to read pjo series first to read these series? are they are related?
Amir Ma'ruf There are very slight crossovers that you might feel a BIT out of the loop for, but other than those it's not related. If you do want to read pjo and heroes of Olympus at some point though, you should definitely read them first because it will make much more sense chronologically (I do recommend both of those series). If they don't interest you, though, then go ahead with magnus chase :)
I agree about the ending of this one. Like, WHAT THE HECK RICK RIORDAN!?!?!?!?!?!? STOP DOING THIS TO US!!!!!
U r lucky u have DAT book......:(
i read this after i read the burning maze (trials of apollo)...
....jason died. thats why annabeth was crying
My parents are really confused of why my brother is obsessed with video games and I'm obsessed with books😂
Didn’t Alex was introduced in Book 2
I’m pretty sure she is cause my sister only has read the first one and doesn’t know the famous Alex
So they only know each other for 2 full books and finally got together
Kinda fast-yet my favorite ship
ooooh, i think you're right. the books blend together in my mind! haha
i just finished reading this book and i was really angry and sad when i heard that this book is the last book in this series ,i was expecting a five book series like the percy jackson and heroes of olympus
Need more of BLITZSTONE~ 🐥
I finished reading this book around 10 minutes ago and I came here to share some of my thoughts.
In second book I wanted Magnus and Alex to get together so bad. And I kept wanting them to be up until the moment where Magnus accidentally drinks a little bit of dragon's blood. The way all of them treated him after this moment gave me one big "what the hell, people?". They acted like they didn't even care!! And later when it turned out they had this amazing plan that they made without telling Magnus. It just made me so mad I can't even put it into words. Plus Alex literally told Magnus that they were working on this plan for a while and he didn't know just because he wasn't smart enough to find out. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I really hated the way they treated and acted around Magnus. I really wish Annabeth was there with them because she wouldn't do that to him.
P.S. I really need to know why Annabeth was crying at the end. It was probably a moment that hit me the most since she's such a strong character and I never thought I'd read about her crying. She probably feels so helpless and I. need. to. know. why.
#Fierrochase ❤❤❤
'Bout time
