I have an iPad 4 and I will keep it until the end. It’s still useable now. Kudos to this unit for its battery just like what he said. Comparing to the iPad Air 2 and the iPad mini 4 that we have, my iPad 4 lasted longer in terms of battery life. It has a sentimental value to me, and I hope for it to last longer.
Same here buddy, i still keep mine around and i even have it next to me rn, yet, man these kind of iPads are cool to look at and maybe use for some web browsing and drawing too :)

I don’t have a pc or anything (my husband has it all and now wants to take my iPad🤣) so having something like this is nice, I’m going to get a screen protector, also I’m using it to start drawing with, I would recommend getting a Apple pen on amazing and not the 200$ pens lmfao. It’s a real good iPad man I’m clumsy so hoping I don’t drop it

my ipad pro 10,5 just died after 2,5 years - took the ipad 4 from the drawer and I am so surprised how much better experience it is comparing to the newer PRO - a pleasure to use, of course many apps are no longer supported
This was my first Ipad and I did not upgrade till this year and only because one of my favorite apps stopped working. Although I love my new one, I still can't seem to let this one go. I have decided to use it as a second monitor for my laptop when I travel. That seems to work really well and it beats packing my bigger monitors. It was good to see your video, just reminded me of the specs it has. Thanks
My sister still uses her ipad 4 as her daily driver, and honestly it is superb, for her purposes being zoom classes, messenger, youtube and some games here or there. I also used it for sometime for the same purposes. And as the battery has been recently replaced, it still is holding up pretty well indeed.
We bought my grandmother an iPad 4 for Christmas back when it was still new. She’s used it up until this week. (June 2021) I just convinced her to buy the iPad 8th gen while it was discounted during Amazon Prime day. It’s amazing how long iPads can last!
I still use an iPad 3, and the way iOS 9 crippled this iPad - and my wife's old iPad 2 - is just remarkable. It used to run iOS 7 and 8 pretty smoothly. Now my first-generation iPad with iOS 5.1.1 is much more responsive than this iPad, believe it or not. For the limited use I have for an iPad, perhaps an iPad 4 would be enough, but I'll probably end up getting one that can run at least iOS 12. Very nice review, Josh!
I bought 2 of these last year for very specific reasons. One was mainly to be used in my garage for working on my car -- I don't need to cleanup or come back into the house to lookup something on the computer (parts or instructions) and I can have it play music to my bluetooth speaker so I can have some tunes while I wrench. At $70 it's great for just that. The second ipad 4 was for work/exercise by my desk -- I use it to watch netflix while I use my exercise bike, and have it setup for handoff for telephone call/ discord/ Teams etc. while working form home. It works great for all I need.
I used one of these since it was new in 2012 when I got it for my 7th birthday. I loved it so much and didn’t see a reason too upgrade until it lost iOS support. I used that as a way to convince my mom to get me the new iPad mini 5 lol. Typing this on the mini 5 that I have had for a year and a half and I love it.
I have an iPad 4. I bought it on ebay and did not realize it was supposed to be for parts or not working. Didn't quite capture that. Anyway, I got it and it was beat to crap. The bezel and the glass (but not the LCD) was broke in several spots. SO, I take it out to my local repair store and they replaced the glass and bezel (same thing?) and replaced the battery. It powered up before it was repaired and worked so I decided to have the aforementioned repairs done. It literally looks and works like a new iPad 4. In fact, watching this video on it. I use it mostly for WIFi control over one of my synthesizers because that app will not run on iPadOS15.0.2 as I have an iPad Pro 12.9 for music production. I'll keep my little iPad 4. It was a rescue and I love it.
Thank you. I was going to buy an upgrade but after seeing your informative video I decided to keep it. What I do on it works. I don't need all the fancy and faster stuff for personal use. Thanks again.
Watched this on my iPad 4, I use an iPad for daily and does almost everything I want it to do such as light gaming, web browsing, etc. A little slow, hope to get a new iPad soon.
I have a gen4 16G WiFi +cellular iPad and I love it. Sad it will be obsolete soon but when it comes to that I will still always be able to use it to knock someone out bc it’s a BEAST!
I use an iPad 4. Some of the apps aren't as recent and I can't use some of the right programs, but I can always airdrop them from my phone. This iPad is great for what i use it for, i.e. Art and games.
This was the first iPad I got, I absolutely loved it but switched to the mini because of the bezels and weight but not until 2nd gen because I couldn’t stand a slower chip and terrible screen on mini 1, but now owning a 12.9 iPad Pro which is thin, light, powerful af and beautiful
i have an ipad 4 that i still use as just a screen for my gaming setup, it still works as good as new and the battery lasts for days, although the shut down button doesnt work anymore, I definetely dropped this ipad a lot when i had it as a kid and it survived all those with minimal scratches and bumps, ive had this ipad ever since it came out and i still use it today for extra tasks like discord calling with my friends when im on the computer and just any overall task that i cant do on a computer, i love this ipad and its sustainability and its a very useful device
I used to have the exact iPad but it had a completely shattered screen. My family lived with that until we upgraded to the iPad 5th gen in 2018. Battery life was decent, it was on standby for about a week.
I have an ipad 4 in my night table, just for reading purposes and checking some RUclips videos, it's also great to play Netflix and previously downloaded content during flights, I really like this device. Even though I have a Samsung s10+ and a very good laptop. I use it all the time.
I was 15 when it came out. When I got it I was so happy I could literally die. I couldn’t stop holding it and playing infinity blade and real racing 2 on it. Today even if I buy the $2000 top model iPad Pro I won’t feel nowhere near as happy as I did when the ipad 4 came out.
I'm back at home with my parents. My dad still uses the iPad 3! He didn't seem to realise that they lose support and was blown away when I explained that to him haha
My sister used the 2nd gen iPad for 6 years (she got her new 7th gen this Christmas) and I my 6th gen iPad was in repair for a month, so I had to use the 2nd gen. It’s kinda crazy how slow it was, it’s also crazy on how the late 2012 iPad is SO much better than the 2011 model. It’s just crazy
This year I went to summer school for music, which had all iPad fourth-generation ‘s. They used garage band which was out of date on iOS 10. That means there are no sound library’s, and no new loops or instruments or drum kits.
Late to reply but it comes down to whether or not you have an SSD I think. 3rd gen intels can be OK, but with a mechanical drive it's going to be painful.
I am seeing this video using the iPad 4 I was seeing the specifications of this iPad while I stopped scrolling and saw this video I jumped in using an 8 yo iPad it runs really well than you expect. I play a lot of games in this and it runs smooth most of the time some time the game crashes some times not at all but not a single scratch in this iPad till now I am really happy with it.
This was a very nice review. While, I had used Apple Computers at my home since 1987, had never owned a tablet until this model. From the Apple web site picked-up a refurbished 4th generation iPad with the max 128 RAM and Cell phone data service. I loved the 9.7 inch screen size, the large edges, and its extra weight which, for me made it more easy to hold and carry. However, after several years of use my car was broken into and both my brief case and iPad were stolen. Most applications now are 64 size and are too large to operate properly. If not for this, I would have pick-up another used 4th generation iPad.
I got an ipad 4 in 2012 or 2013 and my younger sister still uses it. Its really great for zoom right now in the COVID era for school work. Kudos to Apple. I am buying anorther ipad as soon as shipping starts for the new ones that launched at the September event.
I still use mine for basic stuff like RUclips, Amazon, photos etc. To this day, it is kinda slow and no longer supports eBay but all that aside, it still holds up pretty well for me.
On iOS 8 with a jailbreak makes this the ultimate 32bit iOS games machine, you can play every game in the infinity blade series, old iOS gems. Oh and bioshock
I'm watching this video on an iPad 4 I bought off a Canadian chick in Kazakhstan. I've had it for years! RUclips & Facebook still work great on it & it's been thrown across the room, dropped, stepped on by my toddler so many times. This thing is seemingly indestructible! It outlived my newer iPad Mini which is now slow as molasses with a horribly cracked screen! Sometimes it randomly plays U2 songs which I don't remember ever downloading! Since I move a lot working overseas, it has become my TV wherever I roam!
i bought this ipad 3 weeks after it released and i was really excited about it. only managed to get 5 years out of it because i jailbroke it on ios 9.3.5 and about 2 months later, it got stuck in a boot loop which i can not fix. i would probably be using that ipad to this day if that didn’t happen. i’m now using the 10.5 inch ipad pro which i bought last year. it is amazing and happens to be my favourite ipad ever so i’m not gonna upgrade for a really long time
My mom bought one of these back in 2012 and she's even bought a new iPad like a 2 years ago, and she still uses it on a daily basis, apple used to build their products to last,
I use the iPad 4 as my main iPad still holds up great I even do art work on it mine has its og battery and still gets 8hr out of it I plan to use it for a few more years
I use it for RUclips and Minecraft it runs it ok also I love using the headphone jack I also use it for Remote Desktop I also have Hulu on mine to which it runs good to
ah good idea, I'll keep using my original iPad from 2010 until it can no longer hold a charge long enough for me to be fine with it. I swear to god I still use the original iPad. I even used it to type this comment and watch this video.
i still use mine in 2024 best battery ever works great youtube ect only 1 speaker but sounds great better then the new dual crap speakers they use now days cause the ipads are to then compact battery still charges to %100 and last 9 hours no problem
This comment may not be seen by you, but I just want to say thanks for another video featuring the iPad 4. This is my favorite iPad of all time, for the design, thick bezels (I love thick bezels), and iOS 6. All around a great iPad! One thing I wish you would talk about is the iPad 3. I actually don't think you've done a video solely talking about the iPad 3, which makes me wonder: why not? I know it's not much better than the iPad 2, but maybe you can do a video explaining why it failed & why it didn't sell well or something like that. Would be cool to see! Keep up the great work!
I still use this as my main ipad, the only reason I haven't upgraded is because i only use it for netflix and movies. Huge screen and 11560mah battery perfect for the job.
Found of these in a Best Buy Recycle bin 2 days ago (employees didn’t care lol) only 76 charge cycles and works great for watching RUclips at work. Crazy what people just throw awag
I miss the white iPads. I wish the new ones would have that color available. I want the upcoming iPad Pro with a white border I think it'd look pretty sweet.
I have enjoyed the Ipad 4 since its initial release. These days I use it to watch utube through the Safari browser, and also to stream video and movies with my lightning card reader. Loading various cards from my video library allows me to get great use from my Ipad 4, so I anticipate its continued use for many years to come!!! Watching movies in bed, with wifi turned off is such a luxury. It is so easy to binge great series. Headphones in, and start the movie. = instant Bliss. Warning eating popcorn in bed can be a messy experience.
I still have my 32 GB Verizon wireless variant of this iPad in the top of my closet still in pristine condition it was my first foray into iOS and the Apple world and I haven’t looked back since it’s still probably my favorite iPad and I’ve had almost every single one cents except for the latest iPad Pro.
It was the 1st iPad I’ve used in my life, and I started last year. Good entry device and I did (amazingly ) the 1st year of medschool with it. Although in the end was just painful coz of the cam, Lack of compatibility of some apps and of course speed (specially on finals season ) 😂 . still, my brother uses it even today , so it definitely has some use in 2020
It’s an amazing machine for electronic music making apps. There’s SO many that are compatible. Even the new Flip samples app by Andrew Huang works amazingly well on my ipad 4 16gb.
I feel kind of bad now because my iPad 4 has been sitting mostly unused for a couple of years now, especially since I purchased my 2018 iPad Pro last year... Amazingly, the screen isn't cracked nearly eight years later (not counting a small crack in the corner that doesn't affect the LCD portion), and battery life still rivals that of my Pro. All in all a great iPad that served me well for many years and one I need to find some new uses for since it still has plenty juice!
This is definitely one of my favorite iPads, and what I would consider the last of the 'classic' iPads. Anyone out there still using it?

My Dad still uses the iPad 4 . It performs decently well for an 8 year old device like you mentioned, but the battery has started to show it's age.
Simple.
I see a new video from josh, I click
i have the ipad 4, original ios 6. the display still looks incredible, it’s fast, and perfect 32 bit app support! (some older apps broken on ios 10)
I literally still use this one 😍
watching this video on an ipad 4 just handed down from my father in February 2022! Surprisingly still very much usable.
ah good idea, I'll keep using my original iPad from 2010 until it can no longer hold a charge long enough for me to be fine with it.
I swear to god I still use the original iPad. I even used it to type this comment and watch this video.
Legend
Same but mine is on iOS 4.3
Nice actually I’m not lying that’s actually pretty cool that u have the first ipad
How do you access youtube on an original ipad?
piet ruslim via the RUclips app obviously 😅
i still use mine in 2024 best battery ever works great youtube ect only 1 speaker but sounds great better then the new dual crap speakers they use now days cause the ipads are to then compact battery still charges to %100 and last 9 hours no problem
Im still using an iPad 2 as a dedicated Spotify player.
My aunt used an iPad to to listen to her gigabytes of iTunes music but then it got stolen so logical she bought an iPad mini
I have a iPad 4 and watching in 2020
It's still fast it's light in my opinion and has great battery life it can last 7 days and it was used lots
"think about the Android tablets there was so much junk"
Me: watching on a 2017 samsung tablet with Android 9
@Flyingcat 655 I didn't see it
This comment may not be seen by you, but I just want to say thanks for another video featuring the iPad 4.
I forgot to mention that you did mention the iPad 3 in this video, but still would be cool is there was another video talking more in depth about it
I still use this as my main ipad, the only reason I haven't upgraded is because i only use it for netflix and movies. Huge screen and 11560mah battery perfect for the job.
can it still play RUclips till this day ?
@@heklik on 720p yes
Planning to buy one..
I had one of these when they came out and I loved it, but had to sell due to being broke! I now have the iPad Air 5 so I’m happy again!
Never used an iPad 4 but an iPad 2 when I was young
Found of these in a Best Buy Recycle bin 2 days ago (employees didn’t care lol) only 76 charge cycles and works great for watching RUclips at work. Crazy what people just throw awag
lol I upgraded from the iPad 4 to the air 3. It was a good iPad.
I miss the white iPads. I wish the new ones would have that color available. I want the upcoming iPad Pro with a white border I think it'd look pretty sweet.
Using the iPad mini 1 on iOS 8.4.1 jailbroken with etason in 2020
I have enjoyed the Ipad 4 since its initial release.
YESSSSSS FINALLY
Yay another ipad videos! Good job 91tech!
My favourite iPad
When you still have one and watching the video with it and you haven't upgraded since:
I am using it right now jailbroken it (altstore) and it runs any app like a sweat app store is a bit slow, but i get the job done!
I used to use one before I upgraded to the iPad 6th gen in 2018
I still have my 32 GB Verizon wireless variant of this iPad in the top of my closet still in pristine condition it was my first foray into iOS and the Apple world and I haven’t looked back since it’s still probably my favorite iPad and I’ve had almost every single one cents except for the latest iPad Pro.
It was the 1st iPad I’ve used in my life, and I started last year. Good entry device and I did (amazingly ) the 1st year of medschool with it. Although in the end was just painful coz of the cam,
Lack of compatibility of some apps and of course speed (specially on finals season ) 😂 . still, my brother uses it even today , so it definitely has some use in 2020
Thanks for sharing valuable information ℹ
Wow your grand mother has a better iPad than most of the audience
*B R U H*
Unless my grandmother has a fire tablet 😮
My grandmother has an iPad Pro 11, and I am watching on her old iPad 4 😂
Can you do a review on the iPad Air 1st gen in 2020?
Why do you sound like MrMobile at the beginning HAHA
Ipad 4 user watching from phillipines
4:57 I dont have pockets...
Bro, these videos are awesome! He has definitely earned a subscribe, and a like from me.
i used to use this until last year and now my brother uses it lol
i'm still using this ipad, and its work perfectly, the word is not lagging, can watch 1080p videos , it is an awesome ipad.
* microsoft world
It’s an amazing machine for electronic music making apps. There’s SO many that are compatible. Even the new Flip samples app by Andrew Huang works amazingly well on my ipad 4 16gb.
Pair it with a green case and its pretty good at having nuggets bashed on top of it
I feel kind of bad now because my iPad 4 has been sitting mostly unused for a couple of years now, especially since I purchased my 2018 iPad Pro last year... Amazingly, the screen isn't cracked nearly eight years later (not counting a small crack in the corner that doesn't affect the LCD portion), and battery life still rivals that of my Pro. All in all a great iPad that served me well for many years and one I need to find some new uses for since it still has plenty juice!
That’s actually a benefit of having a phone or iPad with bezels because if it cracks there’s a chance that the screen is unaffected
Unfortunately nothing works on it, you can only watch RUclips other than that it's garbage.
I'm watching is on my iPad 4 but tomorrow i get my new iPad Pro 2020!
I'm watching this on the iPad that still has the massive charger like the iPhone 4, damn I wish I could get a upgrade
I have iPad 2
Conbyplayz - Roblox adventures I think mines the 2 or 3 because in the video he talks about the iPad 3 and that one has an updated charger
I didn't like that form so much, so I got hooked on a couple of minis later and "upgraded" to the 5th, 9.7" recently.
