Hi guys, Hopefully you found this Multi-box guide for use in wow but without breaking the rules/TOS useful. This is how I do it at least and I have loads of fun with it. It works for both Classic and Retail ofc. Yes, it may require some investment but you might have these things laying around already.

I multi box all the time, its nice to have a solid duo when trying to do harder quests/achievements.
Scott...why not put the 2nd character's healing spells on foot pedals and then you could cast a heal as needed without any distinction from your main.

Oh wow you set up seems really complicated but if it works for you more power to ya. When I dual box, I just click between my game screens on the same monitor and hit abilities back and forth. Of course I don’t have a stream and other things running to take up resources.
Some other tips for those getting started with dual boxing:
1. Use FFA loot -this lets you choose to complete one collection quest at a time which is nice if you run out of patience
2. Set up similar keybinds. My openers are always 123 and finishing move is 4. Keep it simple
3. Keep you UI simple. Either import an existing ui that you already set up or use default. It helps when you want to just start.
4. ScottieJ had some great tips that I use as well: set a follow and assist macro, choose classes that work well together (two ranged or two melee are great to play). And just in general if you have casters, use macros for your spells so you don’t miss a new rank.
Overall good video, it’s fun to see how others have their setup. 🙂

Blizzard had to focus on catching the Autobots without touching the multibox.
It is natural to die and kill on a war server, but there are too many idiots who can't accept this, and there are many idiots who view multi-box as autobots.

Using party1 in your macros instead of character names means you only have to make one set of macros for all your dual-boxing needs. You'd be using /follow party1 and /tar party1 to follow and target your party member.
this probably breaks the new streamlining part of the TOS (hard to say because nobody really knows). i think the best thing now is to have multiple clients open and use windows native feature of focus on mouseover to make it a little easier than alt+tab
Ya, I've been using 2 wow clients and 2 screens since classic.
This was mentioned at the start but felt it was needed to say This can be done from one PC, and it would be easier and more characters would be added without making it more complicated. Anyone looking to start multiboxing the macro's he's using are what I use.
Multiboxing lesson #1 keep it simple. You get confused your dead.
ive watched a good many of multi-boxing videos and this is truly the only video that is within TOS. good job.
Pay to win my ass - the 58 boost is to pay to win. Anyone who thinks "alt-tab-dual-boxing" is "easy" should try it... you'll be surprised how complex it gets at high levels to "play well". However, DO NOT setup your controller software with sequences like - "wait xx seconds before casting next key"... this is where it becomes sketchy. Stick to in game macros only and be sure your keyboard/game controller/stream deck software is 1 keypress per 1 window/instance of the game. Been rocking it for 15+ years now and had 0 problems TOS.
I use:
* Two PCs
* Wireless Keypad and Wireless mouse connected to the 2nd PC
* ButtonForge
* Macros.
Super cheap setup if you already have the second PC. I also use a Config.WTF setting on the 2nd PC to not copy macros, binds, or config.
Could you elaborate a little bit with ButtonForge and the config file copy macros part?

ButtonForge: Allow you to create brand new bars not bound by the base 10 bars, so you're never adjusting the base bars themselves, and you can rebind all your keys to those new bars.
Config.WTF: There's a number of settings for syncing your setup with the server, so that when you log into another computer, its all the same. Specifically I set the following to 0 (off)
synchronizeBindings - To stop keybinds from copying to the server
synchronizeConfig - To stop the configuration settings from copying to the server
synchronizeMacros - To stop the macros from copying to the server
synchronizeSettings - To stop the system settings from copying to the server.
You simply add extra lines to the WTF such as:
SET synchronizeBindings 0
This means whatever I do on the 2nd PC doesn't end up mucking with my normal play. That PC is essentially effed up to play on normally, but it sits in the corner as my 2nd box only. (It's also my torrent host and a bunch of other server stuff)
Thanks for the video. There’s so many haters out there that I’m scared to box. Not to mention people who probably don’t give a damn but just want an excuse to troll someone. I have boxed on and off and found that a two man team was fun and enjoyable but anything more was just more work than it was worth. Even if I was able to run my own dungeons. (I did this in Wrath). I now do the old alt tab. I have a gaming keyboard and remapped switch apps to just tab to make it easier. I’m currently struggling to get going in heroics with my tank and was actually thinking of two boxing to heal myself. It would be nice to remove the tab from the keyboard strokes needed but I’m not ready to setup a second computer snd one of these gadgets for it. Yes, I think I might be able to two box a healer better than the average pug healer.

Mages selling zg boosts 50g per person, per run, and people are still complaining about multi boxers breaking the economy lol.
Also, they are pretty vague with their latest terms. “Anything that streamlines multi boxing”. Which would be this included probably. They are purposely not being very clear with it.
You gotta get the weak aura follow. That way you can just make a macro on your main to say follow in party, and any of your goons will follow.

I used to multibox. Blizz has gone out of their way to get rid of it and now you are only allowed to hardware box. No software.

@@phdotsco No they banned keycloning. You can still control multiple accounts as long as you have full control over all your toons and do not split them up. You are just one of those people who hates multibox if because you can’t afford it and so try and ruin it for everyone else. You can still do it. It is just very restricted.

You are allowed KVM. You are not allowed any atomization.
If you skilled at doing that, then you can switch from one screen to another in less than a seconds time without actual broadcasting.

@@RS-vz5gc yeah but how much money do they end up costing? They're just another pain point for already frustrated legitimate players. It's unclear if it's a net financial benefit or deficit. It's certainly a stain on the game from a player point of view, and absolutely ravages the market.

I would be careful around building rotations / abilities into a single key on the stream deck though. I could see that counting as automation (and they did explicitly block macros in game from being able to do that with sleep / wait timers built in).
What’s the difference between that and building a one button macro around like a hunter?

You dont need a seperate pc....I used to run 5 wow clients on a gaming laptop.....10 years ago.

You can use Party1 at most of the commands so you wont have to specify name. ie /fol Party1 or /assist Party1. If you are two-player party it always mentions the other one.
I quad box on a walmart HP nitro5 or 6, I have a 75" 4k monitor and seamlessly mouse between all 4 toons. Each takes up 1/4 of the
TV and its like having 4 - 36" monitors. I just leveled, well currently lvling, to 80, dps dru, resto sham, prot pally and rog, its great. I actually am able to 8 box EQ, Im sure Id be able to 8 wow as well, but gets a little thick. I do the same, control each char like if I had 4 pcs, but seeing all 4 at the same time and being able to just click a macro for my shaman to heal the tank, rog, all chars have macros to make targeting and casting etc by clicking 1 button. I do wish they had the same in game macros as EQ has. 5 lines where you can macro where 1 button will start casting spell 1, pause, cast 2, pause, cast 3, etc, at line 5 you can tell it to press another macro and just have an infinite loop. I do it for my druid and wiz where I can just press 1 button and itll do the work for the whole fight, for the most part, use a bard as it just add full time buffs w /melody so I can focus on tank and peek at heals. Seeing all the screens with out having to hide one behind the other makes it great, love multi boxing.

I have the same exact RMT players on both my servers doing boosts that have been here for well over a year now. While I don't multibox nor buy gold, I'd much rather a persopn multi box and actually be playing the toons than gold selling be a thing. Just my opinion of course.

I just went through the comments and I wonder if people didn't watch the video or they just hatin for the the sake of hatin... First of all, you're using 2 characters, not 20 like some of the multiboxers used to and you're not controlling both from the same keystrokes. Secondly, this takes some time to setup and teach the brain how to split it's attention, it's technically like playing with a friend, in this case - left and right hemisphere. Know the difference ffs, this is nowhere near harmful to the economy or whatever toxicity problems people have

@@Scottejaye Or maybe most of the community doesn't like the idea of multi-boxing in any form. Pretty sure people didn't like it when it wasn't against the ToS, so it doesn't have to do with that for the most part. The way it comes across is like you found a loophole and are skirting the rules. Doing this for fun sure it's fine if it doesn't break the ToS w/e but making a 24 minute video showing it off is just not needed or wanted. It is super try hard with a convoluted setup with hardware most people don't have or need. We get it, its your job and you like to go full sweat lols.
Don't be so out of touch with the community that you can't see how people don't like this no matter its form. Try to understand instead of patrolling the comments defending and justifying.
This is banned, sorry guys this isn't allowed under the revised input broadcasting update. For some reason Scott's thought you can use hardware in any shape or form to do this as long as you aint using AHK, ISboxer or some other software.
That's not the case, "we will now additionally prohibit the use of all software and hardware mechanisms to mirror commands to multiple world of warcraft accounts at the same time *OR* to automate or streamline multiboxing in *ANYWAY* . posted on the 21st of May in the offical update by Kaivax.

Have you focus grouped this or are you just projecting your peeve onto the "community"? Anyway, so long as nobody's griefing anybody, nobody else has moral standing to complain. A multiboxer taking 3-5 into a dungeon isn't hurting you, it's not like he's competing with you when he does pve. Any form of griefing that a multiboxer can do can be done by a team of players, so none of them can be blamed on multiboxing. Years ago, I multiboxed WOW with 3 paid accounts. I did this because I loved dungeons and hated PUGS. I wasn't even trying to speed run the Dungeons. I wanted to pull slowly and loot at my leisure. With 3 toons, I could clear a level-appropriate dungeon at my own pace. I never took my team into a BG and single-shotted toons. I never ganked a hapless innocent enemy. You only got PVE from my team if I caught you ganking lowbies, killing quest givers or the like, or when I was defending a city, or if you attacked me first. I never doubled up on a gathering profession to exploit the node mechanics. I wasn't griefing, or doing anything anybody could reasonably object to.
I've boycotted Blizzard since they banned that competition winner who shouted out the plight of Hong Kong, just to pander to the Chicoms. Arguably, the silence and compliance of so many has given them the confidence to break their treaty obligations with respect to Hong Kong. Blizzard has blood on their hands. That was before the sexual harrasment revelations, and a whole bunch of bad deeds.
You just got to do it. Duck blizzard and their tos.
Can I use two Tartarus pro instead of the stream deck?
I don’t mind people tabbing between screens and doing individual inputs for each and every action, that’s fine. But when people start using third party software/hardware it goes too far, it’s especially toxic mentality if they use the excuse "I pay extra for it, so I deserve it" ...it’s quite literally p2w.
If you can’t do something with just a standard modern keyboard and mouse then, imo, you shouldn’t do it at all. It’s really that simple, the very few positive sides multiboxing brings to the game doesn’t get anywhere close to as big the problems multiboxing creates.
As one of the loud "Fresh TBC servers!" people, because of inflated economy etc, I wouldn’t think you’d advocate for- and show one of the biggest reasons for why the economy is inflated to begin with.
With multiboxing you can level two characters at a higher rate than any other player, but you’re againat level boosts? How is it different that you’re "paying extra" to get this benefit from someone else "paying extra" to get the same outcome?
And then the big one, with multiboxing you’re "paying extra" so you can farm/grind more efficiently. So why are gold WoW tokens bad then? People are only "paying extra" to get gold, same as you.

I use a resto shaman and warrior combo, which i will use while I level up in TBC. It's pretty incredible how good warrior is with personal healing and windfury lol

I've always hated seeing multiboxers in the world. Wish it had been against the ToS since day one. It's an unfair advantage. One person should be one person. It's cheating, no matter what Blizz says.

There are literally blue posts very recently that announce that multi boxing is an acceptable form of gameplay with the understanding that key cloning/key broadcasting is not acceptable.

If it was as easy and op as people say then why is it that there are only 2 muliboxers in the world who have boxed to gladiator? The same multiboxer is now a 7x glad on single toon playing. And there are no multibox R14s that I’m aware of. No multibox Rank 1s. (Rank 1 is the Arena feat of strength when you are higher ranked than all the other glads. Rank 1 is NOT the same as regular glad.). No boxers downed any keys on any level or downed any mythics ever.
So they really are not as powerful as people say.
Multiboxing has gotten out of hand in WoW classic. It gives players an unfair advantage in pvp in open world, simply ruining everyone else's experience when you get 5 hunters attacking someone the same level or a max level following a new toon. It's simply a pay to win that Blizzard will not stop because they make more money.

Actually quite the opposite. Playing one char isn’t challenging enough, doing dungeons on my own with 2 characters however is fun
@@Scottejaye This. When I multiboxed my 5 man team of 5 different classes, I had the most fun in Vanilla WoW ever. It was a huge challenge and I could enjoy the content at my own pace.
