I think it's mainly because one person isn't going blind into it and he's read the source material. Once you know what to look for it's very obvious what they were trying to imply in season 1. 🤷♀️

To me Charlie's eating in the first season was very obvious (at least to anyone who has ever struggled with disordered eating-soggy cereal, multiple lunches, popcorn, pizza...), which I watched before I read the books. It has surprised me to see how many people didn't notice it until S2.

Something that always bugs me is that I always thought the reason Charlie doesn’t tell Tao is b/c Nick was not out yet. Nick was telling people he was comfortable with. Even tho Tao is Charlie’s best friend, understandably Tao’s always been more unwelcoming toward Nick. Pretty unfair of Tao to be upset at Charlie for rightfully letting Nick come out at his own pace.

thank you for being among the few reactors to actually be real about where Nick drops the ball. Everyone gushes about how great Nick is, and overall he absolutely is, but he's definitely making some poor choices and decisions along the way. He's 15 so obviously he's trying his best as he's figuring a lot of things out about himself, but he does do things that affect not only Charlie, who is incredibly patient with him, but also Tao and Imogen. It's great to see him grow so quickly, but Charlie is literally the perfect boyfriend. Give our boy some flowers!!! 💐

In the comics, Tao only finds out about Nick & Charlie after Charlie shows up one morning on the school Paris trip with a hickey. Scandalous! I think maybe Alice changed it because they weren't green-lit for all 3 seasons from the beginning. I am curious how that will play out. Also, at some point Nick will need to have a heart-to-heart with his mum about Charlie's eating disorder. And obviously Olivia will crush that scene. I don't know if that will happen in season 2. Might have to wait for season 3.

Episode 6 is my favorite. The chosen family thing, finding your tribe, coming out to the queer friends... it is all so wholesome AND so real. Right? Many of us do it in college, so very cute they find their peeps now
This show is my comfort show. My babies, they are all so cute!!! I love all their friendships and relationships. I love the milkshake scene. I'm so happy that young queer people have a show like this. I love that they really put work in and got so much representation. Also, you're correct, Tori, Charlie's sister, is a true queen and actual ally.
It's honestly crazy how much of a long lasting effect bullying and homophobia has on your mental health. 💔💀 Some of these episodes are triggering 😭😭😭but I love this show
I've watched a LOT of reactors to HS S1 and every single one of them says something to the effect of "I don't condone violence but KICK HIS ASS!" Cracks me up every time! They didn't really get into it in the show, but Ben was much worse in the books in systematically undermining Charlie's confidence and the intense bullying also did a number on him.
I’m only mid way through the vid but I think you guys said that you’d read the books - I do feel bad for Tao not knowing and I understand his anger about it BUT reading the books/the webtoon comics we obvs find out that Tao accidentally outed Charlie to the entire school which is why Charlie is so hesitant to tell him about him and Nick bc he’s scared he’ll do it again. Which is low-key mentioned in episode 7 but I do wish in the show they’d shown more of that rather than portraying Tao as just the jealous friend - his entire thing with protecting Charlie is down to him feeling guilty about outing him which led to his bullying in the first place so he’s just trying to protect him
Hi guys! So glad YT recommended your channel to me... I've been looking at reaction videos to Heartstopper for months now, mainly because I wanted to see how it translated to a US audience. Some have disappointed (very few actually!) but obviously not yours!!! You may be interested in Toby Donovan's (Isaac) vlog showing behind-the-scenes, it's really good fun AND informative... a few interesting things I've found out; Cormack (Harry) is one of the loveliest lads and had a pretty hard time being mean! His interviews are good. Sebastian Croft (Ben) is the same, he has some good interviews too - so have Joe and Kit, they're all worth watching, trust me! Here's a few things for you; did you see the author, Alice Oseman on the train when they go to the beach? The series differs from the books because, as Alice says, writing for the screen is very different than writing novels/novellas! Plus they didn't know if they were going to get a second series so it was written as a stand-alone series in the first place! And lastly (I can hear the sighs of relief here in Britland!) when Imogen (Rhea Norwood) says "I think I can do better!" it's actually a more light hearted remark than it first sounds... Brit irony that's all, it means just what she says - better off as friends and not going to the next level... Please try and catch up on the cast interviews and I'm looking forward to your reactions to S2. Take care and thanks for a great reaction series...

kit and joe who played nick and charlie is a very good acters they have a speical bond between them and they got very strong friendship and there love for each other are so real their passion is so beautiful and they got very strong friendship i love them so much they support each other and beening there for each other its so magic and lovely to watch and there chemistry is strong and they ment to be together and every time when they see each other u can see the glow in there eyes and they so happy to see each other and every thing is so well done.every time i watch the series and every episosdes are perfect and beauitful and lovely to watch and i will never get sick of it because i love so much and i have been watching it every day and at night that how much i love it and i cant waite until 3rd of august when season 2 come out and to see what going to happen its going to be good i love it to much and every acters in the show done so well in every way in this beautiful show

I don't recall anyone else doing that, either. Harry's also always doing his gay schtick with Charlie, Nick and Tao. I know he's supposed to be the series resident homophobe and one of the foils to Charlie and Nick, but there seems more to it than that. Harry also asks on occasion why his rugby mates haven't brought any girls, but do we ever see Harry with a girl? Why is Harry so obsessed with "gay?" When Harry and Nick got into their little bruhaha it was pretty toe-to-toe, but I feel like this was a pretty even match. When Tao and Harry mixed it up, I kind of thought Harry was pulling his punches a bit, and it was more like a homoerotic wrestling match. Does Harry have some sort of love-hate thing for the school queers?Once, he even looked after Nick with what appeared to me as a "longing look." It's almost like he craves attention from them even if it's negative attention. Also, Ben frequently seems to be lurking near Harry, too. I don't think my suspicions about Harry are ever going to be resolved though. Quel dommage.

Have you guys watched Shadowhunters or Roswell New Mexico 2019 ,both of the last two are adorable and have gay weddings🎉❤🎉 I think I'm a little more partial for Roswell New Mexico recently. And Coors the guy that plays Caleb and from Pretty Little Liars is in it as Alex who is a young gay Airman coming home to his high school sweetheart Michael Guerin. Who happens to be an alien. But Tyler who now plays Alex doesn't know that. Lgbtq diverse and has Mysteries and Aliens it is totally worth it I love the show
