girl, you are one smart cookie. thanks for continuing to teach us these good tricks to survival.
Every idea for filtering water is always helpful! Thank You, Jinne 😊
Cut the bottom of the 2-liter plastic bottle This will serve as the container for holding the filtered water.
Remove the cap from the bottle and discard it.
Take a small ziplock bag and cut a small piece of a corner off
Place the cotton ball into the corner of the bag
Take the top of the bottle you cut off, turn it upside down (make it look like a funnel) place bag/cotton ball into the "funnel" and pour water into bag and let filter.
This is more of a hands-free method
First time I've seen the cotton ball/baggie trick, thanks!
I'm a little lazy, so I'd have cut the bottle a little closer to the opening. That way I could use the opening as a funnel to hold the bag & cotton ball. IF it worked I would set it all down so I ha hands free to do other things as it drained.
Who knows, it could work too.
Thank you for sharing. Love this!😊
Thanks so much, Jinne! Another great tip for helping us be prepared!
Great tip! I’d carry a bottle of bleach in a dropper bottle too, but you need to write the expiration date on it. Thank you!! ❤
Handy prefilter method to make stuff like Sawyer filters last longer and way better for either UV/solar or chemical sterilisation too
This is awsome! Thank you for always sharing your tips and knowledge with us. Blessings! 💙
All good take the top you cut off make a hole in the top put your cotton ball in there and let it rest inside the rest of the container
That’s a new one for me. Great tip!👍
Thanks for sharing this simple and easy survivor skill. Knowing how to have safe and clean drinking water is a priority.
Oh this is great. Thank you. I almost didn't watch. I am glad i did.😮😂.
Hello have a great day.
Some dry Kool-aid (sweetwned or unsweetened) or True Lemon packets might be good to have to add to the water in case there is any unpleasant taste.
Great video and so easy ❤
Excellent! Thank you so much. Appreciate your wisdom 💖🙏🙏🙏
"Awesome!"
I believe the CDC recommends bringing your water to a roiling boil for 1 minutes below 3,000 feet and 3 minutes above 3,000 feet...... might be worth a double check
Their recommendation is 1 minute under and 3 minutes over 6,500 feet elevation.😊
Like anyone trusts the cdc any more....
Thanks red-hot.
I always boil my water from the tap before I filter it
@@JDDees
We don’t trust the cdc but boiling is very important

I often recommend your videos to north African refugees crossing the strait of Gibraltar hopping to make it to the EU and then the UK the feedback I have gotten is generally positive, would you consider doing a video specifically on migrating past an international border such as the US/Mexico or Ukraine/Poland?
That is super simple! Thanks, Jinne!
Now I want to try this

Gret video, Jinne!
Cool 🙌🏼😁
great video!
Good video, thanks for sharing YAH bless !
What a neat idea! How long does it take for the water to drip through the cotton ball?
Would you be interested in trying our 6-in-1 water quality tester? We believe it can provide great help for your tap water, filtered water and so on!
Might want to do the research but fairly certain a rolling boil for a minute makes water safe. To do a lot longer as a waste of fuel sources.
Unless you capture the steam for distilled water.
🥰🥰🥰🥰
What about the parasites?
Some will get filtered out with the Cotton balls but the rest will be killed by the boiling water.
Boiling may not remove microbes. It may not be safe for drinking😢
Science says boiling water kills the microbes. Boiling at 140° for 1-4 minutes, depending on altitude.
Can you really trust the cotton balls?
Did ya see the difference? It is better than nothing.
Can you use bleach or the tablets?
Plain bleach (NOT scented, it will not flavour your water, it WILL kill you), 1 drop bleach per 1 pint of water.
Leave to stand 20 minutes.
I know it doesn't sound much, but it will kill everything in the water.
The water will not need boiling.
Hope this helps.
