I ordered my boots from a company out of the UK called DUO BOOTS. You can order the boots by shoe size and the size of your calf. It's the only company that does this. They are pricey but worth it. They ship to North America.

I have lipedema stage 2 and I wear my compression tights every single day for at least 12 hour. Especially in the summer, cause the heat leads to more swelling and pain.
If it‘s too hot I wet the tights with cool water!
And I totally changed my style after getting the diagnose - only wearing dresses the whole year!

I, too, have lymphedema. "Lymphedema and lipedema (also known as lipoedema) are two distinct medical disorders even though both involve swelling in the arms and legs."
"Lymphedema is a disorder of the lymphatic system and is commonly caused by dysfunction in the flow of lymph fluid through the arms or legs."
"Lipedema in contrast, does not involve the lymphatic system, but it is a pathologic, mostly symmetric deposition of fat that most often affects the lower extremities and almost exclusively occurs in women."

I’ve never been diagnosed but know I have lipedema ! I’m 70! I’m wondering if the compression tights are too hot in the summer? I get nauseous if I get hot. I’m a long skirt girl. Any one piece outfit is too big and sloppy on the top to get a good fit on the bottom and most jeans are too big in the waist when they fit the butt. 🤨 Im emotional watching your videos! You are the first person I’ve heard validate me! You’re beautiful and sweet. Why am I just hearing about this condition at 70 years old!? 🤪🤗🫶🙌❤️

Thank you, Rebekah, for your beautiful and encouraging videos. I just learned about lipedema last week (how have I missed it all these years?!?) and am thrilled to know that there are so many other women like me. I just got diagnosed two days ago by a lymphedema therapist. So I'm still getting used to the idea that my shape won't change much, but I'll share what's worked really well for me. I live in skirts, and my two favorites are Macabi skirts (expensive, but very full in the hips with huge pockets,) and the A-Line skirt from Hannah Lise. They only come in up to size 24, but the waist-to-hip ratio is very friendly. I have a seventeen-inch difference in my waist and hips and their skirts have been lifesavers for me. They're all long, 35 or 36 inches depending on size range. I think size 24 goes up to a 60-inch hip.
    Thanks again. I'm subscribing. 😘

Tell me about it, Paper Mario. Me too! One thing that worked well for me in the past was altering my own shirts. I KNOW. Stay with me. A sewing machine is about $100 - or less if you get lucky and find one at Goodwill. I use to buy my shirts to fit my arms then take in the body a couple of inches so it didn't look like a potato sack. It is incredibly easy. I am actually on the market for a sewing machine now and will make a tutorial for you when I get one. The other option is to embrace sleeveless-ness. I never thought I could do it, but once I did... I'll never go back. Hang in there 💕

I bought a Lands End bathingsuit DRESS with a full coverage skirt! It does have a slit but the skirt is almost to the knee--I feel great. Accentuates my nice upper and conceals my lower. Also, just. a word of caution about ThredUp: their sizing is NOT consistent, and you lose money on returns. I bought 5 dresses to try on for an occasion, returned them all since they didn't fit, and lost some money since I didn't want to just return them for store credit.

Great suggestions! I have more luck with buying secondhand on Poshmark and Mercari than Thredup, however. I also exclusively wear Judy Blue jeans now, and I would recommend them to anyone else with a big butt/thighs and smaller waist. Theyre very stretchy and comfortable, and I get lots of compliments on them. I love retro anything, so their Super Flare style is my favorite.

@courtneybowling9292 great suggestions! And, yes, I have been increasingly disappointed with ThredUp the past year. The new "restocking" fee for returns and fee for sending clothes in to sell make it less appealing. I've also noticed a drop in the quality of the clothes I'm getting. I've never heard of Mercari - thanks for sharing that!

I'm 55 and 5'2". I found beautiful flowy midi dresses, sleeveless, in pretty designs that are one size fit all. Some are cotton and some are rayon, and they fit me perfectly because I'm so short they hit just below mid calf. Only $7.99! 🤯 At Gabe's.
I went on Poshmark and got some beautiful kinonos to wear with the dresses on cool evenings.
I wear Wide Width shoes too. Found some brand new on Poshmark as well.
I do have capris and shorts to wear at home or the beach (I live in a beach town).

Hi @laryssaherbert5551! Agreed on the bike shorts 😆 I wonder if something like the CZ Salus summer weight leggings might be an option amzn.to/3OlSBL1 they will give full coverage so there won't be the uncomfortable pinching and bulging and they are designed to breath better. Might still be warm under pants but could be cute with a shirt dress or skirt? I'm traveling abroad right now near the equator (hot and humid) and have found it very reasonable to wear my K2 CZ Salus under some wide leg pants I picked up at Torrid www.torrid.com/product/wide-leg-studio-crepe-high-rise-pant/40355076-06637.html?cgid=WorkAnyWear_Bottoms#start=6 Good luck!! ♥♥

Can I put them under my nurses' uniform? Will they catch? How am I supposed to dress if I have compression? Do I get compression stockings and wear them under everything instead? Thanks. Wish I had found out about this years ago.

    • @sturdywoman
      @sturdywoman  9 месяцев назад +1

Hi @michelefiorilla9714! I wear my CZ Salus leggings all day every day and find they do well under most pants and jeans. At first it may feel warm to be so layers up but you'll get used to it. If they are catching or creeping or making your clothes ride up you might need a different size of either your compression or your pants. I find that mine feel firm and erm... compressive? against my body but not uncomfortable. For best results, put them on when you wake up in the morning and take them off right before bed. The more you can have them on while you are up and moving around the better you'll feel. I hope this helps! If you are worried about sizing and want to be able to easily return, buy your first pair through Amazon amzn.to/4bNCorA
