After 10 minutes I already have a better understanding of sampling on this than I did after an hour of trying to teach myself. Thanks cuckoo, you gold standard of tutorials you!
Nice addition to this. OP-Z seems so neat. I love my POs. Seems like a combination of many of them + some superpowers. The USB host thing is very cool. I can't wait to get it. Thanks for the spotlight.
Chris Dillon I agree. I don’t have an OP-Z. Ive watched numerous videos and at times it seems a little overwhelming. However, during Cuckoo’s sampling tutorial, the workflow in many aspect is quite similar to the PO-33.
I watched your OP-Z tutorial for weeks before I got my OP-Z. Have been waiting for this tutorial so I can start getting some new sounds to my instrument. Thanks as always!

Too bad RUclips decided to now notify me of this video earlier, could have enjoyed this last week. I am ordering one. Thanks, again, for the tutorials.

Cuckoo, your OP-Z tutorials and other videos convinced me of the device's depth, potential and accessibility. I've ordered one as my first synth / sequencer / instrument. I'm sure I'll be rewatching them all another 50x! Thanks man.

Great tune and instantly recognisable as Cuckoo. I installed the new firmware the other day and have had a little play but will spend more time offer the weekend. This opens up all sorts of possibilities and makes the OP-Z even more powerful.
I've been watching old videos of the OP-z and I didn't realise that it didn't sample OOB.... I hope that TE add such amazing firmware boosts on the new KOII.

The only thing that I wish we could do in sample mode is a one press recording instead of having to hold down the record button. I was trying to sample me playing the guitar but it’s impossible unless you have 3 hands or another person holding the record button down.
Omg the part at 22:29 is so good. You make me want and OP-Z so bad but their lack of support for android devices really holds me back from making the purchase....
Yes it should work. I think there’s even a shortcut implemented to turn the mic source on, even without a physical mic button (which is usually the way to turn on the external mic).
Can I use the jack input to sample other synths? I am thinking to connect the Volca FM output into the OP-Z input using a 3.5mm jack and record pads into the OP-Z sampler. Would that possible?
Yeah I think you’ll need an adapter of sorts. The headphones jack I believe is one of those three channel jacks, the stuff you’d see on a headset with a microphone. Stereo out, mono in. No. Currently the drum tracks have one sample format (12 seconds, 1 unique slice per key), and the melody tracks have another format (6 seconds, one tuned sample across the whole keyboard).

Question: I have a mic/headphone splitter cable plugged into the aux jack on the opz. I can hear the audio I want to sample before I sample it, when I sample it gets a bit louder indicating that it is sampling. But when I play the sample back... it was the mic on the opz not the internal recording I was hearing. So it basically sounds like the AC and the TV. Lol. So what the hell. Is there a way to turn the mic off. The opz is flat and there is no light on the side with the mic so does not seem to be on. Is it a glitch?
The native way to select the mic as an in source is by pressing the mic button on the headset. But there’s a hidden shortcut for activating it in the scenario when there’s no mic button, I think it’s by pressing shift+screen (the square icon back side button), while in rec mode.
