Using a flat bar is easier to pull out the nails, you can also use it to start pulling the siding as well if you don’t have the siding tool. As soon as one end is free you can easily pull off the old piece.
That's all fine when you have extra siding. I pull the siding off glue a metal patch on the back of the siding with a spray adhesive. Next I I cover the front side hole with liquid vinyl and let it dry sand it flush and paint it. reinstall it and you can barely see it.
Do you want a real easy way to patch this and especially where this is it makes it a lot easier. Cut a piece of siding just shy of the maximum width. Cut off the top lip and trim some of the bottom lip of the vinyl siding piece. Take some pure silicone caulk and spread it on the vinyl siding paying particularly care to the top and the bottom do not let it be so close that it's going to leak out. Bend the siding slightly so it gets behind the side pieces slide it up into place and there you have it laminated and good to go. I probably had to do this 10 times so far at my house with the stupid lawn mower throwing rocks. Don't mean to step on your video but I find the lamination so much easier for people that are not used to replacing vinyl siding. Thanks for the video
That has to be the most insightful comment I’ve ever had 😂 very helpful! I am definitely going to give it a try. It doesn’t look like a patch? I appreciate you sharing. You should definitely make a video.
@@CrazyWillTechShow The area that you were fixing you wouldn't see it all because it's only a short run no seams just slip behind the 2 side pieces . I just patched a hole a few minutes ago and the piece I used was 6 ft long. So you'll see an extra seam but it really does not look like a patch whatsoever. I've been doing this for a long time as my ground is nothing but stones. Take care and be safe.
Folks if u have siding done on your house and the contractor leaves u half a box of siding or some cut pieces.... this is why. It's very hard to match up siding as a lot of companies change the colors slightly every few years. I've seen people throw that box of siding away thinking the contractor didn't feel like getting rid of it. LoL He isn't trying to stiff u on a dump run. I promise.
@@CrazyWillTechShow do u end up putting holes in the siding a lot? Is it from the lawn mower throwing stones? Or is it from expanding and contracting with the weather?
@@CrazyWillTechShow well, no, it looks like crap, and is very noticeable after it weathers and turns yellow.. BUT it stays sealed and solid as the glass it's holding together.. so even trade off.. And on the siding, you can still see the hole, unless you paint over it or try to get siding colored shoe goo.. but I think it only comes in clear and black.
That is a problem….. but you could take siding off of the back of the house or a place that you don’t mind seeing a new piece of siding, And bring it to the front. When mine gets old i’ll take it from the back of my garage where no one see and move it to the front. Then replace the back with a new piece. My old man taught me the trick.
Lol why is there a random piece of vertical wood OUTSIDE the vapor barrier u could see when u removed the panel? If you're going to do shit like that you should at least point out that it's fucked up and no one else should do that.
Finally a video that actually shows how it works in detail. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Thanks man. I try, I hate half ass videos but I also don’t like long ones.
Bro you knocked it out of the park. My wife is Going to be so happy that I can fix our siding. 🤙🏼🖖🏼
😂 that awesome! Happy wife happy life!

Really? Liquid vinyl. That sounds very interesting. Do you have any pics?
Thank you for showing how to do this. Great video!
Glad I could help and thanks for watching.
Hey man, appreciate you taking time to post this.
Thank man that means a lot to me. 😁
Change the title for this video, you didn't repair a hole, you replaced siding that had a hole in it.
Agreed. Misleading
Just what I needed. Thanks bro!
Glad I could help!
Thanks for the video, i’m going to fix my house😎💪🏼
4 times this summer I had to do this...lol. Glad I could help.

I agree me and my father did all of the siding on my house. I wanted to extra boxes because I knew this was gonna happen.

@@JackG79 It’s from the lawnmower 😞. Every so often.
Now I know . Thank you .
Happy to help
I actually have a small hole this size. I was wondering if there was any way to just simply patch it up…
This was the only solution that worked for me. Sorry.
A nice glob of Shoe Goo will seal it up real good.. it will also seal up cracked windows..
Does it look good?
@@CrazyWillTechShow well, no, it looks like crap, and is very noticeable after it weathers and turns yellow.. BUT it stays sealed and solid as the glass it's holding together.. so even trade off..

my problem is hole is in older siding and replacement whole piece will look worse and more obvious than the whole.

How much does it cost?
All depends on how much your siding is. The panel cost me $16 for 16 foot
You didn't fix the hole. You replaced the panel. Come on.
Is the hole there? No, so I fixed the hole.

Because you sound like a professional… dropping the F bomb and not educating at all.. yeah, I’d really take advice from you. Grow up!
Shouldn't this be called"unzipped and replaced a section of siding"
That doesn’t really work with RUclips.
@@CrazyWillTechShow I was joking around man. The video is fine. You did a great job.
