Considering the fact he doesn’t have the time to develop the settings of Dimension 20 into books, I don’t think so. He has said many times before that Planescape is his favorite setting ever though, so they might’ve come to him as someone to endorse it.
My guess would be they're still finalizing how the 2024 PHB mechanics with character creation affect gameplay and they didn't want to commit to anything, but this and Bigby's seemed to be more DM-focused than player-focused so maybe that's the other reason?
They just didn’t add any races at all, which for a new setting like this I actually don’t understand. With not book races you basically can’t play this setting without other books to provide the player races. Total flop in my opinion.
@@Tortle-Man Well, some books are for DM's and others are for players. This is basically a DMG for Planescape, a monster manual, and a campaign, so I wouldn't have expected much in the ways of player materials as it were. Planescape OG gave us Tieflings and we already had those from the PHB, and other planar races like Genasi and such already exist in other materials. I personally don't feel like there was a pressing need for more races because all the iconic stuff in its identity is already available. I do share the sentiment it would have been nice though.
@@AwesomeWookiee Same way stuff like the Simic Hybrid would exist, magic and magic users are weird. You sometimes have this come together in strange ways. Indeed, some wizard somewhere wasn't satisfied until he'd created a brand new form of sentient life.
I'd say it depends on the god. Not all gods have the raw power to exist across multiple planes of existence, but some of the heavier hitters definitely do and its probably a feather in a deity's cap to say that they can.
@VandalAudi Clerics work in Sigil as normal. Deities reside on Outer Planes, so there's no reason why Clerics would be somehow different in Planescape. There were some kind of rules with spell keys in previous editions, but I do hope they'd drop it
There aren’t any new races in this book at all. Which, to me, is a deal breaker. There are so many possible player races in this setting and we got exactly zero of them. Skip. A big skip for mez
I have tried so hard to get into 5E but the biggest drawback aside from me being more of a fan of Pathfinder's larger choice options is that none of the settings really intrigued me. I remember picking up an intro box to Planescape and I fell in love with that setting. I may not have had the same understanding as Brennen did but it was a setting that I was truly excited for. Sadly none of my groups really followed any settings at that time.

If I ever run a Planescape game for my group, Brennan is 100% making it in as a bard who runs an almond cart
With a mouth in his back and a friend who helps shovel those almonds in.
Maybe a side quest to find so golden almonds
Barnam LeManneson: the Snack Philosopher; The first almond a day gives 1d6 bardic inspiration…
@@nbn3045nono, a whole salami
make him that paladin/wizard/bard multiclass
This is a weird conflict between my desire to buy anything Brennan endorses and my desire to not buy anything from WoC ever again.
Buy second hand or buy old planescape books. The setting has been around a while.
What would Bill Seacaster do...?
I second the sentiment of "What would Bill Seacaster do"
This is a must buy. So incredible. Easily my favorite setting by a huge margin
ikr??? Seeing Brennan's joy in turn gives me joy, but that this is all promoting a product by the Pinkerton-hirers leaves me feeling... iffy??
I don't watch most of your videos. I will watch EVERY one of your videos with Brennan Lee Mulligan in it. What a wholesome boy.
I am chewing at the bit for a Dimension 20 Planescape series with Brennan as the DM.
"The most important thing is everyone is piped down" - i did NOT hear that the way he meant it the first time
I think my man meant to say Horizon Walker instead of Fey Wanderer, but great video!
Love you Brennen, so glad to see your excitement about this.
Great reference with, "its turtles all the way down."
Brennans enthusiasm has convinced me to get this set.
If you search it up and add pdf, a *terrible* thing will happen...
You won't be paying pikerton-payers!
eh no
wait is this confirmation that Brennan was one of the writers for the book? if so, I'm definitely going to buy it

I'd play a rogue modron, but apparently it wasn't an option? Or Bariaur? How'd that ball get dropped?
How the hell did they not make Modron an option?

Someone mixed up the Fey Wanderer with the Horizon Walker...
FINALLY A PHILOSOPHY BACKGROUND!
TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN, I love that book :0 also a great saying.
I would do a Damphir Plasmoid or Damphir Thri-Kreen
How about a Dhampir plasmoid? No orra how that would work, but it'd be interesting!

Here's an important question, how does clerics work in Planescape?
I'd say it depends on the god. Not all gods have the raw power to exist across multiple planes of existence, but some of the heavier hitters definitely do and its probably a feather in a deity's cap to say that they can.

I dont play D&D but I want to buy this.
What player options??
Wtf, apparently I can't buy the bundle from Brazil.
I remember my hopes being this high for Spelljammer. Can't see this turning out any different.
What happened with spell jammer?
is that an ooze dragon miniature on table o.O
Emerald dragon from WizKids!
There's no options. That's why this is a 3 minute video. They couldn't even make races in this one, at least sj had those.
I would build a char like Brennan
Free league gets such a bad rep from people but as far as philosophy goes I really do think they have a point
Am I blessed with first comment on a Mr Mulligan video?
I don’t know, do you BELIEVE you are thus blessed?
Transcendent Order, represent
2nd? yes turtles for everyone, tortle party!
I love Brennan, and I'm happy to see him taking WotC's money... but after the garbage products they have released lately, I'll pass on this.
Aye, I'd just look into the older books for lore inspiration myself.
