I ordered the deluxe edition on Steam because I wanted the digital artbook and I wanted to support the developers. Suikoden 2 was one of my favorite JRPs back in the 90’s.

I already had pre-ordered this game. I want to support games like this even if I don't end up liking them. I never played Suikoden unfortunately. I'm hoping that this game doesn't taint my experience of Suikoden later if I end up disliking this game. Speaking of Suikoden, I wonder sometimes if I should just play it before the remasters come out. Who knows when the masters will actually be released? lol
I would wait for the remasters, but yeah I'm with you. I've wanted to replay them and there still isn't a date on the remasters so it's getting a bit annoying. I just hope Konami didn't do a terrible job.

I wouldn't wait for the remasters since the original Suikoden was from Konami lol. If you can get your hands on them play them as is.
Aleeady pre ordered (deluxe) I don't know if anyone can prefer random encounters it's a pretty outdated way of doing things and I'm glad they've become mostly a thing of the past. But I can endure it for this game.
Everything else is pretty hype I hope the characters feel developed but with the sheer amount I don't have high expectations.
Not sure if you played Suikoden, but they actually did a really good job of developing characers even though there were 108. Some characters are much more developed than others, which I think is a perfectly fine way of doing it. But even minor characters had an expanded on background due to a detective character you would get that would look into recruited character backgrounds.
@GameClouds Oh that's really neat. I started Suikoden 1 but stopped when the remasters was announced but now they seem to nowhere in sight I was debating just biting the bullet and binge playing them post Eiyuden
@@controlroomguy Go ahead and finish them. I'm doing suikoden 2 right now. If the remasters come out I'm gonna buy and go for a certain characters story that can only be done if you speed run(you have 20hrs, with a lot of the mini story being get here in x hours or you miss the whole story line).
They did a great job with character development in EC Rising and all those characters (9 that I can think of right now) will be in 100 heroes so I’m pretty sure they will be fleshed out.
Beware of Twitch. I spoil myself a little too much 😂 But what i see so far is very good. The only Thing i can complain is that the Music sounds very good, but don't reach the Evergreenstatus of a Suikoden 1, 2 or 5.
the party is only 6 plus 1 support, the 3 other call atendee and can not be used in battle and can not be switched to battle spots on the field explorations unless you got to some to switch up you formation. Also only story characters can go there. ie force characteres and or MC's

any romance in it?
Seems pretty unlikely. There may be couples within the 120 characters, but generally main characters in Suikoden did not have a romance, and romance wasn't a big theme.
