Flexco recommends to skive top cover of belt a minimum of 1/8” (3mm) if possible. 190’s work well with urethane pre-cleaner blades and secondary cleaners with C-tips.
All Flexco Mechanical Belt Fasteners have specified minimum pulleys for each fastener size. This is to ensure the most smooth and flexible motions across the bend of the pulley. It also minimizes the strain on the belt/fastener connection and movement and strain on the hinge pin The hardness of the pulley and mechanical belt fasteners are similar and do not affect the performance of the larger surface area of the pulley. It could be compared to driving a nail with a hammer, after driving many nails, the metal to metal contact makes marks on the hammer. It doesn’t negatively impact the function of the hammer, but there will be marks. Any pulley marks made by properly installed fasteners will not affect the pulleys function and the travel of the belt surface will also smoothen it back out.
Thank you for posting this.
What belt scrapers would work best with these fastners? In the past we had issues with scrapers damaging the 190's.
