Every idea for filtering water is always helpful! Thank You, Jinne 😊

Cut the bottom of the 2-liter plastic bottle This will serve as the container for holding the filtered water.
Remove the cap from the bottle and discard it.
Take a small ziplock bag and cut a small piece of a corner off
Place the cotton ball into the corner of the bag
Take the top of the bottle you cut off, turn it upside down (make it look like a funnel) place bag/cotton ball into the "funnel" and pour water into bag and let filter.
This is more of a hands-free method

First time I've seen the cotton ball/baggie trick, thanks!

I'm a little lazy, so I'd have cut the bottle a little closer to the opening. That way I could use the opening as a funnel to hold the bag & cotton ball. IF it worked I would set it all down so I ha hands free to do other things as it drained.
Who knows, it could work too.
Thank you for sharing. Love this!😊

I believe the CDC recommends bringing your water to a roiling boil for 1 minutes below 3,000 feet and 3 minutes above 3,000 feet...... might be worth a double check

    • @DoubleTap40

Might want to do the research but fairly certain a rolling boil for a minute makes water safe. To do a lot longer as a waste of fuel sources.

Science says boiling water kills the microbes. Boiling at 140° for 1-4 minutes, depending on altitude.

Can you use bleach or the tablets?

    • @dandycat2204
      @dandycat2204 4 месяца назад +7

Plain bleach (NOT scented, it will not flavour your water, it WILL kill you), 1 drop bleach per 1 pint of water.
      Leave to stand 20 minutes.
I know it doesn't sound much, but it will kill everything in the water.
The water will not need boiling.
      Hope this helps.
