What a brilliant video! 👏👏👏 Absolutely first rate. And your observations at the start about certain other supposed legendary builds is spot on. So I’m guessing the dude posted the run where he didn’t die. Oh and you were on Inside 4 before you used your first med kit. I’ve seen videos where they used 2 on the outside area! 🤣😂 Anyway, back to you. Great work mate! 👍
I have run through DUA Legendary probably a hundred times--here are a few slight changes I would suggest. First, if this is your first time through, ND makes it a lot easier because you can burn on 3 ADDS at once which will stretch your ammo, make them less likely to rush, and allows you to mark enemies that are hiding and then use a Chonga or hound as a damage battery. If you run ND use the ND backpack to push the CD shared across targets from 60% to 100%. I would also suggest an AR like the Carbine 7 over the M1A--I have done it with both weapon types many times and they both work, but the sheer number of rounds you will be firing can flat wear you out with a single shot. I would highly recommend anyone new run this with Scorpio as your secondary as it will save you many many times. Scorpio = Clutch Master. To be candid, if you haven't gotten the Scorpio yet you really shouldn't be thinking about running Legendary. Better to wait till you have better gear and more experience. I agree that the turret is the way to go for your second skill, but be more selective where you place it because it can either help or hinder depending on where you put it down. Some examples of this would be the drug lab / kitchen. Hutchler places it directly forward of his hide then has it blocking his fire lines for the hounds and first wave. This placement also encourages the first wave to split left/right which you want to avoid. Place the turret on the table on the left wall and this will keep enemies to the right side of the room and all but prevent rushers from your blind side (left side) and you will have clear fire lines. The second issue with putting the turret directly in your fire lines is that when ADDS shoot at it they are also shooting at you inadvertently--sort of the opposite of what you want to do when drawing agro. Another example is in the pool room--he places it almost directly forward of his hide and once again divides the fire-teams left right, has the turret blocking his center fire line, and will have a lot of the agro fire drawn by the turret hitting him. A better placement is on the middle of the first pool table which is left of the hide and pushes enemies to his right. Heal fields are like swimming in wet concrete and in SOME instances trying to clear a room with one or more heal fields is all but pointless and it makes more sense to fall back a bit and draw the enemy out of their heal fields. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. One example of this is the mattress room. Stand on the left of the entry door as Hutchler did to start, and if you are able to kill the healer right off great--keep killing adds until you're done or another heal field goes up. If they do get heal field/s up and you don't have line of sight to shoot them, drop back to the cased opening right before the door (so out in the long walkway), set your turret on the freezer/counter to your right so that anything coming through the door--the one you were just at--will turn to their left and focus on it. Use your shield peak with Scorpio and it is child's play to kill everything as it comes through the door--in about 2 minutes there will be a literal pile of bodies in that entryway. Lastly, I would suggest you go into your settings and move your mini map so it is centered about on your agents rear end. Scale it down a bit so it is not blocking your view. This puts it right on the very edge of your sight line while shooting so you can keep an eye out for hostiles trying to flank you--and Hutchler is right when he said they will ALWAYS be trying to push past your flanks. Having the mini map there allows you to look at it more quickly and frequently and is less likely to pull your aim off target. As Hutchler said, Legendary content is actually not nearly as hard as it seems at first--provided you have good gear and some experience in the game. It's an awesome feeling getting through the strongholds. To put it in perspective, our first successful run through DUA took over two hours and felt like scaling Everest. Now it is a leisurely 18-20 minutes with casual chit-chatting and having a snack while playing.
Thanks for the additional info! I think the striker vs nego being easier debate purely comes down to personal preference, which is why I included both as viable options in this vid. I personally think that Striker is marginally easier because the huge single target DPS can help to recover from mistakes/rushers (of which there will be many on someone's first run through), but I also completely understand the argument for nego being easier due to enemies dying faster, as long as the user plays proactively and predicts enemy movements. The reason for my suggestion to run ceska vigi instead of nego backpack is actually in-line with that; recovering some single target damage whilst still maintaining the damage sharing aspect at the core of nego can help to bridge the gap! Ultimately, my suggestion to anyone trying would be to try both and work out which matches them best, with aims to eventually transition to nego for faster clear speed later down the line.
@@hutchler I agree it will come down to preference--especially at first--as the best build is usually the build you're best at using. I think new players will have a little trouble managing ammo because you will burn through a LOT of ammo, and ND helps with this. I also remember the biggest problem I had early on was an enemy would get fairly wide on my right side and then duck behind cover. Every time I would "slice the pie" too far to my left they would pop up and nail me, then duck again. The net result is your visible slice of the battlefield or "safe angle" gets very narrow and you risk getting overrun and swamped. With ND you just mark the enemy hiding wide right, (or hiding anywhere really) and find somebody else to shoot which will kill them both. Either way Legendary DUA is a ton of fun and everyone should give it a go using your excellent guide.
@Hutchler THX for your amazing explanation. Now I'm on my jorney to solo DUA. It will be a loooooong journey. And those healing boxes @inside 1 are a nightmare at least for a player like me. At least i have something to improve on.
Im a returning player, took a looong break. Back in the day I used to run this solo with a skill build. Striker drone and turret. Placement and timing of deployment were critical, also target prioritization. Overlapping the skills a little also helped. Using things like in sync, perfect spike, kinetic momentum, combined arms (or tech support) ... all of which seem to buff and proc each other. It was very effective. When everything was rocking the adds just melted and it was great at distracting with the suicide drones. These days the exotic holster and AR would probably make it more potent. All controlled from a safe place.
Your right garage 2 is by far the hardest not just of that mission but any mission I'd say. It's a room that can take longer to get through than the rest of the mission combined when it all goes tits up. End up having to take cover in entrance room with doorway gettin hit over an over with grenades an can't get back out
Yeah it's absolute pain solo. Oddly a very easy room in group runs though - funny how a few people make such a big difference! It also really pains me that it's so near to the end of the mission - nothing worse than getting there on a super clean run and wiping xD
Thanx for an excellent explanation breakdown. I've yet not tried this myself but I'm getting ready so this video was very helpful! 👍 Subbed & Liked too!
now i have a new couple builds to grind for. just recently started being able to do heroic solo after coming back after a couple years. so this looks like fun
I', now reaching Garage 2 constantly. But this room is feeling like impossible. But i will get there. Can not thank you enough for the explanation and guide. For me the M4 with Fast Hands did the trick.
Awesome content, now we have the ammunition all we need to do is use it. I find Roosevelt to be the toughest, will you please do that. For me personally the triggers are the most important. Thanks again from your big fan+!!!
I probably missed it, did you show setup for Famas? I caught Fast Hands talent, couldn’t find the rest. Also, thoughts on switching to Ninja Bike Bag with Striker setup? Thanks
Just did it myself. I wiped about halfway through after clearing the entrace in one go, then got stuck back at the entrace for a bit. pushed through and made it to the boss room, and died 33 times in said room lol. I blame getting frustrated. I need to optimize the build more for sure, killing drone operators was an issue in the boss room. Total time of 2 hours, but I had fun c:
LMAO I'm all for creators sharing off meta builds to keep the game interesting, but misleading viewers to make them think said builds are the best option for solo legendary in order to farm views has never sat right with me xD
I think I'm going to subscribe to this channel because I definitely need to start hitting heroic n legendary sightings. My current bill is a 4-Piece Hunter build with apex predator And Memento backpack. I modified The corrs on certain pieces so I can have a hybrid setup. That way I can have all the best attributes from armor DPS and skill as well as being able to work through some of the hardest
I posted on this before but recently revisited as I wanted to see how using these same principles can apply to groups when there are so many new players to the game trying legendary. I have to say even in groups these principles largely hold true. With groups where players are trying legendary below SHD 1000 you can really carry them a long way with this. It isn't easy as the NPCs will behave differently and you will have new guys running in with "ONE MAN ARMY" builds and blocking all your shots but it does work. I just tell them to go right and I keep left and it usually works like a charm assuming they have some idea of how the game works
Thanks for the video; super clear explanation! You are definitely in for a great job as an analyst , anywhere. If I had a company I'd offer you a job on the spot. Subscribing straight away. 👍
I hope you all enjoyed! If you have any questions, feel free to drop them in the comments and I'll get back to you ASAP! Also, whilst this advice is transferrable to the other strongholds, let me know if you'd like room by room guides for any of them in particular!
I've seen a couple videos with people talking over a run but you did it the best. Loved the editing showing your target priorities....would be thankful to see the other strongholds too
@@edwardlin4589 Tbh I'm not sure - but the mods don't matter at all. Probably shield health on the shield, and most likely no or worthless mods on the turret xD
Great vid !!! The problem though is I have tried EVERYTHING and cannot get through a legendary mission! I have very high damage skill builds but it’s always a waste of time. I will try your build and see how it goes . Which is better, striker or negotiator??
Imo skill builds really struggle in solo legendary content. I've seen skill builds work in group legendaries, but imo they're just a really slow and boring way to clear. Strikers or nego is just a matter of personal preference; I find Strikers marginally easier to clear, but can comfortably clear in both. Others may say the opposite. Try both and see what works best for you :)
One thing you could mention is weakpoints, especially on dogs. I.e. hit the legs and it will deal damage directly to health. I personally for DUA at least, use the hunters fury/headhunter regulus m870 build for the majority. But i do agree for someone inexperienced, this is the best way. I did my first solo legendary at shd300 with a focus rifle build. It was a painfully bad run, but now I'm working towards a sub20 solo time! So it CAN be done!
Noice! Yeah I also use HF HH throughout but it's not a beginner friendly strat by any means xD. Good shout on the dogs - I actually intend on doing a full video at some point reviewing all different direct health points across faction chungas, dogs etc

@@N3m3sis_Gaming Nice, I'll check them out. Yah, chopper skip is a nice save for sure - I use it in my solo runs and I'm on pace for 12-13 as and when I find the motivation to finish a full run xD

Well done probably the best solo legendary runs I have seen , very well explained and executed . I got as far athe drug lab before the boss and that took me a couple of hours with a skill build. Maybe I will try striker build but not very good with the focus talent and the scope.
With the chest piece I notice you run a pristine , is that the best focus piece given I'm giving up a gear set talent since I'm not using a marksmans rifle. Better than using ceska or groupo with focus talent. Great content 👍
Finally a div2 creator who knows wtf he is talking about and doesn’t click bait like Nothingbutaloser. Also, are you going to be doing videos for all of the other legendary strongholds?
Hey man, love the build and the vid. Clear and to the point! My question is - what's the alternative chest piece for the build? I neither have the piece, nor like the 8x scopes And what other weapon except Famas would work ok? Any AR with big mag and high firerate?
I didn't finish it solo...yet...but I finally completed a legendary. I was streaming on my discord and my buddy who got frustrated with div2 and hasn't played in almost a year decided to join me....he was getting excited that I was doing it solo and getting through it....long story short...thank you for the guide...it was a big help. My buddy and I decided to tackle Roosevelt Island and we did it!.... The marauders got us a few times but I switched builds and we got it!
Hey - chest piece is pristine example which is a named item with a fixed talent (perfect focus). Backpack is strikers backpack for the strikers variant, and ceska vigilance backpack for the negotiators variant.
Huge fan of meta dps here.At the moment im runing striker with carbine 7.Definetely gona try this one.Question.Whats the point of all those builds right now when TU17 is around the corner? They still gona be viable for example next week?Thx and keep up the good work
Nice! Thanks for the kind words :) TU17 won't change the meta, at least not as far as DPS is concerned - so all of your TU16 builds should play identically to how they did before :)
Great vid, only problem for me so far is that every enemy and their mother go out of the turret spot in entrance and flank the living hell out of me. No matter where I place my turret to try to draw aggro. They just ignore it like it's not even there.
Thank you! Regulus HH doesn't require any shieldpeaking - that said it's a much more advanced strategy, and not one I'd necessarily recommend for someone's first time
Thank you! Great builds and good guide. Even after 2+ years and 32 different builds i learned something new! The one thing i've changed is replace backpack with Memento and as an alternative to the Famas you could go with either a Police M4 (AR) or a Police UMP-45 (SMG). Note that the smg makes up for the missing crits from the Ceska. Also i prefer In Synch on weapons (up to +30 weapon & skill damage). And a decent alternative to the riffle is the exotic Dread Edict, goes well with the chest and gives you bonus armor upon reload ;-)
You said that the AI on legendary is clever but from the video all i can see is that everyone is a rusher and there are no class involved at all, which is also problematic on Heroic. It is really irking me seeing snipers rushing to me with their pistols and stuff. In the video everyone is rushing to your position, no team work whatsoever. I am struggling to enjoy everything above Challenging, cause the AI is just broken mess. Good example is when the rusher is rushing to your position, running full sprint and he took away your entire armor. I hate how the AI can literally cheat, levitate, sometimes go through walls and sprint-shoot, crouch and go prone. Player cant do anything like that, it is annoying. But overall cool videos man, it is interesting to see other builds and stuff from experienced players.
nice vid, question though. wouldn't the negotiators chest and backpack be more beneficial with the difference of 5 marked instead of 3 as well as the 100% instead of 60%? and I'll never say no to other Solo missions in legendary.
Hey! Thanks :) Negotiators backpack is totally viable. You lose a bit of single target for more multi-target, which works out - you just have to play more mindfully as you'll struggle if you're pushed hard. Nego chest is a very weak piece imo, as it's up against the huge damage that other chests can give you. As a result, I would personally never run it other than as part of specific raid speedrun strategies.
after 70 tries i finally made it to garage before grenadiers took me out. also found out strikers + perfect focus isnt for me. negotiators worked, despite taking longer time to kill.
Just try this myself out today
And I did it on my first try with about 4-5 times on boss room

What an informative video about how to tackle legendary. I love it and I am def going to try this a bit :)
@Hutchler THX for your amazing explanation. Now I'm on my jorney to solo DUA. It will be a loooooong journey. And those healing boxes @inside 1 are a nightmare at least for a player like me. At least i have something to improve on.
best advice I've ever received, hands down!
thank you so much, i am lacking skill to do legendaries on my own. positioning, targeting , picking what target over what enemy.
Top guide video - nice 👌
I did not know that Legendary has consistent composition. I learned something today!
Thanks. Been wanting to solo legendary for a while. Get very frustrated. I will try this guide to help me through it.
It also really pains me that it's so near to the end of the mission - nothing worse than getting there on a super clean run and wiping xD
i forgot to comment. sorry hutch. i have watched many other youtubers but you sir are a legend.
Thanx for an excellent explanation breakdown. I've yet not tried this myself but I'm getting ready so this video was very helpful! 👍 Subbed & Liked too!
Ayo, that's exactly what I was looking for man, thanks
Glad to hear! Thanks for watching :)
now i have a new couple builds to grind for. just recently started being able to do heroic solo after coming back after a couple years. so this looks like fun
sick video, I wonder if I can manage on console..
1 question; what happens when u break the chungas chain ? (edit: u mentioned it; you stun them)
I', now reaching Garage 2 constantly. But this room is feeling like impossible. But i will get there. Can not thank you enough for the explanation and guide. For me the M4 with Fast Hands did the trick.
First off thanks for your info on the build and recommendations thanks for the tips I've watched you on here since you started doing the solo stuff
Excellent, very interesting, for now, beyond me 😅 i get smashed before the second wave at entrance.
Awesome content, now we have the ammunition all we need to do is use it. I find Roosevelt to be the toughest, will you please do that. For me personally the triggers are the most important. Thanks again from your big fan+!!!
Thank you! Yes, Roosevelt can be rough. I'll stick it on the list :)
I probably missed it, did you show setup for Famas?
I caught Fast Hands talent, couldn’t find the rest.
Also, thoughts on switching to Ninja Bike Bag with Striker setup?
Thanks
I have gotten to the final battle of district union solo many times but the second wave gets me every time.
Nice. This is super helpful! GG's
Muffin gonna go zoooooooom in solo lego now!
This guide is LEGENDARY 🙌 very helpful thank you 😎👍
Please keep more content coming!!! Fantastic video sir!!!
Bravo Hutchler, you never disappoint! XD
Awesome video 👍
Damn I’ve been doing that shield peeking technique since I started playing, I didn’t even know it was a thing. It just made sense for me to do it
Any chance on a new strats video since they fixed the shield peeking?
Legend dude, absolute legend ; )
I have no words! Great job man!
Glad you enjoyed. Cheers for watching :)
Nice video man! Keep it up 👍🏾
thanks bud keep it coming
Nice dig at the start :D it must take a lifetime to clear in a PfE build. Good video.
LMAO I'm all for creators sharing off meta builds to keep the game interesting, but misleading viewers to make them think said builds are the best option for solo legendary in order to farm views has never sat right with me xD
whats a pfe build? lol
Great guideline for priority focus.
Hi,good and useful!!!video,we would like to see more 😉 (other legendary missions, with room by room guides) Thanks!
Great video, very nicely done. Next please 🤣
100%. If you can solo a legendary, you can carry a group - and that's a great feeling :)
Thanks for the video; super clear explanation! You are definitely in for a great job as an analyst , anywhere. If I had a company I'd offer you a job on the spot. Subscribing straight away. 👍
Love the content! ❤💪🔥
Thank you!!
Awesome video, just subbed…
Wouldn’t Memento for solo yield more for the Striker build?
Thank you!
No, Memento is a pretty weak piece when it comes to DPS. Most backpack talents (and the striker backpack) outdamage it by a long shot!
Loved the editing showing your target priorities....would be thankful to see the other strongholds too
Hi Hutchler!. Thanks for this vid. Wondering what changes here for group play, or will you be releasing group builds? Thanks
Hey Hutchler, could you provide what mods you typically use on the shield and drone?
@@edwardlin4589 Tbh I'm not sure - but the mods don't matter at all. Probably shield health on the shield, and most likely no or worthless mods on the turret xD
@@elaith169 I can do a group run! That said, basically the same composition with the addition of a CC player should get you through it easily!
Really Nice Work
Thanks !
@@hutchler ok bro , thank you 👍
One thing you could mention is weakpoints, especially on dogs. I.e. hit the legs and it will deal damage directly to health.
@@hutchler I have a few videos up on my channel, i think my current pb is 21 min. The only other thing I can think of if time is a factor is double chopper skip.
@@N3m3sis_Gaming Nice, I'll check them out. Yah, chopper skip is a nice save for sure - I use it in my solo runs and I'm on pace for 12-13 as and when I find the motivation to finish a full run xD
@@hutchler nice. Do you have any videos of your faster runs? Also, I'm assuming you play on pc. Would love to get you into my speeds team of you're interested
@@N3m3sis_Gaming Not solo ones no, but I intend on getting one at some point. I've got vids of our group dua runs in the works though, which I'll post when we have a time we're happy with - currently at 7:56 :)
Absolutely - add me on discord and I'd be happy to join at some point. For full transparency, my schedule is a bit messy atm due to work and other speed teams though!
Well done probably the best solo legendary runs I have seen , very well explained and executed . I got as far athe drug lab before the boss and that took me a couple of hours with a skill build. Maybe I will try striker build but not very good with the focus talent and the scope.
Really glad you found it useful. Thanks for watching and GL with your future attempts :)
Very well done video. Thank you.
Brilliant guide - thanks for that.
With the chest piece I notice you run a pristine , is that the best focus piece given I'm giving up a gear set talent since I'm not using a marksmans rifle. Better than using ceska or groupo with focus talent. Great content 👍
Hey! Thanks :)
Yes, pristine is best in slot even though you're losing a brand set bonus - 60% TWD from the talent is huge!
Brilliant!
Very good vid
This is awesome, thank you!
Finally a div2 creator who knows wtf he is talking about and doesn’t click bait like Nothingbutaloser. Also, are you going to be doing videos for all of the other legendary strongholds?
Haha, thank you! If the demand is there, I'm happy to do a walkthrough for the others in the future :)
@@hutchler The demand IS there. Get busy.
Hey man, love the build and the vid. Clear and to the point!
My question is - what's the alternative chest piece for the build?
I neither have the piece, nor like the 8x scopes
And what other weapon except Famas would work ok? Any AR with big mag and high firerate?
Almost got it...gonna do it tonight...got stuck in the big garage with the lift....almost had it last night
Nice work, good luck! That garage is really tough, so don't be disheartened if it becomes a sticking point. Keep it up!
Great video. Please do legendary Capitol building. :)
Superb...thank you.
Maybe I missed it but what talents you using on chest and backpack and what is the set you using for chest and backpack.
Hey - chest piece is pristine example which is a named item with a fixed talent (perfect focus). Backpack is strikers backpack for the strikers variant, and ceska vigilance backpack for the negotiators variant.
Good stuff bud.
Huge fan of meta dps here.At the moment im runing striker with carbine 7.Definetely gona try this one.Question.Whats the point of all those builds right now when TU17 is around the corner? They still gona be viable for example next week?Thx and keep up the good work
Nice! Thanks for the kind words :)
TU17 won't change the meta, at least not as far as DPS is concerned - so all of your TU16 builds should play identically to how they did before :)
Great vid, only problem for me so far is that every enemy and their mother go out of the turret spot in entrance and flank the living hell out of me. No matter where I place my turret to try to draw aggro. They just ignore it like it's not even there.
You should do a guide for every legendary mission ind the game, with recommend builds.
This is lit af Hutchy Wutchy. Excellent guide for newcomers!
Thank you Thinky Winky!!!
How do you auto go into scope after each reload please?
Nice Video, What build do you recommend for Soloing without using the shield peaking exploit?
Solo legendary content with an SMG would quite difficult
Very helpful, thanks👍🏻
nice vid, question though. wouldn't the negotiators chest and backpack be more beneficial with the difference of 5 marked instead of 3 as well as the 100% instead of 60%? and I'll never say no to other Solo missions in legendary.
Hey! Thanks :)
Negotiators backpack is totally viable.
