I speak English reasonably well, and I also speak a bit of French. German of course. I can read and understand Dutch as it is close to the German dialect my grandparents spoke. And that is pretty much it. A pity, when I was in school I could have learned several additional languages, but I was interested in other things at that time.
I always test my slingshots in the vise. Bands snap, but they always show signs (tears) pretty early, just inspect them every now and then. Plus, always wear safety goggles. A lash in the face is painful but harmless. A lash in the eye means blood, pain and hospital.
That slingshot looks very robust, practical and reliable -- all trademarks of a german orientated way of thought in terms of craftsmanship. It was also dramatically satisfying in how you introduced the 'butterfly' technique.
I do not use it in this video, but flat bands break earlier than tubes. It is faster, though. A good slingshot will give you several hundred shots with one set of bands, more if you draw out less far.
Greetings Mr Joerg: I'm your fan, every day I watch yours videos and enjoy it I admire your creativity and brings me memories when I was a kid and I believed that I was the number 1 slingshot shooter, well 30 years has passed and I making my own slingshots (works good I hunted a bird, lol ) Atte: VICTOR.
ive been shooting like this for awhile but with the sling shot sideways. and to help instinctual aim which i have developed i start with holding the projectile and pouch near my shoulder then pull the sling shot out to stretch the rubber.
Make a slingshot out of speargun tubing and try to do the butterfly!!! haha seeing a big buff german guy like you say "butterfly" makes me laugh. good Das ist gut!
ok thank you. i'll do that. i have another question where do you get thera band gold? i have searched everywhere and can't find it, everyone uses thera band and say it's the best.
Sir, your video is really awesome, and you really look like a Pro! is bad to see all those bad/trolling comments on a good channel like this tho. Also, i'm going to subscribe because i like this channel argoument. I have a question, where can i buy a good slingshot? I have to admit, i already have one, but, the rubberband has a little cut on it, and i'm afraid to break it if i pull it too much. What do you think? thanks for the attention! ;) Keep up the good work.
Years ago when I shot slingshots I used the butterfly stance not knowing what this was called. It came about because of the Wrist rocket with surgical rubber was the new product. The bands would not give enough power without this stance. I was also afraid of eye injury if the band came off.
ich glaube er meint deinen dialekt. find ich aber sehr symphatisch... du hast für die generation aber wirklich ein ziemlich gutes englisch. dein kanal ist übrigens toll. :) grüße aus bayern.
Actually your technique looks something like what I saw from the Japanese bow (kyudo). If you look at you tube - kyudo Japanese Bow you may agree with me. For them breathing & concentration plays a big part in their art. Is it the same for you & sling shots?
i shoot with either method, shorter like 2/3 butterfly for aiming and i can also pull full butterfly on my current bands. normal draw length extends band life because im not maxing them out, full butterfly maxes the bands out and is fun for when i need a little destructive potential at my fingertips.
@bigdongzachjones I legally own a Glock 17. It's easy enough to buy a gun. But you can't shoot it in the garden. And you can certainly not make it at home. I prefer my slingshots really.
about the butter fly stance, i would like to try it but I'm worried about the bands snapping and hitting me, is there any way to tell if the bands can handle it with out actually doing it and causing pain to my self and breaking my bands?
ich habe auch eine Spezial Technik, die heßt:Ich weis auch nicht wie sie heißt aber auf jeden fall schieße ich mehrere ´´Kugeln´´ auf einmal aus und es is wirklich cool und wirksam :D
JoergSprave First time I've seen someone making longbow style shooting with a slingshot. Is it any more accurate to use this technique? Does it work for moving targets as well as it might for static? As for the workout, I used the wrong straps and got a face full of rubber tube for a few of the efforts. Do you recommend a particular type of cord yourself Joerg?
I lived in Germany for a few years and learned a fair amount of German. Joerg speaks better English than I speak German. I bet he speaks better English than you.
surely you sell some of your models made, don't you? I'm interested in getting one that's made by you with your autographed signature on it as well. let me know please. thanks.
Joerg i have a question that is non- sling shot related. how many languages can you speak and what are they? here in canada i can speak english and a little french, but what can you speak. just curious.
@JoergSprave joerg, hi, i'm from brazil, i'm a great fan of ur job..can u answer me for how much time I can use the thera gold before it get a " shit " xD i'm buying a slingshot for R$100 it's near U$50...and I want to know if it's nice..for I don't spend my money free..sry for english..brazillian chindren don't learn english at school...and I've learned by my self, I don't like use tradutors..well cya stay nice!

Joerg, because of you,I love Germany! You have the spirit of a genuine german citizen! You are a true engineer!
I always test my slingshots in the vise. Bands snap, but they always show signs (tears) pretty early, just inspect them every now and then. Plus, always wear safety goggles. A lash in the face is painful but harmless. A lash in the eye means blood, pain and hospital.
@fartx211 The idea is to max out both on draw weight and draw length. Then you have the most powerful slingshot that works for you.
Depends on the thickness and length of the Thera Gold. You can make very weak bands from the stuff, but also hellishly strong ones.
That slingshot looks very robust, practical and reliable -- all trademarks of a german orientated way of thought in terms of craftsmanship.
It was also dramatically satisfying in how you introduced the 'butterfly' technique.

I want a Joerg Sprave action figure!
its special feature could be a button to press where he says "check out my special feactures"
I was 7 years old when you filmed this! you're literally my childhood
Probably the manliest man to do something related to butterflies!
Can do it with both slingshots, but the bands have to be cut a little longer. Should be about 25 cm from pouch to fork.
''It's also a great workout, belive me'' Made my day
So THATS how you are twice as wide in the shoulders. And chest. And pecs. And biceps. Good workout for sure.
just bought a slingshot because of you love em. n i love this technique
Came here to find out what butterfly was after watching his recent video about the machete bow. Wow joerg has changed! Keep up the good work
i noticed this seems to be your preferred style in other videos. i really want slingshot now...
This large, scary behemoth of a slingshot murderer is amazing when he says things like "Butterfly stance".
Greetings Mr Joerg: I'm your fan, every day I watch yours videos and enjoy it I admire your creativity and brings me memories when I was a kid and I believed that I was the number 1 slingshot shooter, well 30 years has passed and I making my own slingshots (works good I hunted a bird, lol )
Atte: VICTOR.
Joerg, when you do the butterfly stance you look indeed very much like a butterfly. Only thing missing are the antennae ;)
you make butterfly sound so badass
12 Jahre später - immer noch gut!
I'm new at slingshots... My accuracy isn't very good....
Your videos are excellent.
Thanks for uploading!!
This channel is great 👍
@paintworrior Answer: Yes.
I aim instintively, which requires practice but works well.
That looks like the technique you use when firing old asian bows. Looks realy nice!
so majestic !
sorry joerg im not a huge beast like you i cant draw like 6 million pounds
Idk slingshots are pretty low powered. Thereband gold is only around 30 pounds. I'm not strong either but I draw a 110 pound longbow
Great video as usual. I really enjoy your creativity and your knowledge. Truly professional at what you do and very informative. Thanks.
@NoobTubeMeXD You know, I am mature enough by now so I no longer brag around much. But I am fairly strong, believe me.
hmmmm i think if you maybe made the stainless steel part a more flexible material then that would give extra power to it... great vids by the way!!!
your good in making slingshots =O
Your really inspiring me to take up Slingshot hunting.
@bigderekkeene Good to know.
good looking slingshot
Very nice slingshot.
he is a badass, he might not think it, you might not think it, but he is a bad ass.
what a beautiful "Butterfly" i really wanna cry :'-D
i don't even know what that means, but to me, he speaks flawless english with a very understandable accent.
Dat badass look after you have fired a slingshot ... hah i love it
Nein, im Gegenteil, die Kugel fleigt dann "höher" über die Gabel.
ive been shooting like this for awhile but with the sling shot sideways. and to help instinctual aim which i have developed i start with holding the projectile and pouch near my shoulder then pull the sling shot out to stretch the rubber.

Das ist gut!
if your shooting a normal slingshot with flatbands do you have to shoot in the flip style
Für ein "Sehr Gut" im Examen hat mein Englisch aber gereicht, auch wenn das schon 25 Jahre her ist. Wie steht's damit bei Dir?
dude i would love to know how to get my hands in that rubber.. i love it
your a really strong man!
Perfect shot. Yes you have to do lota chin ups to master this shot. But, its perfect shot for long range shooting.
Your smile is awesome
ok thank you. i'll do that. i have another question where do you get thera band gold? i have searched everywhere and can't find it, everyone uses thera band and say it's the best.
what advantage does this have compared to just using a stiffer rubber band?
Sir, your video is really awesome, and you really look like a Pro!

@multilemonmonkey No.

Very entertaining! How do you aim when using the butterfly stance please?
thanks
Good god, did you get so ripped by stretching out all those slingshots?
Fly like a butterfly sting like a bee ;)
Can tube bands do this? And what kind would you need if you can use them?
i shoot with either method, shorter like 2/3 butterfly for aiming and i can also pull full butterfly on my current bands. normal draw length extends band life because im not maxing them out, full butterfly maxes the bands out and is fun for when i need a little destructive potential at my fingertips.

its funny to hear a man like you talk about buterflys
Is this dangerous for a beginner, i don't want a steel ball in my head.
Good vid
I was just watching your last cocothing video uncensored and i war thinking of you can make a video shooting in this style your strongest slingshots
I miss these old videos with the "if looks could kill" glance at the camera after each shot.
keep it up great vid Joerg ;0
Do you have to get different length and tapers of bands vs standard draw? Right now Im using Flatbands Theraband gold.
ok thank you, is it some what expensive? im a small 14 year old but i pull a 65 pound longbow, could i pull thera band gold?
I buy mine on ebay, lots of suppliers.
ich habe auch eine Spezial Technik, die heßt:Ich weis auch nicht wie sie heißt aber auf jeden fall schieße ich mehrere ´´Kugeln´´ auf einmal aus und es is wirklich cool und wirksam :D

finally! a weapon to use in case of a zombie apocalypse! haha!
i'm using my right hand to hold the slingshot, is that wrong?
I love slingshots i have a lot but this gy has like 10000 i would recomend the rist rocket
I love to see you shoot a 5' nocked atlatl dart using your Butterfly style shooting...
can u make a video on how to make that style slingshot?
on slingshots, presicion is everything, could be even lethal, and that's it´s weak point, how to improve it?
Damn, how much upper body strength you need to pull that off?
When drawing in front of my face, I aim by sighting from the pouch through the forks. How do you aim when drawing behind your head?
I lived in Germany for a few years and learned a fair amount of German. Joerg speaks better English than I speak German. I bet he speaks better English than you.
i Love your videos!! greeting from Norway! :D SUBRCIBED
what is the name of that slingshot???? and just curious is it available in stores???
Bei 1:08 zeigst du wie man die Schleuder zum zielen um 90° neigen kann, aber dabei scheinen die Bänder sehr verdreht. Hat das keinen negativen Effekt?
What is that slingshot called? and what tubes are those? Please let me know Im new to this and would LOVE to know
have you ever been injured while pulling back?
is the Barnett diablo better than the trumark SFXFO
that you use for the rubber on the slingshot?
surely you sell some of your models made, don't you? I'm interested in getting one that's made by you with your autographed signature on it as well. let me know please. thanks.
Joerg i have a question that is non- sling shot related. how many languages can you speak and what are they? here in canada i can speak english and a little french, but what can you speak. just curious.
This kinda reminds me of Yumi Longbow firing. Zen slingshot archery. :)
@JoergSprave joerg, hi, i'm from brazil, i'm a great fan of ur job..can u answer me for how much time I can use the thera gold before it get a " shit " xD
i'm buying a slingshot for R$100 it's near U$50...and I want to know if it's nice..for I don't spend my money free..sry for english..brazillian chindren don't learn english at school...and I've learned by my self, I don't like use tradutors..well cya
