A Walton Easter - Pt 2 - the Walton House has moved. The tree house has moved. And what’s up with the timeline? Where are the missing family members? Children, spouses? The Walton kitchen is different. What about the mill? The front porch swing? Why all these changes? Judy Norton (Mary Ellen Walton) explains what happened prior to this last Waltons TV reunion movie.

I went ahead and watched A Walton's Easter. I thought the house looked a bit different, but couldn't pinpoint exactly what! That swing of course definitely was placed differently. My goodness, Elizabeth's/Kami's hair!!! She is such a sweetie, lovely lady, but that hair ~ we all can only dream for such locks! I liked the Easter story. Poor Janet! That JB ~ such an unpredictable writer buying the cabin without consulting his wife. Typical oldest child!! I loved little Jimmy and his family. Gee, even I have to check the spelling of magnanimous!! And what a word choice! Magnanimous is a good word to describe everyone involved with the Walton's and the Walton's behaviors toward everyone no matter what! Not such a bad way to be: magnanimous! Lots of love to Walton's everywhere! 🧡🌷🧡🌼🧡🙏🕊️

Thank you Judy, for talking about this episode a Walton Easter. I also had noticed that the kitchen had changed and the Mysterious door had disappeared. I didn't pay that much attention to where the tree house and the mill we're located in relation to where they were in the series. I like other fans were also disappointed that Jonesy, John Curtis, Charlie and Cindy were not in this reunion movie. To me when they take out too many people it seems like there is a hole in the family that would not be there if all those people were in the movie. Thank you for explaining why the house was different and the front yard. That all makes sense now. I still wish that somebody could have come up with a 50th reunions for The Waltons and tribute it to the folks that are gone. But such as it is I'm thankful that you and Kami have been sharing with us different things from the Waltons behind the scenes. ❤

And speaking of retrospect-- If someone had said to you at the time you filmed The Homecoming, the pilot, that in the future, you'd be appearing to your fans on something called the 'internet,' and watched by those fans on a computer or their phone, what on earth would you have thought?! 😳 🤔 It's hard to even believe sometimes the changes we've seen since this beautiful series aired in the '70s, let alone the mammoth changes our parents witnessed from the time of the Depression-- the era of the series' beginning-- 'til now. Two questions:
    * Where or who starts the process of doing a reunion program? Does the network make the decision to do a reunion… does a series producer or director go to the network to make the request… something else?
    * Where did you all stay when filming the Easter reunion? With cast members coming from different areas, I wondered if everyone was under one roof (so to speak) to make transportation easier.

Thank you for all the interesting details of sets & filming & possible reasons why there were changings. Personally, I am happy to know that I saw changed swing direction, what happened to the mill?, tree in wrong/different place, no picture of the Judge at the Baldwins, & where's the kitchen pantry door & wasn't imaging them Whew! Thanks once again, Judy.

Thanks for sharing. I had questions about the timeline and why on the later reunion shows, like you mentioned here, why were all the children not mentioned or Jonesy and Cindy. I honestly didn't notice the differences in the set as much because things change over the years.😊 The updates on children and spouses were what I would've liked. Thanks for the info you share. I would still like to see you interview the actor who portrayed GW if you can make contact with him. "The First Casualty " is one of my favorites even though I get a lump in my throat every time I watch it.😢

Seeing that the cast all returned to me makes reunion specials truly special..especially ones with large casts such as The Waltons. The changes of the sets and such vs what we all grew up with in the main series run is a bummer though. The Baldwin sisters house and piano being one of them. Seeing grandma there was the best part given we all knew...you guys much more intimately, about what she had been going and gone through.
As for furniture tweaks...like the table...has anyone..or did anyone ever set aside or otherwise save key pieces of the set after all was said and done? I do hope so given the memories attached and the historical value regarding television.
I do hope you had a blessed Easter Judy...mine was definitely blessed for sure🙂

Your TV colleagues Barry 'Williams and Christopher Knight often talk about suspension of belief on their podcast and for me, that's part of what makes watching well-made classic television so much fun. Sometimes you just want to get away from reality. If you keep making them, we're going to keep watching them. Real or not.

Yes! But the realist in me thinks that with the current Waltons reboot movie series, we will never get another reunion of the original/classic cast. And honestly, without Ralph Waite, Ellen Corby, Helen Kleeb, Mary Jackson, Joe Conley, and Ronnie Claire Edwards, it just wouldn't be the same. The recurring cast was just as important as the regular cast, in my opinion.

I don’t want to be thinking I was getting forgetful and I am Glad you also talked the kids too ! Boy , to me anyway your sets were So Changed and The Baldwins set was a shock to me because it was always so elegant and when Jason was in one of the bedrooms it was elegant also this was really toned down a lot! The original sets were excellent! I was surprised seeing John Boy having a private spot to write at that was a surprise! New set too you are so Good at this man, I took one look at morning service and thought to myself you are probably freezing almost and how you even managed to say something without your teeth chattering is beyond me!! You Really All Earned Every cent of that paycheck!!You take care Judy and that part of the show still makes me cold brr ! 😉😃

My mom and I always pointed out the differences we watched it every Easter. This explains the tree house being completely incorrect in location. They rebuilt it so well we couldn't figure out how it was changed when that tree was obviously too old to be a new tree.
Sadly my mom a couple months ago had a very serious accident and is touch and go in a nursing home after 3 hospitals and 2 nursing homes so we aren't watching it this year. In fact this is the first of your videos I have watched in months because we watch them together and she can't do that right now.
And John Boy got married at like 50 using the math.

Happy Easter Miss Judy! I really enjoyed this. One major inconsistency thats always cracked me up was Elizabeths age in this movie. In a season one episode, The Sinner, Daddy says Elizabeth was 5 yrs old. Since the episode was supposed to take place in 1933, that made Elizabeth born around 1928. In 1969 , she should be 41 but here, she was 20 or so. 😂

Her memory was pretty much gone, she may not remember the story line completely, but she knew who everyone was. And sometimes she would say oh this would happen or that. But for the most part it was like she had never seen it before. She so loved it. I hope you had a good Easter, this was our first without mom. @@judynorton2598 It certainly does. When we were growing up our whole family watched the show. Mom of course loved it back then too. Her memory was just so shot towards the end of her years. She didn't remember it. We would watch the DVDs and then maybe a month later start again. She didn't really remember it each time. Certain parts she did, but for the most part she would say she had never seen this episode. It was such an honor to take care of her in her later years. Tough, but so very honored to be able to help her pass over. Growing up during the depression and her mom being a single mother of four who worked hard to take care of her kids. They had a boarding house for many years and grandma worked in mom & pop kitchens in town, mostly Greenfield I think. Not too far from Salinas. Good memories for all of us indeed.
