HVAC service technician here. They sell tablets to help clean scum out of condensate drains. All you have to do is put 1 or 2 in your condensate pan under the A coil. It will help clean up the trap and pump as well as prolong it from happening again. Just food for thought and cheap insurance.
I'll definitely take the hassle of maintenance over having to replace something for a couple hundred bucks. Definitely not a plumbing person myself, the extent of my maintenance is the P traps in the sink and installing wax rings for toilets. The latter is the worst thing though. I hate having to do that.
my hvac guy told me they dump about a pint worth of simple green (the cleaner) in the condensate pump a couple times a year to help clean some of the gunk out of it so thats what ive been doing

Having done a toilet recently and other maintenance issues. It sure beats paying someone to come and do it.
