The reason i'm telling you this is because i'm a gamer, I play competitive games like rust, overwatch, etc. I want to upgrade to a new monitor, not sure if it's worth going to 4k for fps reasons or not. But I definitely want to step up from my current Acer Predator XB272 1080 27". I want something between 27-34" That is top of the line. Such as the Alienware AW3423DW. I don't have a budget, whatever is best for my setup I will get. So my question to you is, what would you get? I play games like rust, overwatch 2, diablo 4.
Either the Alienware, this display is freaking GOAT, or if willing to risk it with the legendary Samsung QC problems, Samsung OLED G8 (same panel, different software and overall look), otherwise if willing to go outside the 34”, then the Samsung Neo G9 (49”) or even the newer, even more overkill 8K 57” version which costs an arm and leg. Not even the best system with the best GPU, CPU, DDR5 and NVMe SSD will make these G9 monitors perform at top capacity (in terms of achievable framerate) for demanding games. The alternative to these G9 would be more like the LG Ultragear 49GR85DC-B but it has less impressive specs. So in your case, I say stick with the Alienware AW3423DW or DWF. Can’t go wrong with this one.
I went with the samsung odyssey neo g8 so far no problems. It's the FALD VA version. No oled. I may return it and wait for alienware. Not sure yet. @@RonJeremy514
I think the g9 as said above is a beautiful panel but maybe a bit too wide for most games. Its great for driving and flying sims, but otherwise you will have to look too far left and right. I think the aw3423DW is fine, however arguably the updated model: aw3423DWF is better. Or you could go for the samsung g8 oled, if you have no budget. I'd normally advice against that one since OLED has risk of burn-in, and samsung gives only 2 year guarantee, and even then they will diagnose if they feel its on them or on you. The alienware for example has 3 years guarantee. I can advice you to decide for yourself what size screen you'd want, and with those terms (for example a 1440P or 4K, and if you want 16:9 or ultrawide) lookup comparison video's here on youtube. There's a couple guys that are really knowladgeble and in-depth, that really helped me choose,, and I hope to be the owner of AW3423DWF by next week. Good luck, and maybe let me know what you picked. It depends on what games u play, if they're not heavy games u might be able to get away with 1440p but i highly doubt u would want a better monitor for those kind of retro games. I think a steam deck isnt strong enough to run most newer games on 1440p unless you play on the lower graphic settings but then ur quality is worse than before. So i'd recommend getting a good 1080p monitor
Yes, it was officially awarded as last year’s best display on the market. Technically there are better ones now like say the Samsung Neo G9 57” (when it doesn’t have QC issues as always with Samsung) now but as an ultra wide 21:9 aspect ratio display, it’s the top dog.

it depends on what you feel like spending i guess. but honestly, if its just for a PS5 than why not get the Sony one that matches the white and ergonomics of the ps5? its not like you have a crazy graphics card to show off with a pc. either that or maybe the alienware, LG or samsung. im referrring to the monitors in this list. those are all my favorites. and you might as well get a bigger and maybe curved screen since your only going to use 1 monitor. QHD, UHD, OLED those are things your looking for. refresh rate doesnt matter becuase ps5 cant handle more than 120
best ones are either the alienware big curved one, or the xenon flex, or if those are too much money than the Sony one which would match the PS5 very nicely with style and color and with it also being sony brand. those should be your 3 options!
