As a commercial driver I can assure you, it will be garbage like the DPF and DEF models. Too much electronics and too many control modules do not make for reliable trucks. Reliability left the transportation industry back in the early 2000’s when they installed EGR valves in heavy duty diesel engines. Ever since then it’s been downhill for truck owners. These new generation of trucks are absolute junk……further more, these truck manufacturers are making money hand over fist with the cost of replacement parts.

Electric long haul trucking is not a good idea, electric cars are bad at pulling heavy loads and batteries have low power density meaning less room for cargo. Trains are also electric but they don’t need to carry the electric with them, train tracks are cheaper to maintain then roads, they use the power more effectively and a single locomotive can haul a hundred times more cargo. You want electric long haul transport. Bild more rail.

This is a Diesel engine truck having only 12 mpg under full load. Cab over engine is not a traditional truck layout.
