  • The Trumpeter 16th Scale King Tiger tank model comes in a BIG box! Let that be the first thing said! So big, it has taken me days to just get to where I am, section 11 of 45 in the huge instruction manual! This is gonna be a long build!
Forgive the quick nature of this first part video, as I barely had time to get it shot, and hope to get to a turntable and static camera for parts 2 onward, so I can properly show the kit from all angles.
Plus, I will have the wheels on it and maybe most of the hull interior.
As for the turret and the finished outer paintwork, we will have to see how many parts it takes.
I may very well do some videos in between parts of this build, so as to have more to show within the next month or so.
This is a big kit! Biggest and most intensive I have yet built!
I am still not working with an airbrush, so painting some of it as I go, takes time, as I want good, clean coats, and them sprayed and such, and that takes time also.
I can already tell I will be leaving out some minor details inside, but what, I am not sure yet. Some you just will never see, but to keep the build integrity up to par, I may have to build most parts as they are, and some may or may not be painted in all areas. Not all hoses my be connected either.
This thing is rich! SO many parts!
A full alphabet's worth of sprue sheets of parts, and that doesn't include repeated one, and treads, and other specialty parts.
Anyway, I am learning a lot, about King Tigers, German tanks in general, machine parts, ENGINES, etc.....things I do not normally make models of.
This is a big learning curve, so hang with me, and you'll see something cool at the end, I assure you!
    Til part 2....
    Take care!

Thanks. This is a very daunting kit. I am glad I got it, but man is it tough. Not as tough as a big sail ship maybe, but in it's way, it is still very tough. Thanks for the kind words and keep on watching! It will grow into something...interesting! And the guys in my model club are the best! I would venture man for man, and lady, as we do have one, we are a top flight group! One of our guys went to a model show recently and snagged two major awards and he wasn't even trying! Some great talent! Some great camaraderie for sure! I might get this kit done due to their support! 😜
