I don't even have an OP-Z, already knew that op1.fun sample packs could be dropped into the sample based kits, and know how drag on drop works on the OP-1 so figured it's the same on the OP-Z. I still watched this video from start to finish. ❤️
I vibe with your farmer status. That's how it worked for me, man. The wife brings home a ton of veggie plants and says, "Babe! We're like farmers!" and now here I am wearing overalls and a straw hat.
Most unique intro and outro I have ever seen lol. If you ever see that anywhere else you know Red Means Recording was the ORIGINAL. Just like some other similar videos you may see out there RMR is the OG on unique entertaining content and music. Thank you too by the way sir for this video. I have been into electronic music all my life and watching your videos with the op1 op-z and pocket operators have inspired me to create and enjoy. Your videos have helped bring a better understanding how these devices work and make them less intimidating. Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you for all your great videos. Keep doing you because you are awesome.
Thanks Jeremy! I will have to try this. Sidebar: your videos helped me a ton. They inspired me to make music again and to try and make a channel. So seriously man, keep it up and thank you!
Awesome vid!!! You can connect an op-z to a Samsung phone with the USB-C adapter that comes with the phone. And there is a really good Android app in the story that is like the op-1 utility.
just got my opz a week ago and realized that the punch in fxs symbols on the d and e keys on the far right are different on mine than they are on yours. maybe im super late to this but thought it was interesting.
@@RedMeansRecording I'll have a go as I've been lazy and not tried, the instructions seem to be straight forward and there are options with and without. It just seemed too easy.
@@RedMeansRecording So I managed to load new animations onto the app for both macbook pro and iPad. I can get the macbook ones to show up (and they all work) which is fine as its easier to cast the macbook to my tv. Note: you have to locate the opz in bluetooth settings on the macbook.
Is there an easy way to tell how much memory remaining on the OPZ after you start adding kits? Is there a certain amount you need to leave free for system related things?
Hey thanks for the tutorial. I have the following Problem: I made a drumkit in the op1 and wanted to put it on the opz. But when I eject it I dont get the great LED show . . . and the pack isnt available on the opz when I turn it on and off again. Have you a solution ? Thanks
Hey Jeremy! Question for you since I'm unable to find a straight answer anywhere. When you load custom drum samples into the OPZ by placing them in the samplepacks folder, do they get added as Gate instead of Retrig by default? What I mean is, when I add drums that way, and then I try to sequence them, it plays the first millisecond of that drum because it requires the key to be pressed down to play the full sound. What I have to do to fix this is go into sample mode, and then change each and every key's playmode to Retrig from Gate manually, which is quite annoying. However, of all the videos I've seen, no one touches on this, so I'm assuming this isn't normal OP-Z behavior
@@vvlvmusic (sorry the 'is it worth it' thing is a bit of a meme on the RMR discord server - I was joking. Custom samples are 100 percent worth it. And so are you. Never forget that.)
Peter Bode once you’ve put them on your OP-Z via a pc you can move them around with the app with the configurator. There are some other packs on there too. Just discovered this 🤙🏼
Jeremy, we appreciate you in so many ways thanks for sharing your knowledge and music! This may be a dum question, but if you want to import a few kick patches from Op-1, but you like some of the Op-z kick patches, can you keep some of them and just replace a few, or do you have to switch them all out?
If you mean changing the nature of a single kit, you would have to load it up in an audio editor or drum kit creator (as described in the video) and make changes to it that way.
"I live in this folder" dude, LOL
as someone that suffers from depression I really appreciate your dark sense of humor.
Great upload as always

You are very good at what you’re doing, Jeremy. I don’t even have one and somehow still watched it all the way through.
Of course I read "how to get kids into the op-z" and the video starts with colors and shapes...
that's what I thought too...
Funny, I first read it was "How to get gits onto the op-z" Like an old git like myself (not really that old tho lmao)
Thank you, for yet another great tutorial for the opz.
Loving the camera handling, it made me smile.

Somebody feeling silly today then! 😂😂 Made me smile, and informative too! What more could we possibly want! 👍🙏
Seattle allergies have been hell this year... Also, thank you for this vid - It's exactly what I've been looking for as a new OP-Z dad.
love you jeremy, knew i could do this but having you walk me through this gave me the confidence to actually try it. thanks!
Yes what Emanuli said.
2:33 Groetjes terug!!!! Not sure if you were sending your kind regards to everyone in Dutch on purpose.

Very helpful! Plz

Dom’s an OPZ head??
@@synthcurry I've ordered one, but haven't got it yet. :)
that’s literally the first time I‘ve actually seen your face
Which is better, getting kits onto the OP-Z, or getting kits onto the OP-1?
life is pain
I saw kids and I wanted to mention that if you just give this to a kid that won't dismantle it, will start making beats asap
Terrific video. 06:00
Please do the vids where you make a track but instead of the op-1 do it on the op-z. Anyway love these vids, keep it up man!
i ve just discovered on an ipad (you cant eject things there…) you should press the play button to manual eject the device.
that’s my kind of tutorial! tks mate
lmao I love that I can laugh and learn at the same time! Sweet thanks hahaha
Hah! a dutch spoken sample!!! Spoken by Mies Bouwan: "Hartelijke groeten aan iedereen." (translated: Kind regards to everybody)

also other key symbols are different. who knows lol
Thank you. I like your videos. They are fun. You would be a great teacher. Btw. I don't even have an opz. Are you doing op-1 videos again soon? Plz!
Just ordered mine
Great tutorial. And hilarious. Thanks!
So do you like the OP-1 more than the OP-Z or vice versus?
“This one says BJ”
Fucking genius
8:50 TRACK ID?????
lol
I am here to get my friend into the OP-Z. Let's jam.
If you have to use a computer to get kits onto the OP-Z, is it still dawless?

oh, well, i have some bad news for you

Thanks for the video, can you please make a video on importing motion video packs with and without a mac. I just have an iPad and PC.
i can, but it's going to be the same on PC vs. Mac. AFAIK you just load them into slots.
@@RedMeansRecording I'll have a go as I've been lazy and not tried, the instructions seem to be straight forward and there are options with and without. It just seemed too easy.
there's a developer making op-z motion sketches I want to feature, so i'll put the video in the queue.

The opz is SUPER weird with sample packs. It's just broken. No idea why.
@@RedMeansRecording ok I got it. I pressed play after ejecting. . . then the opz reboots. . . :)
Hey there! I have a load of one-shot drums samples, does the same thing apply? How would I upload individual?

You need to make kits out of them.

Ugh I have no idea. There seems to be a lot of inconsistent weird shit with samples on the opz
Is getting kits onto the OP-Z worth it?
Of course. Custome samples, why wouldn't you want that? And it takes about a minute to get it all done.
@@vvlvmusic (sorry the 'is it worth it' thing is a bit of a meme on the RMR discord server - I was joking. Custom samples are 100 percent worth it. And so are you. Never forget that.)

Is it possible to import samples directly from a Android phone via OTG usb-c? Or via the IOS app?
Peter Bode once you’ve put them on your OP-Z via a pc you can move them around with the app with the configurator. There are some other packs on there too. Just discovered this 🤙🏼
I like how various packs on op fun will brick the OP-Z until you remove all the custom samples.
yeah, that REALLY sucks
