I reckon mile end station needs an upgrade, I’m not sure about the ridership at that station but it looks like it could do with some new timetables, cameras and some wider platforms with more seating and canopies. Nice video though keep them coming.
Narrowest platform on the network at one of the worst stations on the network. Most of Adelaides stations arent like this, they are small and lack facilities but mile end is genuinely just shit.
8:08 - 4011 has a dent in the bottom part of the front. That is because it crashed into a car mid last year. They only fixed the coupler on the front, nothing else. Anyway, cool video. 👍
Adelaide 100 years behind the rest of the country and the only mainland city with heavy rail that is not 100% electrified and capable of growth, most if not all platforms having a limited length of 3 cars with bugger all scope for longer trains, even cutting services to outlaying regions that are growing at an alarmingly fast rate aka the hills & Mt Barker...
Having moved to Adelaide from interstate, I totally agree with your statement. Unfortunately the poor quality of infrastructure is not limited to Adelaide's railway system. Look at the surface quality of its roads.
@@danielvanouten8661 This is partially due to the collapse of the state bank in the 1990's Adelaide is only just starting to recover form that, hence the huge uptake in infrastructure projects out of seemingly nowhere.
Nearly every platform can take 6 car units in Adelaide, the Seaford line has 3 platforms that cant take 6 car units but the A-city has the capability for independent door control thus negating that problem. Hills services where cut because the line to mount barker was that slow and windy that it would never ever be comparable to driving. As is the Belair line makes a 20 min car trip 40 mins by train due to its winding nature.
Yeah, the government is making huge progress in PT upgrades in Adelaide. Bus services where reconstructed in 2011-2013 to make them a really good service. Several major grade separations are occurring. Major stations are being rebuilt in a modern clean manner. 22 railway stations are being resurfaced, repainted, new shelters, new cctv, new real time information being added to them. Ridership is rapidly increasing in Adelaide even with the Gawler line out of action and will be at 30 million for rail by the time grep is done. Bus interchanges are being rebuilt, bus priority is being improved, Obahn is being upgraded. Trains are being modernised, Adelaide railway station is being improved. my point is that people are focusing on the negatives rather than the positives, if you where to use Adelaides network in 2010 you want to die, 2021 the network inst great but its a million time better than it was a decade ago.
Very lucky that there was somebody who saw it happen there otherwise it would've ended badly.
Need more people like this guy in society! ✌
What happened and when I’m the video?

Class 3000: bro I hate my time
I used to saw them racing when I’m in the Class 4000

Agreed. Its one of the major stations on the metro network with 4 platforms so it should have more facilities.
@Perth Aviation Connections yes, the one I would add would be the Greenwith line by changing the O-Bahn to a railway.
How thin is that middle platform geez
+LaggyMTG
The middle platform is 2.96 metres wide. By far the narrowest.

The newer ones sound like the Rome metro. They aren’t even in the same hemisphere, or have the same use.
Adelaide I have never been to Adelaide before
I wanna go to Adelaide ;(
I do recommended it. Plenty of train & bus variety plus flights and accommodation are rather cheap compared to other places such as Sydney.

I live in Adelaide. It is great here! You would enjoy coming here.

4012 & 4014 both have busted arse lower cowling as well, typical cheap arse government won't fork out the coin to fix them properly
4019 has a dent on the same place because of a rock

Three car trains in peak hour? Noticed that the trains are mostly empty, is the rail system under used in Adelaide?
Under funded and run down..
No, In peak hour trains are packed in.
@@zander4210 but they are only three cars, or two cars for the diesel railcars. Other times they run virtually empty.
@@harrygoldun5779 During nonpeak hour times, on most lines there are not that many seats. The only line that runs empty is the belair line in nonpeak
Look at the Seaford line, the patronage increased by over %50 when it got electrified
Yep...jammed and packed out as usual....
nice video bro
Thanks!
we'll smelling like piss is fairly normal... and i don't think an upgrade there will help there..
No quiere ir vieja Train, no sé tengo dinero 😞 y Australian que no eres así, alcanza 🤏🏻. ;-/
Nooo puedo pelear
Adelaide must have the cheapest, ugliest train stations in Australia, just look at them
You can say that again mate. Many of them look like they're stuck in another era.
@@danielvanouten8661 Only now that they begin renovating some stations. Most of them are still ugly though. The Government is such a cheapskate
