- The Real Life Story and Sad ending of Jack Dodson
Jack Dodson was born on May 16, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Jack was arguably best known for playing "Howard Sprague", the somewhat geeky county clerk on The Andy Griffith Show (1960). This hilarious character actor endeared himself to 60s and 70s audiences as the straight-laced "straight man" to the "comic idiot" character "Goober". He brought laughs throughout the end of the run of The Andy Griffith Show - and its spin-off, the ever popular (he said facetiously), Mayberry R.F.D. (1968) (alongside Ken Berry in the "Andy" knock-off role).

Howard "Spar-Gew"???
Way to ruin a beloved character's name!
SMH...
She obviously never saw the show.
@@davidrussell4104 they get bots to do these most of the time. The bot would have probably done better with the pronunciation.
Not a human. You'd think you could teach it names.
AI has a way to go...
The robot obviously never watched the show. The show did not "fizzle" in 1971. It was cancelled along with all of CBS' rural-related shows. Someone did not do their research. While this is an interesting subject, it is made a challenge to sit through with this HORRIBLE narration as well as the confusing images. This is another example of the RUclips junk videos done by unqualified people with no talent for video production. This is HORRIBLE. This person couldn't even edit a flubbed line. TERRIBLE!
Sprague? Look up the pronunciation.
Don't Argue with Spargue!!! LOL 😂
SPRAG is the way it's pronounced.
IMPORTANT... get someone who can read well to be your story narrator... Make sure they get the copy PRIOR to recording it for recording so they are aware of proper pronunciation of names and other important information you want to communicate.... THIS IS important for viewers. And if you are going to do retrospectives of television icons, make your story more focused on their television lives and not some goofy story about his automobiles. WOW!
I agree. It is obvious that RUclips has no standards. In the meantime, 1,000s of viewers are attracted to junk like this.
Good ol' Howard Spargoo.😳
Pronounced fay ton, Not Fat ton. Get it right!
After hearing “Spar Gue,” I had to stop watching.
NOT SPARGEW...IT'S "SPRAGUE"! Guess you never watched Mayberry. Geez!
I loved him, when he first came on the cast in Mayberry ,I was in love with his funny attitude. He fit right in. And yes, he had a great career. Very misleading title to this video.
🏆🏆🏆👍🇺🇲👍.
Thank you for sharing
He also played the father to Donnie Most on
Happy. Dayo
Omg! Did you ever watch the show? Learn the correct pronunciation of Sprague it's not difficult!!!
"Face-ishly?"
Watch at 1.5 speed.... at least.
I remember he played Sally Fields husband in the Steve McQueen movie....
Sorry, he played the veteranarian husband of Sally Struthers (All in the Family) in the GETAWAY.
Spar-gue - 🤣🤣🤣🙃🥸 This channel constantly butchers names. Totally unprofessional.
Sam Pecking Paw??
Howard Sprague (pronounced: Spay-G) ... AHEM
SPRAY G
Sending prayers 🙏❤️🙏
Somewhat geeky?
How is this a sad ending? He had a great life and a great career. Your headline is very misleading so I must give your video a thumbs down and your narration was very dry and boring also
Yes, take this down. He was very successful and I can't stand the voice on this, anyway.
sell please
Mispronunciations and awful narration performance pretty much ruin this otherwise interesting account.
So where is the sad part?
@@apollo11guy The Sad part is that they are stupid enough not to be able to pronounce his name correctly.
The title wording of this channel is misleading...the "sad ending" is disrespectful. If you are giving accolades to your subject...how is this "sad"? This channel will suffer until you choose a better headpiece. This is suppose to be upbeat and affirming...come on...let's get positive!
I hate AI!
