- Stephania erecta is native to Thailand where it is found in thickets or forests with sparse vegetation. It sprouts from its caudex, which resembles a potato bulb. The plant produces vines that are very thin and delicate with deep green disc-shaped leaves. The effect is dramatic and adds to the plant’s appeal. This plant is also used for medicinal purposes.

I love beautiful leaf of stephania and greenness .
I grew my 3 stephania tubers in pumice and they grew like crazy.
I've heard if you place them in a plastic bag or a plastic box with a top the humidity will help them grow faster.
@@countrygirl4422 I stayed in Malaysia so I don’t need the extra humidity 😊 I placed them near my bedroom window ( east facing) and the bright indirect light encourages their growth. I watered them thoroughly once a week. The tubers also do extremely well in a mixture of fine pumice, lava rock and zeolite. This mixture is called rainbow rocks in Malaysia and is sold for cactus and succulents. No need soil ; and no danger of root rot 😊
Hi there, I planted mine recently in soil, two days ago. Should I move it to a more chunkier soil? Perlite and orchid bark? Appreciated!@@CoFFee123..
@@CoFFee123.. I am in Malaysia too. Do you do top watering or let it soak up?
@@rachelchong1529 I placed a small tray under the pot and watered from the top until water flows out and collect on the tray. Unfortunately I didn’t like the plant anymore and it died from neglect… the pumice was stone dry for long periods until the bulb became wrinkled and died.
Mine feels like died, it’s been like that for months n months now
Do you put a bag over them to increase humidity?
I don't put the bag on top, keep the moisture growing media
