Lovely video scotty. But do you know what is the reliability of the third generation mx5?

Back in the day I admired your no bullcrap attitude in your videos towards certain brands, but lately I am beginning to think you just read whatever someone writes for you. I had Mazda 6 for 5 years now, all ok until last year oil chain snapped out of the blue. I do my own oil changes and all, i serviced many cars throughout the years and I always believed if you take care of your car engines will last. But these Skyactiv-d engines from Mazda are really nightmares to own like you would say. After my oil chain incident I of course did little googling I see they are plagued with issues like bad cams, oil dilutions due to miserable DPF regeneration programs, oil chain snaps are not that uncommon and happen without any warnings, and fuel consumption in reality is somewhere around 7l/100km and not 4,3l/100km (33mpg and not 54mpg). It is beautiful car doe it misses some fine tuning that you get from more mainstream brands, but these diesel engines are just plain junk and Mazda is shooting itself in the foot with them keep selling them without major reengineering. I will probably not buy not just Mazda, but any other alternative to mainstream brands due to these catastrophic design issues, at least with big brands you know what to expect and mechanics know how to fix it before it happens and usually for better price because there are so many instances.
Hi Scotty I love Mazda SUV CX5. But majority of the SUVs do not have enough passenger leg room at the second row - Specially when the driver is tall!! The proper leg room comes in BMW X5 or Toyota Kluger as examples.
Mazda has become a truly outstanding car company since parting with Ford. Seriously, what Mazda is doing now makes Mazda my undisputable number 1 Japanese carmaker, from a very proud Mazda 6 owner. I'm extremely excited for the future of this company!
I too am a Mazda 6 owner as of April this year. I looked at their history and loved what I saw, including the split from Ford. All their cars are good looking and the standard of finish in my 6 is most impressive. Fyi, I chose the 6 over the Jag XF range with no regrets. I too will be watching the company's future.
I was a signature away from buying a RAV4, but I’ve told myself let me test the CX -5 then I end up buying it within one road test, I’m glad for that 🙂
My best advice to you is to try to rent any vehicle that you would like to buy for a day and see what you think, because a dealership give you a limited time and distance to try out any vehicle, it’s all up to you brother what do you want, your budget, also family needs.
Are the ones made in Mexico Salamanca Plant as good as the ones made in Japan? Because I am having some trust issues about Mazdas that are assembled in Mexico since I just got one.
Question for you, I went to a mazda dealership to look at my BSM system that didn't get fixed when I had to take it in after a low speed rear end. The dealership quoted me at 2grand which I find quite high. Is that a fair rate? Mazda 3 2014 automatic
@@MicroDemisucks about those modules, since they sit behind the rear bumper,on both corners, one small bump and it’s done for. not sure how much fee’s go for. but i remember replacing the damaged modules and performing a “relearn”
The first generation CX9 was a joint venture with Ford and vertually identicle to the Ford Edge. Except the CX9 had more room (stretched about 6 inches to allow third-row seating), less weight (through the use of high strength steel), better handling (with a sporty suspention tune) and a more reliable (assembled in Hiroshima) V6 3.7L engine. Suposedly identicle twins, but the CX9 is tons better. Dont believe me; chech out the relative depreciation of the 2012 CX9 and Ford Edge on Kelly's Blue Book.
@Sblackfll I think he means virtually identical aside from the differences he mentioned before still... i dont know if that is considered virtually identical anymore
While I can agree, Ford greatly helped them. In fact many of the motors in Mazda cars from 2006 to 2011 are all Ford engines, and during this time Mazda managed to become a more reliable brand than even Honda.
Their full size luxury sedan is incredible. A friend of mine bought one and I was absolutely floored by how incredibly nice it was while looking totally normal (but attractive) on the inside.
I am on my second CX-9, and loving every minute of it! I got almost 300k miles on the first one. The second one had 80k miles on it when I bought it, and is currently going strong at 122k. Loving everything about them!
I have a 2018 CX-5, absolutely love it. I’m considering a CX-9. Are there any major maintenance costs I need to know about? Since you drove yours for 300k, I’m really curious about long term maintenance costs. Thank you!
Back around year 2000 i've always owned Toyotas. I went on vacation and rented a Mazda Protege. That changed my driving life. All these years i was driving around in a boring car. I now experience a driver's car. When i got back from vacation I bought a Protege that week. Kept it for 11 years. Sold on Mazda''s. Owned a 3 in later years.
@@gx4548 Nope...im sold on the company that has always put the driver first....not just getting around to it with a 3 cylinder turbo one off model...the regular Yaris is a yawner...
@@magicjnkie216 I worked on and drove a few yaris's and they were the chinsiest little toy car's I've ever seen, the control arms and suspension components looked like they came off an RC car. Plastics were awful on the inside and had the strangest gauge cluster I've seen (aside from the mini cooper). Anyways, the plus side was thst it was very lightweight and was one of the easiest cars to work on but only because there was nothing to it. Can't understand why anyone would want one though, nothing about it was appealing. It was an older model aswell so maybe they're better now.
@@gx4548 Yesl, I owned a Scion iA and it was fun to drive, however that was really a Mazda 2. I drove the real Mazda 2 with stick and that was a blast to drive.
We are on our third Mazda. My husband became a big Mazda fan after researching them and found they are one of the few vehicles made in Japan which reflects on its superior quality. We started with a Mazda 2010 CX7 and then a 2014 CX5 and now own a 2017 CX5. We intend to keep the CX5 for a few more years. Awesome vehicle...we have the soul red, beautiful! We get a lot of compliments on the car and color. (We did have it repainted but it was still under warranty and the dealer did it at no charge and gave us a rental for two weeks.) Oh and Mazda Canada has a great warranty...5 yr unlimited mileage!
I've owned two Mazda Cx-5's, a 2013 and a 2017. Both were great cars with many trouble free miles. I needed a mid-size truck however and traded the last one in on a Toyota Tacoma. I do miss the road hugging quality of the Mazda's.
@@byronlp Well it isn't really a "Mazda" the Isuzu doesn't pass U.S. regulations or maybe they just don't try to sell it here not too sure. Great looking truck though!
I had an '88 Mazda MX-6 GT Turbo. Loved the car. In the years that I owned it, the only problem I had with it was a broken stud on the exhaust manifold. After the stud was broken, when you started the engine, it would whine until it warmed up and would staop. The dealer said it was the turbo. I purchased a new turbo and was going to install it myself. I removed the turbo and then noticed the broken stud on the lower part of the manifold. I had to remove the whole manifold to get the broken stud out. I went and purchased new studs and gaskets for manifold and turbo. All was good. Returned new turbo (still in unopened box). All was good. The dealer would have taken me to the cleaners. Zoom, zoom zoom.
I had a choice between a 2016 Mazda 3. Or nothing when I went to go car shopping in June. No road test.. knew nothing about the car.. fast-forward to october, 7000 some odd miles later and I have just a handful of complaints mostly on small things. I can truthfully say that Mazda has won me over
@@blatnick81 that's great! What small things did you not like? I had mine cleaned recently and it looks like the guy may have sprayed my dash display and left some annoying small soapy water marks on the inside. From now on, I just clean the car myself. I also upgraded to JBL speakers to get a nicer fuller sound. Totally worth it.
@@joeylinares2853 most of my gripes are around design.. when I have a back window down.. I have to crack the one in front so it doesn't sound like a helicopter is trying to land on me. @@blatnick81 @A.J Blatnick believe it or not it's actually a good thing. Modern cars and trucks are more subject to air thump because they’re so aerodynamically efficient and well sealed against wind intrusion. Side mirrors usually affect the rear windows but opening both windows should take that away. As far as the bumps, I would recommend looking into different kinds of tires. Not sure if you're familiar with the Michelin Premier A/S grand touring all-season tire. These tend to be quieter than most.
@@joeylinares2853 I am not sure what tires I have I have to check to make sure they are all season before it snows here.. lol but over all I give my Mazda a solid 9 out of 10.
After a costly relationship with large Buick SUV, my wife came home with a 2017 Mazda6. I was skeptical but...it's her car. Four and half years and 85000 miles later, I am impressed. Sporty, efficient, and dead-nuts reliable. Just as tight today as the day it came home. She loves this car! We took it to the Great Smoky Mountains and had a blast. As much fun on Tail of the Dragon as my Mustang. My only wish would be to have the turbo version. The car is excellent, but the extra power would put it over the top!
I don’t have a lot of money. I bought a Mazda cx-3 that has that nice red interior feature. I can’t believe I have an AWD, good gas mileage, fun, sporty looking luxury car for such little money. It’s one of the best valued things I ever purchased in my life, I know it’s not a super car or hot rod but I’m so proud of my Mazda and it feels absolutely incredible
Exactly what I said about my carbon m3 awd hatch. Had 3k miles and I picked it up for 27k. You cannot find another car like it for the same price and damn near brand new.
Proud owner of a 2015 mazda 6 with 200k miles on it. Still drives like a dream and all the electrical has held up. The only non maintenance suprises was a high pressure fuel pump failing and the hydraulic belt tensioner leaking. Besides that it has been smooth sailing.
We just bought a new 2024 CX 5. The suspension is firmer than anything in this class, but there are no rattles and the cabin is very quiet. It’s also way more fun to drive than the CRV, Rav 4 and the Kia Sportage I tested. It’s not quite as roomy as those, but I don’t care. The difference is marginal. The interior on the Mazda is made of better stuff too.
I drive a 2016 Mazda 3, the interior is so nice, the exterior looks like the thing it's alive, no wonder mazda's slogan is feel alive. Mazda is one of the greatest car manufacturers in the world that heavily designs and focuses on high quality vehicles while maintaining such an inspiration in their cars. zoom zoom
My poor 2016 Mazda 3 isport is now totalled. Those side curtain airbags are no joke. I think the small amount of time I spent in the hospital can only be attributed to Mazda's safety features. I'm giving Toyota a try for the sake of longevity but I feel homesick. I just bought a Corolla today and my fingers are crossed.
My only experience with a Mazda was last year when my daughter's Odyssey got t-boned and needed replacing. She loved the Roque but research showed their transmissions are garbage and used vans (like the Sienna) are very expensive, even used. Ended up finding a very nice 2016 Mazda CX-5 with only 50K miles and she's very nice!
Unfortunately, I can not say the same for Mazda reliability. Based on all the information that I could find at the time, the 2015 Mazda CX-5 seems like a winner in the area of performance, style and dependability, so I purchased one. Outside of a stiff ride, blind spots, and the uncomfortable seats, I was good with the car (until I hit the 74k mark). For those who don’t know, there is a service bulletin on 2014-2016 CX-5 regarding defective transaxle units. In a certain serial number range (most of them) the casing of the trans was improperly machined which leaves a critical bearing misaligned. This misalignment causes the bearing to prematurely wear and fail in approximately 70-90k miles. Mine was one of those affected by this issue. Luckily, I still had 3 months left to the power train warranty otherwise I would be paying for the manufacturers incompetence (approx $5k). I am still waiting on the back ordered new unit, but will probably sell it the vehicle the moment the repair is complete. Not impressed!
bought an 2021 Mazda3 sedan Turbo PP a few months back and I'm loving it so far. not really much to complain about it. regular automatic transmission, AWD, turbo engine, & all the safety features it provides can't get any better than that IMO.
@@vsrap71 yea i really wanted the black on white but they sold it a day before I went to the dealership and they only had a white on black. Can’t complain tho I’m liking the white on black more and more as the days go by lol
I never clicked on a video so quickly! I love Mazda! I used to own a protege! Mazda has always done something different and unique. Thank you Scotty for making this video!
We are very happy with the handling and safety features on our 2019 CX5. On a recent 50 mile drive from our house in Little Rock to Bath House row in Hot Springs - half on Interstate and half over a winding hilly road - we averaged 38 MPG.
@@chestrockwell8328 X8 are more unreliable than any Mazda car mate. Rx8 only issue was oil lines and the renesis, was £1000 to rebuilt the lot yourself. They get the odd power steering issue but it's usually the connectors under the overflow. The X8 is just unreliable full stop, everything breaks on them.
Loved my RX8 handling, but the rotary had to be wound up to get it going leaving me in the dust against civics lol. The constant ignition coil issues was a drag. Still a fun car just too quirky with its mechanics.
I have a 10 yr old Mazda3 Sport and a 5 yr old CX-5. Love these cars and never had issues with them. Fun to drive too. I love that Scotty has started to warm up to Mazda since he wasn't a fan in his earlier videos.
Hi Scotty!! I bought a Mazda Cx-5 brand new back in 2015 as a 2016 model and have been enjoying that car since day 1! I normally change my vehicles every 6 to 10 years depending on how it goes with maintenance, and so far I haven't had any issues with my Mazda, I love it! It's excellent with fuel efficiency and has a nice throttle response! I'm already in the 6 years mark but my car is still strong, great maintenance prices and excellent fuel efficiency. I definitely recommend the CX-5 and I've already convinced other friends and family in purchasing it due to excellent price for car ratio! It's amazing all the cool features and quirks this car has for the price, specially compared to other Japanese cars that are more expensive. My Mazda already has 98 k miles almost reaching 100 k.
I have been looking to buy an AWD SUV for the Michigan winters and camping. Test drove the Forester, RAV4 and the Huyndai Santa Fe. The CX-5 was the last on my list and I am glad I had waited. Immediately fell in love with how the vehicle handled on the road and how solid the interior was. No other SUVs compared. Purchased the 2016 CX-5 immediately and never looked back. This SUV is truly an amazing vehicle. With over 80,000 miles I have never had an issue, just regular car maintenance. I love this car and hoping to keep it for many years to come!
I drive a 2004 Toyota Matrix. 17.5 years. 243k miles. I researched the heck outta vehicles before I bought my first new car. think I’m gonna get tired of it before it dies. With what I drive a year, I’ll have it for at least another 4 years. I want something new and I have my eye set on a Mazda CX-5. Prices are nuts now though. So I save money and I wait.
I love Mazda 👌 When I was looking for my first new car back in 2015, I came across the Mazda 2016 6 and loved as soon as I test drove it. 170k km and 6 years later I still love it. Looking forward to seeing what’s next for Mazda. I’m planning on getting a CX-9 soon
Last year I purchase a 2020 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve as my retirement gift. I've already taken a cross country road trip traveling 9,000 miles covering 14 states. I love my Mazda CX-5.
I bought a 2013 Mazda 5 new and still drive it every day. I have 117,460 miles and have loved this car from the first test drive. It's my first Mazda and I have yet to find anything comparable since they stopped making this mini minivan. I may never buy another car, unless this MX30 with range extender is as easy to get in and out of.
Scotty when you narrate something like this video you are a pro. These are some of my most liked videos you do, you are a pro and I know it is fun to joke around. So keep it up but I will always share these videos more in the long run. Great job.
My favorite has to be the 2021 MX-5 Miata RF grand touring. It has the body color retractable roof and also has all of the features. And such a thrilling sports car for less than 40,000 is amazing.
Bought a CX-5 a few months ago after my KIA crapped out on me at 102,000 miles. (right past the warranty) my first car was a Protegé and lasted 200,000+ miles.
Bought my wife a cx5, I test drive many other offerings , but nothing handled like the Mazda. The acceleration they can get out of a NA 2.5L engine is astounding to say the least. It’s a great vehicle.
The first car I got to work on was a 1976 Mazda 808 Miser. This was the first piston engine in a RX-4 body. The regular 808 was a 1600 cc engine and the Miser was 1300 cc. The first thing to go was the water pump. No previous experience. Remove belts. Remove long bolts that run thru the fan and spacer. Remove fan, spacer and bolts. Remove water pump, assemble everything back in reverse order. I'm glad my 1st DIY was so easy
It's a blast to drive. Something about it makes it "fun". Could be the roadster style with a smooth power curve or it could be the reliability and modern comforts. Overall, it's my favorite vehicle I've ever owned.

I had a Mazdaspeed 3 as the first car I ever bought. It was a great fun car. I got it from a guy who used to use it as an everyday driver and race car. Being driven hard was what it was meant to do and it pushed about 18-21 pounds of boost. It was a great car and fun as hell. I miss it all the time. Finally blew the head gasket after over 140,000 miles. Fixed it and sold it and got a 2009 Ford Escape with 49,000 miles on it for the exact amount I sold it for and I love the escape for what I use it for.
I owned a 2012 Mazda 3 that was super reliable. Now I own a CX-5 GT AWD, which is amazing in snowy weather, and super reliable as well👍👍👌 If you're in the market for buying a new vehicle, choose the mazda you like and don't look back. It will spoil you with reliability.....
i am thinking scotty did say that the rx series would not be a good purchase even less than 100k miles this video does not mention longevity, i dont know what the expeced mileage of a sports car might be i have a friend who drove an rx 7 into the ground and snow, with regular maintenance, it did not last over 100k miles, but it got close, that is purely anecdotal on only one experience! when one says 'good' it is helpful for me to know if the focus is on performance and/or longevity
Bought my Mazda3 back in 2010. The only things that have been changed are the tires, one rim (horrible Midwest roads) , MAP and MAS sensors. Plus, it has had routine maintenance for oil changes. After 12+ years and 90+k miles, it's still kickin' asphalt.
Owner of a 2014 mazda6 with 129k miles and it still runs like new no issues at all. Only thing I had to change on it was the battery and brakes. Plus the maintenance of the oil changes 😊 loving this mazda6 especially the interior 😍 it so luxurious for its year built and the awesome gas mileage. The transmission smooth like butter when it shifts.
I bought a used 2015 Mazda 3 with the sky active technology about a year ago. I had to spend $150 on a windshield motor that went out that wasn’t covered by the warranty I was given.Other than that the car hasn’t given me any issues and I’ve driven it in all kind of conditions. Mazdas are decent cars if you can live with the added ownership costs (maintenance and gas) compared to Toyotas and Hondas. You can probably get a good deal on a new one. You’ll probably get it cheaper than the other big two, last a really long time, and get a really good warranty since Mazda doesn’t really sell all that much here in the US. Just some tips for the random reader out there 👍🏻
The 626 two-door hardtop (2.0L, 5-speed manual, 1982, IIRC.) I bought new was an impressive car. I drove it for four years before selling it. Total maintenance cost? $11.35, as I changed the oil & fluids myself. When after two y I decided to coat the engine with teflon, the average hiway mileage rose 10%, from 36 to 40 mpg (Tested NYC to Memphis & then Memphis to NYC.) Later, I bought a Ford Probe (ca 1988, 2.3L, three-valve; thinking that it had Mazda genes). It was of similar quality. What a pleasure to own & drive for nearly 200,000 miles. Thank you for your history & diagnostic lessons, Scotty.
The rotary engine used for electrical energy generation won’t be used like a car engine. It will run at is most efficient speed constantly, and since it won’t be used continuously, it should last far longer than any of the cars they made powered exclusively by the rotary engine.
I bought a 16 Mazda 3 two years ago with 13k on it and love the 41 to 42 mpg I get on 72 mile drive for work. Took my wife to test a 21 CX5 Touring preferred and drove off the lot in a 21 CX5 Carbon Edition Turbo. I'm not a fan of Turbo's but the wife wins. Just hope it's as reliable as the 3. Now I want a 21 M3 in a couple years.
My wife loved her 2 MX5's--20 years of driving. Depressed? Put the top down. Need more space to haul yard sale finds? Put the top down. Had to replace the top on the first one; otherwise, no repairs. Friend who bought our first one, loves it; still no repairs--what gives? I'm old enough to remember the MG's and Triumph's were a FAR different repair experience. Great video, Scotty.
I've tested drive the kia seltos, VW tiguan and Mazda CX30. In the end I bought the Mazda CX30 because of the comfort and drive compare to the others. I've owned it for a year now and enjoy driving it.
I have had a number of Mazdas in my day. First was a dark blue 86 323 base model 4speed manual hatchback. Second was a completely optioned brown 89 929. Third was a black rx-7 with a B rotary. Fourth was a tropic emerald metallic 93 mx-3 GS with the 1.8 liter V6. My absolute favorite was the 323 because of its reliability. I bought it for 750 bucks, drove it for 5 years, sold it for 500 bucks to a guy who had no intention of licensing it. I saw it abandoned in coralville ia. Asked about it to the business it was parked in front of. Learned it had been abandoned. In a move I did, I realized I had a spare key for it. I discovered that I was still the owner!!! So I limped it home, put a set of brakes and a wheel bearing on it and sold it for another 700 bucks!!!
@@crazeyjoe My Mom bought a 1982 Escort new, changed timing belts on schedule and one still broke for no reason. It only bent one valve, cylinders & pistons were not damaged at all. @@jeffreydevoti7000 I agree. It seems as though the customers has spoken as timing chains are the norm except for a small handul of cars. Almost all are subcompacts.
@Sblackfll Those engines were in vehicles such as the Focus and C Max. In North America, other than the Mustang, Ford only produces crossovers, SUVs and trucks. None of which uses any engines smaller than a 2.3 liter engine. Therefore (here in North America), Ford no longer produces engines with timing belts.

The Cx-9 and s the best vehicle Mazda makes. The signature edition is a legit luxury car, and that engine and transmission are so smooth and responsive.

Thank God Mazda severed their way from Ford
The first generation CX9 was a joint venture with Ford and vertually identicle to the Ford Edge. Except the CX9 had more room (stretched about 6 inches to allow third-row seating), less weight (through the use of high strength steel), better handling (with a sporty suspention tune) and a more reliable (assembled in Hiroshima) V6 3.7L engine. Suposedly identicle twins, but the CX9 is tons better. Dont believe me; chech out the relative depreciation of the 2012 CX9 and Ford Edge on Kelly's Blue Book.
@Sblackfll I think he means virtually identical aside from the differences he mentioned before
still... i dont know if that is considered virtually identical anymore
While I'm glad too, I can't help but thank Ford for their work. Ford basically nursed them back to health after Hiroshima

My father still rambles about his old RX2 and how he wishes he still had it.

The Miata I my favorite, followed closely by the RX7.
The 626 two-door hardtop (2.0L, 5-speed manual, 1982, IIRC.) I bought new was an impressive car. I drove it for four years before selling it.

I’ve always wanted a CX-5 but now that have more information on the MX-30. I’m looking more into that.
Love my 2020 Mazda 6, and I get an average of 31+ MPG!
Frida's educational videos are my favorites of Scotty's channel😃
Grab your popcorn and enjoy everyone.
Do you have a link?

My wife loved her 2 MX5's--20 years of driving. Depressed? Put the top down. Need more space to haul yard sale finds? Put the top down. Had to replace the top on the first one; otherwise, no repairs. Friend who bought our first one, loves it; still no repairs--what gives? I'm old enough to remember the MG's and Triumph's were a FAR different repair experience. Great video, Scotty.
I had a Protege and loved it until I totaled it! I always enjoy keeping an eye on their cars. Someday I may need another.
Hey how are you?😘
I've tested drive the kia seltos, VW tiguan and Mazda CX30. In the end I bought the Mazda CX30 because of the comfort and drive compare to the others. I've owned it for a year now and enjoy driving it.
how was the drive on the vw and seltos?
Loved the 1979 GLC. Ran for ever
Absolutely Great Little Car, but just rusted out...
Have my CX9 for 3 years now and still I enjoy every moment of driving it.
I believe Mercedes does the same thing in their formula 1 cars. “Sky active”
Where did you read that?
No they don't. It's a mazda design and nobody other than yamaha know how it's done or are allowed to use it.
Still driving a 20year old 323f Still runs great 👍🏻 👌🏻
Hello Scotty. Hope you have great weekend ahead. These videos are extremely informative.
I think the 91 Escort was based on a Mazda. It would have been the perfect design if it had a chain driven cam. Had timing belt break for no reason.
At least they weren't the interference type that destroys the pistons.
@@crazeyjoe
My Mom bought a 1982 Escort new, changed timing belts on schedule and one still broke for no reason.
It only bent one valve, cylinders & pistons were not damaged at all. Got head redone, gasket set and new belt & tensioner run like a sewing machine.
The 91 blew a head gasket and broke belt, no valve damage but overhauled head, gasket set, head bolts, water pump and belt.
I never want to see a belt driven cam again.
@@jeffreydevoti7000 I agree. It seems as though the customers has spoken as timing chains are the norm except for a small handul of cars. Almost all are subcompacts.
@Sblackfll Which model(s) Ford 4 cylinder vehicles produced today still use timing belts?
@Sblackfll Those engines were in vehicles such as the Focus and C Max. In North America, other than the Mustang, Ford only produces crossovers, SUVs and trucks. None of which uses any engines smaller than a 2.3 liter engine. Therefore (here in North America), Ford no longer produces engines with timing belts.
I have a 2021 Mazda CX-5 Carbon edition, I love it. Zoom Zoom definitely! 31 to the gallon on the highway. Its also very luxurious without the huge price tag of a Mercedes or something else along those lines.
The Cx-9 and s the best vehicle Mazda makes. The signature edition is a legit luxury car, and that engine and transmission are so smooth and responsive.
Finally I love my Mazda CX-9. It’s just built so solid.
My wife is on her 3rd. Mazda 2. This time it is a 100 anniversary edition. We collected it from the Mazda museum here in Augsburg Germany.
I am totally a fan of newer Mazda's, especially the CX-5 crossover. I am only a fan of the older Mazda's, the Protege sedan and the MPV minivan.
The Mazda MPv I heard is just as crappy as the Honda Odyssey that’s something Toyota has edge over both Honda or Mazda still. 🤔
@@codybrandoncargle3129 Agreed
@@md2k8 I am glad you do agree. 👍🏻
I have a 2020 Mazda3 premium, and my wife has a CX-9 Grand Touring. We used to both have Toyotas but made the switch after we drove the Mazdas.
I’ve sold parts for years, it’s still hard to get parts on Mazda’s. No parts issues with Toyota though.
Where u be looking 🤔
I worked for Mazda. As a company they supported models for 30 years of age but there have been issues with rebuild parts for Ford supplied parts because they got a divorce.
Thank for for yet another quality content video. I own a Mazda MX-5 and now getting a CX5 as a family car (2022) cannot wait.
Hi, will a honda crv hold up longer than the mazda cx-5? Also, which has a more reliable trabsmission, and which has better awd?
Honda- mazda is great too though! Go with whichever one you like more 😊
okay
so the crv it depends
mosrt of hondas line up are CVT TRANSMISSION WICH MEANS (continouse variable transmission) .. in the most simple terms it means u have a GEARLESS transmission...
it has a life expectancy of about 80,000 or 5 years ..
all of hondas line up cars have this transmission except the CIVIC SI and the honda pilot and the accord sport
every other model has cvt =garbage
hondas transmission and engine will ware out way before ur warrantee is even over
i had a brand new civic brand new 10 miles only
in 5 years
not only did the battery die but so did my transmission and it costs more then 2 grand to fix
honda will give u financial burden and headaches...i let my garbage civic go and got a mazda 3 hatchback and love it
mazda is the only dealer at this point that does not use CVT transmission THEY USE 6 SPEED old sckool trnasmission wich is fast and a skyactive engine for the best fuel economy and effiecency
i had a mazda 20+ years and it still running
so when it comes to sheer reliability and comfort you just cant go wrong with MAZDA
Both are excellent, high quality vehicles!
@@akgonen60 yup! I have a 21 Mazda 3 & the 6-speed makes it so much more fun to drive than the CVT in my Civic
122,000 miles on my
2018 CX-9! Amazing car
