I "flew" a IV-P around the world in Microsoft Flight Simulator. I'm a pilot with advanced ratings and found MSFS to be surprisingly realistic. The IV-P is an amazing aircraft. It's not as easy to fly as a general aviation airplane but one you get used to it it's a delight. The power and agility are fighter-like.
the lancair 4... piston or turbine... is one of the most amazing planes ive ever seen. the numbers are unbeatable. I'd hate to build one... I'd never build one, but I'd love to buy an assembled one... and throw like a G600 in it... man if this plane had the G1000 it'd be the best single in the woorld
Two of the people at my airport just died in this plane, but, I have to say it was pilot error. He was taking off and and engine failed and what he should of done is glide with flaps but what he did was start to do an impossible turn. RIP
Turboprop. It supplies much more power per unit weight as well as better high-altitude performance. However, a turbo-charged piston, like in the Lancair IV- P, does exceptionally well at a lower price.

what a great little aircraft.
Love it.
Nice aircraft.
I want one!!!
how much it costs this kit plane?
i hear that we have to spend about1500 hours to built it, is that right?
Is it really 345mph?? or is that unsustainable. What's max cruise?
Max cruise is 350 mph for 4 hours
@shotgunbrains13 GO AWAY, LANCAIR IS THE NEST PLANE EVER! GO GET SOME FRIENDS!
Shame this program died. No current product comes close.
