      @@BigBinks remember the compression around 6.7? yeah they moved that clusterf*ck up and made it worse. Basically the technological difference between br brackets is like 10-20 years. Its also split in two since noone really plays 9.3 so you have 7.7/8.0-8.7/9.0 matches and 9.3-10.3 in my sweedish 8.7 lineup I almost never see uptier, maybe a few 9.0 soviet tanks. This 7.3-10.3 range could be expanded to 4 BRs.

      @@allorfh2495no one plays 9.3? Lmfao, 9.3 is one of the most popular br brackets, that’s why they lowered br’s under it, bc poor 8.3s were getting shit on. Don’t think it’s the right thing to do but that’s why they did it.

    "Your gunner would not be able to fire for an additional second or so" While I don't love the idea of stun, this isn't what it was described as doing. The "concussion" caused screenshake and sparks to appear on screen if any crew was hit, and if a round hit >but did not kill< your gunner, the "stun" would temporarily move the center of your aim off center from your mouse within 1/4 of the screen. It did not cause any "pausing" of input. I don't love the described effects, Helldivers has a simpler method for "concussion", and RNG is bad, but overall you still technically had complete control to fight back.

      ​@@touchgrass7834 Screen effects have no bearing on control. You don't lose the ability to aim, to drive, to turn, to shoot. A screen shake or sparks does not in _any way_ take away control. The effects are annoying, but if I've been shot, I often already know where it came from and am turning to shoot. The effects will already be cleared in the 1-2 stated seconds as I'm aiming at the target and still before he finishes reloading. This will have the most affect if somehow someone gets a shot off and I don't see where it's at, finding the target will be harder, which seems to be the intent.
      The mouse RNG is a little control loss granted, and I'm all against it, but completely "freezing" input is _leagues_ more hated than simple throwing off aim slightly.

The dumbest thing would literally be taking away control from the player by freezing inputs, which isn't what the "stun" is and is the entire point of my post. I've _already stated twice_ that those effects are annoying and I'd rather have a simpler alternative, but that's besides the point.

      @@matchstick21 the seizure I was talking about in my first comment was me commenting on both effects and movement. Yes, screwing with the controls isn't *the worst* they could do but my point is it's pretty fucking annoying. The visuals suggested are also annoying as fuck. The solving light vehicles issues point they are trying to accomplish could be solved with a better damage model and increased spall with apds and heat. Apds only produces few big chunks that don't travel far. Now I don't think a gunner is alright just because the one chunk of metal gaijin did take into account didn't hit him. If the round hits close enough he should be dead by all rights, or at least *unconscious*. On top of that are of course the misterious ways spall works in in general. See ammo not going of, even when main calliber apfsds passed through it just because there was a fuel tank in front who ate the spall but not the main shell. You are not going to fire a shell with a hole in it! That's the end of my rant. There seemed to be a misunderstanding. I hope I've made my position on it clear now.

    We are far away from winning, there are still many things in this game that are more important to add like BR decompression up to 12.7 for ground battles, fixing ghost shells, HE and HESH rework because they still often don't work like they should, RP bonuses for completed tech trees (supposedly in next major update) and many, many more

      I think In the original April fools for modern vehicles, t90 and abrams were fucking 15.0, so it’s very possible to do high decompression

    nice to see development continuing to genuinely involve the community. they still need to overhaul how they handle BRs, obviously, but we’re still rolling in the same good direction we pushed this game into last year.

      For a good company this can be useful to recover feedback and improve the suggestion
      But for gaijin? We have to wait to see if they do it correctly
      At least it isn't an EA/Ubi/Overkill moment of "my game my decision"

    I wish they also gave us an ability to select what modules crew prioritizes during repairs. Sometimes I'd rather have the crew prioritize fixing the tracks so I can retreat and fix my gun, other times I'd rather have my gun fixed first.

      I'd also like backups that you can only use on one vehichle (for example the 20 backups you get for buying a premium) to have an option to change vehichles. I'm sick of needing backups for ground and having 35 just sitting on my f5c

    The changes should be good. More mods to set fire for that are concrete (oil tank, battery) will be good. They should increase the amount of extinguishers from 2 to 3.

    I didn't even know there was a poll but there are 2 likely reasons (without typos) for it to not add to 100% - the first is that there was a third option of 'I don't know/care'/'no opinion'. The second is that they filtered out some responses from players who may have had fewer than x number of battles - either because they maybe are 'too new' and wouldn't understand how the game works at all or more likely an attempt to weed out any bot voting to try and force the poll a certain way and so only legitimate player votes are counted. 'World of Warships' did something similar when they were implementing their garbage CV changes - albeit that was also because they had an agenda and needed to toss out like 20% or more of the votes that took the 'approval' of the changes from whatever low as hell number to I think 38% approving it so they shoved it down our throats.
    Also - they're saying that they'll drop the stun mechanic entirely if the other changes essentially deal with the 'ineffective hit' issue with the larger tanks/simpler models. And I'd assume - because it's being rolled out in stages and because it'd be BS to muck with and start an unneeded fire in the community, that the max repair times stay the same - it's just there's more things that can be broken. Which I'm fine with basically having more detailed damage models and things that can catch fire catching fire for a small penalty. I mean - yeah that one low French heavy could be annoying hitting an open space cause the round was a little left or right but my bigger issue with 'ineffective rounds' is honestly BR placement/Valance with tanks that are way too high with way too weak guns/rounds or more often tanks with armour that probably shouldn't be at the low BR are they are, most belonging to one particular nation, with some outliers in others like UK (where I have sat laughing in Churchill's the same as when I play some Russian tanks as 3+ players shoot at me even point blank and can't punch through the armour).

    The stun mechanics seemed the most egregiously badly thought out imo. It makes the benefit of prioritising specific modules/crew members nullified, because no matter who you hit, all tank capabilities are down. Should you take out the engine/driver first, and immobilise the enemy to stop them getting out of sight, or focus on the gun/gunner, and stop them returning fire? With the stun mechanic, doesn't matter, because either way, tank's not moving or shooting for a few seconds. It actively reduces the skill ceiling by making shot placement less important.
    The game distinguished itself from its main competitor, World of Tanks, by making the destruction of enemy vehicles dependent on a complex module system rather than a simple health bar -- this proposed change takes a step backwards.
    'Mini Fires' is also a straight up dumb idea. The only situation I could see it becoming relevant is when you survive a penetrating shot, you survive with minimum crew, thankfully no engine fires, but instead of the last ditch chance to recover and save yourself from destruction (one of the most satisfying things you can do in ground), you suddenly just die from tiny DoT ticks because Gustav's oily flannel got a bit smoky.

      @@russman3787 yes by literally any hit i.e. shrapnel works as well:
      "Any hit to a crew member causes a stun effect"
      Meaning as long as you don't aim at the engine block you will stun/concuss crew members.....
      Regardless, once again it is funny you actually think you know how it would work in game just because you read the post.... You need to actually test that that stuff in game to know how it works.

    Players lose no matter what. We get bribed with shiny expensive toys and shitty mecanics. Gaijin loves telling us what we need to think. They tell us that the wait time would be too long for a better gaming experience by adding a BR or 2 and decompressing the trees. Yet they want to asd more RNG mechanics that will be most definitely broken.

    I couldn’t care less whether stun gets implemented or not but I really was they had chosen a more realistic way of implementing crew recovery.
    I kind of wish we got an event or test server, and could give feedback on what about the mechanics we like and don’t. Doing a poll based on information from one dev blog seems a bit minimal for how big the changes are.
    Also concerning how many people STILL don’t understand how stun was going to work.

    Instead of having stun, they could just add more smoke when the round explodes. It actually bring in another use case for the HE round in regular tank combat (which is just entirely neglected at the moment...)

    There are already tank parts that are modeled, like gun sights, view ports, that do nothing but increase repair time when damaged.

    While this is the better of the available outcomes with crew stun and so on, what we will have now is grounds for a magnitude more of faulty hit detection and the frustration from it. Remember the infamous Tiger's driver port eating rounds? Now think of that but a lot more components to fuck up your shot. And healing? Why in any world is that a better choice overall compared to just a better Crew Replenishment?
    Also notice the wording of the notice here, Gaijin hasn't dropped the idea of stunned crew or internal fires yet, they want to tweak it and present it forth again at a later date.

    With stun mechanic Gajin went slightly overboard with it. It could be just simple screen blur when large shell hits a tank, and nothing when say autocannons are hitting. That would be simplest and most non invasive way to implement it.

      They wear special head gear that dampens noise though. This has been the norm for tankers since at least ww2. At most they would hear little plinking sounds but it would just allow them to see where the rounds are coming from.

      @@BoleDaPole Do you have any idea how hard a 30 or 20 mm shell fired from a high velocity cannon impacts? And how unbearably loud it sounds when you 're in an acoustic chamber of metal? Even the best protection for your ears would still do a minimal job at reducing the sonic chaos. That T-90 that got fired at by the Bradley in the Ukrainian war didn't suffer any internal damage, but the hits rocked the crew so bad they got all confused, not able to return fire, eventually the Bradley damaged the optics and the computer system of the horizontal turret drive and the crew drove the T-90 into a tree before abandoning it.

    The only thing that change would achieve is to make it more frustrating to play, ESPECIALLY for new players.
    Cant believe there are so many people saying yes to that, absolute brain rot.

      i remember one of the first memories I have of playing ground in WT was racing across a map in some low BR wheeled vehicle, taking a shot from a tank ahead of me killing the driver, and skidding past him so fast I out-rotated his turret and got a killing shot on him from the side.
      if I were playing with that new mechanic implemented, I would have gotten shot, and then had to sit in frustration as my fully functional gun and gunner do nothing as I wait for that tank to deliver a finishing shot.
      odd reference, but more than anything it reminds me of the malaria mechanic in Far Cry 2. Realistic, annoying, constantly bugging you, and that added no additional enjoyment to the game.

      I've played enough Planetside 2 infantry combat to know concussion and screenshake don't belong in online shooters. One tank shell hitting near you making it feel like your aiming your gun in a 9.0 earthquake. That's one guaranteed way of making people not want to log into the game.

      @@BallBusta As someone who has also played many, many hours of Planetside 2, I honestly have to disagree. I think it makes the all-aspect warfare much more immersive. I would prefer the screen to blur for concussion, and for inputs to be delayed/slowed when the gunner is injured, but not the reticle moving around, since the crew being stunned shouldn't affect the canons position unless it's stabilized directly by a person.

    I do want the stun/concussion mechanics, but instead of a reticle sway, it would make more sense to blur the screen and/or slow inputs like CoD's concussion grenades, especially since tank cannons are, for the most part, mechanically aimed and not very sensitive to the gunner himself moving around.

    Even though the ones voted down by just over 50% are going to be looked at in the future means that the company doesn't grasp the fact that HALF of the players are against it. The point of having a poll and saying we'll look at put it in later make the whole idea of having a poll a moot point!

    Heal wounded crew 85.67% yes 13.92% no
    Stun/concussion 40.99% yes 58.29% no
    New fire sources 47.95% yes 51.08% no
    Discrepancy could if there was an indifferent option maybe? Which could have been from another polling method, or just simple non response
    Fixing lightly damaged components is something that should be fixed

    I think they should have add on armor for more vehicles and i also think they should let you put the armor where you want up to a certain weight limit, it would also be cool if you could use different materials like sand bags, logs, water filled jerry cans.

      They need to allow more decorations and decal slots too. Maybe limit the amount of camouflage one can add to 4 -6 with 15 slots total.

    I think they could implement some of these features in the different the game modes, arcade should be left basic with no change to make it fun, simulator would be half of the new changes and realistic should be all the things they talked about, otherwise it will become super frustrating if it becomes to complicated, ie how will it determine a concussion or internal component failure, some WW2 tanks just crapped themselves without being hit. Modern tanks have better internal linning to eliminate possible concussions, so there's a lot of factors that it would apply to some tanks but not some at same time... Humm if they rush this it will become a major stuff up.

    I just feel like these changes are not really anything anyone wanted at any point. It's cool that they want to develop the game further, however all of these changes would make it generally easier to kill someone, given that you've penned them.       depends on how you look at it, but either way it just reduces damage taken by crew members being hit. whether you see that as a bigger health pool, 'armour' of some kind, or that they 'recover' HP after being hit, I don't think it's the same healing-over-time gaijin suggested.

      @@michaelruiz0621 it could be that it currently does influence the crew respawn timer you can use on capture points, i'm not sure. I know filling in for a crew slot takes the agility skill, but yeah, if that mechanic were added I'd imagine vitality would influence the hp/sec you would recover.

      Crew does recover, but insanely slowly and not even noticeable if the dude is almost ded (red)
      It probably exponentially grows the more damaged the specific dude is, but I've had a light yellow guy return to normal

      Most of those crew stats do absolutely nothing.
      All you need is the stats to maximize the vehicle, like reload, accuracy, repair time, crew replenish time, arty call time and accuracy, that's about it.

    Ground wont ever get a win until they do something about air in game. Dont completely remove it but there shouldn't be planes within the first 2-3 minutes of the game and there shouldn't be more planes than ground vehicles

    Honestly allowing recovery seems a really bad choice. It will just help campers and snipers to stay behind cover and even heal crews. In real life a crew member doesn't heal, he just survives. Reload rate is still bad, driving is bad,... you do not recover from an explosion on your face. You just survive

      take into account the casual players that knew nothing of the polls, they come out winners. the new flight mechanics makes heli pve almost unplayable for casual guys, this would make tanks unplayable for casual guys, its already incredibly skewed to the point where I and many of my friends are moving to different games, the hackers and pro players would lose their canon fodder with these changes. the sheer number of players running to get their planes in ground battles, I repeat GROUND BATTLES, is making the game unplayable to a great extent

I don't think the 42% of monkeys that voted yes on that one even understand how fuckin horrible that would be. There are some games that concussion is fine in, but I promise you, War Thunder isn't one of them.

    Can we please, for the love of all that is Holy, get a game mode where there are ground vehicles ONLY. So many games now where people run to get a point, J out, go into a plane and start bombing ruining the game for those that only play tanks, or they die and leave the game leaving your team really short on people.
    Also, the new flight mechanic for choppers and planes has made flight impossible for casual players, I always enjoyed Heli PVE, now I can barely move my chopper, it also kills low level flight towards targets to avoid gepards as it is so incredibly twitchy

    So.. they cherry pick some pre-determined areas to "re-work" then give players a chance for a simple yes-no response.
    Are any of these (apart from crew healing) that important to the majority of players? Has there been considerable, continuous discussion about these? There are certainly a lot of areas that have constant discussion (read vitriolic argument) but are still avoided by Gaijin.
    It's just a bit of candy so that they can say "we conversed with the player base to get their opinion" and go ahead and do whatever they like.

    Honestly, I would love to see another pool about the stun mechanic but splited into 2 pools, 1- if you agree with the 1/4 aim off, 2- if you agree with all the other things. My theory is that the people only don't want to lose the aim when hit.

      because currently it's better to have 4/5 crew members, one of whom dies and can get fully replaced at full HP on a cap point than survive with a 5/5 injured crew that will die to the tiniest bit of spalling from an almost non-pen HEAT round.
      We can repair complex internal modules in our tanks from being completely broken, shouldn't the surviving crew at least be able to bandage themselves up too?

      Personally I think it should only be on non-autoloaded tanks, or at least be most effective on them. Autoloaders can’t be damaged currently, so buffing non-autoloaders is fair

      how would stun and concussion mechanics make combat any more interesting though? It makes the game more braindead by rewarding any penetrating hit with a complete stop on all tank functions. previously, you had to put conscious effort into where you placed your first shot, especially with non APHE focused nations/ranks. Now, whether you shot the driver or the gunner first, doesn't matter, tank is dead in the water.
