Dig out your vestibule. Put a hole in the snow inside the vestibule. It lets you sit in a sitting position inside the vestibule and put your shoes on. It lets you get inside the tent easier.
All beautiful but that’s not how you test stuff for winter. Get this tent and hike up 1 mile from the car at -10F. Get there 3pm and start. All flaws from your equipment will come out. I use $60 Mamaya tents for winter. It has no meaning unless mountaineering in storms. Winter tent must be open or everything will be wet. Tent is not there to keep you warm as everyone thinks. Nice video. Wish you showed the setup.
It looked like a great trip, thanks for sharing that! Is that an updated version in the last year or two? I had bought a Trango 3 end of 2020 and the color on the fly has changed, mine was all red, yours, and what is shown on the MH site have the grey middle. I assume you researched the purchase as it is a spendy piece of gear, are you aware of any differences in your new model compared to the previous iteration? I didn't notice anything significant but have not actually had it out other than my yard.
From OutdoorGearLab: "Mountain Hardwear has recently updated its tried and true expedition shelter. They significantly upgraded the materials, making them lighter and more fire-resistant, while also making the doors larger. They've also increased the vestibule size while dropping the weight..." To me the improvements seem minor, a refresh on a time tested piece of equipment. Thanks for watching!
I'm not certain it would qualify as waterproof, that's usually atleast 2000mm hydrostatic head. Condensation between the fly and the tent did not soak into the tent material all the times I've used it since.

@@WavesTrails looking forward to your next video!👍
Is it water proof without the rain fly ?
