People, Nemesis are easy if you think out of the box. The only thing you need is your side arm and… Something else, that has like 90% chance to spawn during your loops. I ain’t gonna say exactly what is, I don’t want nerfs. You don"t need brute force or complex strategies… You just have to think, and use your sidearm.
@MrHJordan look at the ‘get into cover’ etc prompts - they’re quite obviously mouse and keyboard. Mouse and keyboard has no aim assist, thus it’d be pointless trying to use ‘aim assist abuse’ tools
Thanks for the breakdown. Only been playing it for a couple days and it's kicking my arse! And I'm at level 4k and consider myself a decent player. Me and a friend hit loop four and shit hits the fan and were overwhelmed. Cool addition to the coolest game ever IMHO.
RNG stands for random number generator. In gaming terms, this is used to refer to anything that's random - so for instance, talent options presented are random, thus this random nature can be referred to as RNG :)
I just started playing 2 days ago & got the challenge kill Nemesis in projects. I am finding it super hard. Die after 2 or 3 tiles played. How long before the nemesis comes out ?.. Should i even bother with this weekly challenge ? or just ignore it for the time ?..
It sounds solid, imma try it in a little bit. See I’ve been farming this in random groups since it launched, I’ve seen about thirty five nemesis at this point. I have yet to see one take health damage, basically the group walks through each room zero problems maybe thee downs pre nemesis then we all get to the fancy nemesis room run into the first cover try to peg a couple shots and get absolutely stern rolled in seconds. Also what is a revive token because they don’t work in the nemesis room at all.
The biggest enemy of the division 2 is CTD when you playing. I lost count how many times it ruined my gaming experience. The descent mode is not an exception.
Decent sucks because you either get a good weapon then no good talents drop, then next run you get good talents and crap weapons. I got bullet hell, and it only gave me crap rifles. Many weapons need attachments to be decent. So frustrating and this mode should be fun!!!
The rewards for time and effort just isn't worth it. For 2 hour and half sessions I got 2 simulation packages. With garbage in both, that wasn't god rolled as they said it would be. I'm not playing it again until they change things. I also find it frankly boring as well. I'm loving the CP level 4 old season plan rewards. This gives me a reason to grind. Unlike Descent.
Enjoyable, but a waste of my time, Rewards are nothing special, I haven't seen any so called blue prints yet and most certainly have not beat the Nemesis yet. The group is either wiped on the way , by Black Tusk or The Nemesis's Launch Bomber Drones blitzkrieg style as well as constantly spamming, Hives, Fire Flys (of all variety) or we all run out of ammo, and the Nemesis just casually melee us dead without a scratch on them. So I'm in no rush to return .
@@my0866 I got the Test Subject blueprint from a reconstructed cache on my loop 32 run, but I didn't get one on my loop 25 or loop 35 run (I also got less caches on this run than the loop 32). the leaderboard looks like its already been filled by bots or people who used hacks and known exploits in the past lmao, there's a guy shd 98k in the top 10???
This guide is great but it also emphasizes for me just how limited Descent is as a game mode. There’s just not enough variety in options to stop you from doing effectively the same thing every time. It’s too easy to force a given build most of the time and that’s just not what most rogue-lites do.
what determines whether you get exotic talents? is it random or can you inflluence it? I have had some runs where I get offered one, and some where I get given 3
I think it random. The first one is guaranteed at finishing loop 1. I got a second one during loop 2. Doctor Home talent paired with the Lady Death talent is a remarkable combo, LOL.
Your exotic talents list and weapon choice definitely need work. Breathe Free + Bullet hell is crucial for higher loop runs. I should try incorporating diamondback into my runs for more guaranteed crit. And I’d choose rifles over lmgs for ranged attacks. For offensive talents, I’d highly recommend composure, gunslinger and versatile as they are raw damage for literally using cover and switching your weapons. Leadership, even solo, is also slept on, as you can easily get a shit ton of bonus armor just for moving cover-to-cover and even over short distances like moving to the same piece cover 2 feet away. And I notice a lot in your early loops where you almost die because you’re openly pushing a door where you can just as safely do so from cover. That strategy legit sucks after loop 1 as outcast, hyena, and cleaners rushers exist and will either immediately fuck you up or stun lock you to be fucked up by someone else. Otherwise, great tips on resource/currency management.
Appreciate the feedback, and this will be valuable to anyone else visiting the comments! I should've mentioned in the video, that the footage is from the previous WR speedrun so doesn't follow the same ruleset, and is played unnecessarily risky hence the few close calls (anything for speed, right?) :D
@@hutchler Thanks for replying! Should’ve recognized the speed run traits.. my bad. Also, I found that the best ammo for nemesis is incendiary. It locks him for a while where as he’ll just ignore shock altogether and foaming him up close is risky. And be mindful of the skills that you take to him as he’ll usually use the same or a variant
I totally disagree on things u said. by far best exotic talent is plague of outcast. next in yellow where is trauma? next lot of red talent have to do with headshots but console players aren't shitting headshots like that. People beat nemesis all the time i hit easy rooms and at nemesis by loop 5 and beat him in 30 seconds.
Yeah, I’m really confused as to how you can afford to play aggressively. I don’t see you getting shot in any of the footage. I feel like I’m getting shot from every angle, in every single room.
My personal view is that Ubisoft wasted their time on this descent and would have been better spent on new areas like access to all buildings or make the DZ more assessable to the single players PvE with all difficulties on the map, or at lease made descent (Rename) as the training camp on how and where our agents become an agents and have to achieve a certain level to become an agent so as to enter the main game.
What kind of build are you using, and how are you dying to them: do they rush you, their skills down you? I don't have problems with the rogues unless I get them in the combustion lab. I had them on loop 33, and it took around 30 seconds to defeat them. Using a shotgun and staying in cover (especially elevated) are how I deal with them; you can quickly aim out of cover and shoot once without them shooting you, which favours high damage weapons. Also, they aren't particularly aggressive either. I use a crit-based build, breathe free, plague of the outcasts (POTO), and the M870 & magnum. The M870 allows me to get a lot of instant damage to the rogues (if they are close), then I can switch to the magnum for higher POTO ticks if needed; this usually defeats them in 1-2 magazines. If they are far away, I will just use a stable AR to build POTO stacks, then switch to the magnum. The decoy is a great way to take aggro from you and their skills,, grenades are a good way to get them out of cover, and knowing common spawns helps.
descent is fun, but its extremely unbalanced for group play and solo isnt any better, loot doesnt exist, xp gains arent worth it, in the amount of time i get 8 lvls in descent i can get 20 outside
Yes, but only because I view it as a rogue-like game mode as opposed to trying to benefit my character in the main game. And the only reason I'm able to do that is that I have everything I need in the main game, so I'm not really looking for material reward
I like the concept of making a build with multiple talents, but room after room of killing NPCs is dull. Felt too much like Resistance. At this point, it just feels like they're half-assing this game.

The game actually runs better on console! I have 10k hours in Division on Xbox and can confirm that game stability and the likes are infinitely better on console.
Afraid that's just not true lol. I understand what you mean about K+M, but I find it a bit harder actually on PC than Console, so much so that I bought a controller for PC. Having said that, it's really about the stability of the game on PC and constant crashes more than anything. @@hutchler so you have spent over a year in game just on console? Lol I get your point but the likelihood of that being sn exact number or even a ballpark is unlikely.

The difficulty rating of rooms doesn't affect the actual difficulty whatsoever - and obviously if you're going for the fastest possible time you want to raise the heat percentage as quickly as possible. In casual runs with friends, we'll take whatever room yields the best chance of bettering our builds - whether that's a boss, hard, medium or easy build. The speedrun I did and this guide are two separate entities; when you run for a world record, of course it's different in both build and strategy to when you run for fun/high floors.
Ima save yall a bunch of time. Just get entrench every time you see it. At tier 6 it Literally gives you a bunch of armor every 3 seconds from a headshot. Let that sink in for a moment. He never even put it as a good talent when its the best talent in descent because it gives you the best survivability. You can definitely hit tier 7 before nemesis if you choose double blue rooms.
Appreciate the tips, but I think you missed the part where I said everyone likes to run it a different way, and this is just the setup myself and friends have reached loop 50+!
@hutchler I could go to loop 100 if my friends stayed on. & it don't matter what playstyle you choose. Gaining a full armor every 3 seconds at tier 10 is unmatched by anything you put against it. Clutch & preservation can't compete with it. Like I said Try it then tell me it's not the best. Especially when running the shotgun sniper combo. That's a free medkit every 3 seconds.
@@GeniusButton Like I said, you're welcome to play it how you want, with whatever setup you want. This is just my/my friends go-to for high flooring! Sounds like you've got your preferences figured out, which is cool. Look forward to seeing the loop 100 run!
@hutchler ok wise guy let's really talk about this. Unhinged tier 10 you'll be shooting the sky without brace & not being in cover. & even with the other 2 at tier 10 (which take of more space in your talent slots) youll still shoot upward without being in cover & makes run & gun harder. Vs optimist at tier 10 that gives you 30% weapon damage for every 6% missing from mag that you didnt even mention. Go all blue? For what when tier 6 skill with tier 10 surge gives your reviver hive a 83 second cool down with 7 revives for your teammates. Clutch better for what playstyle? because you almost died like 3 times in your own video from solo unscaled, untanky wunsealed, 1 nemesis. When 1 headshot could've replenished your armor. & to top all this off you're using precise for headshot damage but won't use entrench which works off headshot but want to talk playstyles? if you playing high floors you know to pick the 1st talent you would use at the high floors because around floor 40 you should already have 6 reds, 5 blues & 5 yellows all at max tier lol. So why not pick up 1st talent you use in the high floors regardless of what it is & just save your money to open up more slots every time you return to to start? Make it make sense my guy? 1 bullet full heal vs how many bullets to get a full heal?. It's only common sense. & going all blue makes the killing take to long when you can speck into reds & yellows to give yourself better survivability by killing faster & using glue or jammer or emp with a faster cooldown. You talk about high floors like yall the only ones who been there 😆

Entrenched is your friend...
@8:44 .. by it's absence, I guess we can infer that Insulated is B tier?
Loving the Cronus shaking left to right when aiming in. Ha ha ha
Im on PC, mouse and keyboard so obviously no Cronus lmao. The shaking is called being impatient and spamming A + D keys
@MrHJordan look at the ‘get into cover’ etc prompts - they’re quite obviously mouse and keyboard. Mouse and keyboard has no aim assist, thus it’d be pointless trying to use ‘aim assist abuse’ tools
not to forget the nsa tech vendor perm bonus
Awesome guide man!! Thanks! 🙏
I think I'll like it more when I get a little more time into playing it. As for now thanks for the advice!
Thanks for the breakdown. Only been playing it for a couple days and it's kicking my arse! And I'm at level 4k and consider myself a decent player. Me and a friend hit loop four and shit hits the fan and were overwhelmed. Cool addition to the coolest game ever IMHO.
Nice guide, have a subscription
❤ thanks great video
What a brilliant video.
Interesting video, a lot of very good points. What is an RNG?
The revive tokens let you revive a team mate after they have went down and bled out/been killed.
@@gagedilley5238 is that what they are for! How do you use them?
@@derekmclellan7337 you revive the person who died 🤣 couldn't be easier my friend
The biggest enemy of the division 2 is CTD when you playing. I lost count how many times it ruined my gaming experience.
The descent mode is not an exception.
agreed. I have gotten no less than 3 CTD as i approach 100% Heat. The Arena fight before nemesis locks up and CTD occurs..
My personal exotic reco would be bullet hell, plague, and doctor home.
Decent sucks because you either get a good weapon then no good talents drop, then next run you get good talents and crap weapons. I got bullet hell, and it only gave me crap rifles. Many weapons need attachments to be decent. So frustrating and this mode should be fun!!!
Let me know what you think of Descent! I know it's had very mixed reactions since go-live!
I'm not sure how you get them, but it seems inconsistent; however, the blueprints do exist, at least one of them.
the leaderboard looks like its already been filled by bots or people who used hacks and known exploits in the past lmao, there's a guy shd 98k in the top 10???
@@Daemon1995_ unfortunately there’s a major XP exploit tied to the mode, and people have been abusing this which has destroyed the leaderboard
It’s really hard for me to figure this out just go after the doors😅
This guide is great but it also emphasizes for me just how limited Descent is as a game mode. There’s just not enough variety in options to stop you from doing effectively the same thing every time. It’s too easy to force a given build most of the time and that’s just not what most rogue-lites do.
Insulated was on your first talent list but not on the tier list - where would you put that?
Ooh you're right! Sorry about that.
I'd put it in B tier - it's very much a 'nice to have' talent; probably the least useful of all on that list.
I play The Division because it is not a rogue like.
Why should I play descent?
But does strained work with bullet hell though?
Did not know you could reroll how do you do this ?
4:33. I've asked people many, many times - don't shoot them in the dick!
The Chameleon talent doesn't work after some time . I wouldn't use it ,better chose Bloodsucker.
I can’t get passed loop 4 it gets so hard
I don't struggle with Descent. After a couple of runs, it does not interest me and I have no plans to play it again.
what determines whether you get exotic talents? is it random or can you inflluence it? I have had some runs where I get offered one, and some where I get given 3
I think it random. The first one is guaranteed at finishing loop 1. I got a second one during loop 2. Doctor Home talent paired with the Lady Death talent is a remarkable combo, LOL.
It's random now. In the PTS, there was the option to buy increased exotic chance from the NSA vendor, but that seems to have been removed in live.
It's only really hard in 4 person scale
How do you get a second exotic talent before nemesis?
Just luck - exotic talents appearing are RNG sadly
Can you please do a new one Sir?
Descent just straight up SUCKS!!!!
basically divsion 1o1 🙂 attack
Why strained and clutch? I never crit
Because my recommendation is to run diamondback as one of your three exotic talents, and this will give you 100% chc with nearly 100% uptime :)
@@hutchler tnx bro
Yeah, I’m really confused as to how you can afford to play aggressively. I don’t see you getting shot in any of the footage. I feel like I’m getting shot from every angle, in every single room.
My personal view is that Ubisoft wasted their time on this descent and would have been better spent on new areas like access to all buildings or make the DZ more assessable to the single players PvE with all difficulties on the map, or at lease made descent (Rename) as the training camp on how and where our agents become an agents and have to achieve a certain level to become an agent so as to enter the main game.
What about rogues? I always seem to get killed on them around 29+
I think i made it to 11 once.
descent is fun, but its extremely unbalanced for group play and solo isnt any better, loot doesnt exist, xp gains arent worth it, in the amount of time i get 8 lvls in descent i can get 20 outside
Solo? Let's see it in a 4 man
So my only question is this: do you enjoy Descent ?
Yes, but only because I view it as a rogue-like game mode as opposed to trying to benefit my character in the main game. And the only reason I'm able to do that is that I have everything I need in the main game, so I'm not really looking for material reward
I like the concept of making a build with multiple talents, but room after room of killing NPCs is dull. Felt too much like Resistance. At this point, it just feels like they're half-assing this game.
Nah, this was just a filler to try and hold people over until larger projects can be finished.
@@jamescameron6819hey so I'm new to the game shd400 just started like last month, what type of content is still coming?? Cause I know they have that new game heartland coming out I figured this game was on the outs cause of that since I heard it wasn't a dlc but rather a standalone game
@@pflolssa at least one more dlc. Around warlords of new York size and a 4 man mini raid.
@@jamescameron6819 holy shit, are you serious is that for real? Like that's not fake hype it's legit otw?
@pflolssa that's the reasonably creditable rumor. Always a grain of salt with these things but the source hasn't done me dirty yet
*Disclaimer* he's on PC, the game will most definitely not run the same way on console as it does on PC.
I'd describe myself as a "PC Master Race" gamer TBH, so I went back to K+M when I came back after a long break. SHOT up in SHD and skill level just from watching vids of PC players. Seems silly, worked for me. Haven't cracked Loop 4 on descent yet, but I think this vid will help.
@@dredark3 id take PC crashes over being shot through walls, random tick damage, server issues, grenades clipping through walls, the overtargeting of a player if the player is wearing glass cannon, the list goes on and on and on, the game has other issues where certain npc types think they are something else so I'll randomly get rushed by 3 assault types at once when I sm behind cover and attacking, I get rushed by scouts who randomly get aggressive and kill me. Recoil control for weapons on controller is out of control.
@@hutchler so you have spent over a year in game just on console? Lol I get your point but the likelihood of that being sn exact number or even a ballpark is unlikely.
@@CarsonFrost If it’s wrong, I’d estimate that it’s wrong in the other direction (too low). I’ve played this game as my main game since launch, and given my speedrun background I played long sessions daily for years.
Given the game came out almost 5 years ago, 10k really isn’t that impressive.
OMG! Why is it so hard!? I fn hate this.
Sure can tedious farm all the perks and kill one nemesis in fml farming. Yippee -_- Go in a group and the bs multi nemesis will just run you over. Tedious bs and for what? Abject garbage.
So its just blitzing the Nemesis in 28min.. ok... solo, no hard rooms, no extra bosses.. #yawn
You talk about high floors like yall the only ones who been there 😆
@@GeniusButton I'm sorry my video trying to help others has upset you so much. I'm not sure how many times I can reiterate that this is the setup myself and friends use, but anyone is welcome to do what they want to do.
If you want to share your own recommendations, then I'd suggest you pull together your own video :)
whats the point? rewards are poo
I disagree with almost all of this. Sandman is the best exotic talent
And that's fine! As I say in the video, this is just the way me and high-flooring friends approach the mode - there are many ways to skin a cat and ultimately it's about doing what's best for you :)
Haha. Meleeing with a bulwark shield was oddly satisfying.
Descent is trash…
Bro your on pc. Try it on console, you will not be setting records there
I was a console player before coming to PC a year or so ago, and I got many records on console!
