    A couple things not shown were removing the bottom bolt on the manifold, detaching the harness clips from the manifold, and turning the crank to close the open valves. The video gets to the point, though. I cleaned mine by hand but I might try media blasting next time!

      And those wire harness clips are a giant pain in the ass! The hardest part imo.

      definitely. I wonder where to get those adapters to fit the intake ports.

    Doing mine tomorrow when the gasket comes in. I might clean the injectors too. I have a small gizmo from eBay that allows me to sprays a solvent through the injectors. I’m also going to try oven cleaner

    Ive the 2ltr skyactive G. At low revs in 2nd she hiccups and hesitates. Those valves are the problem i think. Garages charge 6-700 euro to do the cleaning. Might try myself using a pick and scraper.

    Thank you for doing this video, valves came out really clean. please let me know the air gun blaster and the plastic adapted for the vacuum you are using . I recently clean mine but did it by hand and car runs like new but valves don't came out as the ones you did. Thanks and take care.

    How many Miles/KM did this car have? Thinking of doing a manual cleaning, my 2014 M3 has 121,000Miles/196,000KM never did this. Wonder how bad it will be, lol, my car idles at pretty low RPMs, I've legit seen it sit at 550-600RPM's idle and the engine shakes a bit and causes the car to vibrate a bit at idle, wondering if this would help?

      You could try to just clean the throttle body. I did it on a mazda 3 2006 with the same problem you describe and the car was running way better after.

      @@lafgreg i have a 2007 and recently having issues where the RPM would drop to 500 and raise back to 800-1k back and forth until it stabilizes back during braking at traffic stops and pressing the gas very lightly like less than 10% throttle it ill trigger the RPM to drop and vibrate roughly, thinking of doing seafoam cleaning+ walnut blasting+ intake cleaning, it's an old car at this point and the real milleage was tempered to 100k+ definitely not real mileage, will check the real mileage soon

      They can be that bad in 30k or 100k... think of this like the old 2 strokes engines in outboards and lawn equipment. ie if you drive like granny, carbon will build up much faster and clog your engine. (2 strokes like to be wide open and they ran much better if they were run wide open). If you RUN YOUR ENGINE (like floor it / drive it like you stole it / and get the engine hot) it will stay cleaner much longer. Anyone with DI should work to open up there cars a couple times a month. Still, you will need to do this around 100k to keep things running well no matter what because gas is no longer injected in the top which helps "clean" the manifold. Welcome to one of MANY eco-friendly technologies to conserve fuel and save emissions. $$$$$$

      Untrue. This is NOT a Skyactiv G or X engine. Also, note the brown varnish everywhere??? This is using low octane cheap fuel, cheap non full synthetic oil & filter change every 6,000 miles. The filthy engine bay is the giveaway that the owner was a pig. @@trocks4321

    Have you ever heard of someone having an injector problem after a walnut blasting?

    • @stanza77
      @stanza77 Год назад +2

      Valves should be closed when you’re blasting them blocking access to the combustion chamber. The Injector is in the chamber on a direct injection engine like these. The walnut blasting should have nothing to do with the injectors. I suppose it’s possible to have damaged the electrical wires or connections leading to the injectors by mistake while removing the manifold
