Welcome to the third episode of the beloved series Cool and Goods! In these videos, we take a look at some neat and unknown facts about War Thunder that not many people know about. This time, I decided to try something different; the title is different, the thumbnail is more eye-catching and there's a brand new segment: Cartography. Hopefully you all enjoy these neat facts, and if you have some that you want to share, don't hesitate to leave them in the comments. And if you see any mistakes, make sure to let me know as well.

It's shooting the ammo that costs money, not the replenishment on caps

@@skDoger If you're using non-stock ammo, it always costs SL to fire. In actuality it's actually the restock after battle that costs SL which can be disabled. The X/X on researched ammo is how many shells you have available and if you somehow manage to completely fire all rounds in a match, you won't be able to resupply more. This cost is the SL number when you look at the ammo in the modification menu.
Crew replenishment is also similarly limited to 30 replenishment. Disabling Auto Rearm on the bottom right of your line up, and having a vehicle out of ammo, will mark it with a Red ammo icon, low ammo will be marked with a white ammo icon.
ALSO; in assault arcade, where it is actually possible to completely run out of ammo, a repair/supply wrench will not restore your ammo if you're out of shells to resupply. If you're in a mobile, or fast firing tank, that might live a long time in assault arcade, be prepared to either J out or die once you run out of your better ammo, or bring some normal ammo to ensure you can always fire something.
Vehicles that are likely to survive long enough are autoloading tanks and tanks that can hide behind cover like an IT-1 or Mephisto as the AI is unable to fire upon you so long as they cannot see the hull of those missile carriers.

She is saying, that equipment being evacuated from the institute of Medium Industry. Here is a thing, Medium Industry is not an economical term, unlike Heavy and Light Industries. It existed only in USSR as a code word for soviet nuclear program. Summarising, the situation in Seversk-13 is even worser, since Institute, that is affiliated with nuclear program, needs to be evacuated.

for the < > in the chat which are not allowed, it is to avoid a SQL injection type of attack. the SQL injection is a way to make the serveur interpret a non-authorised code. this could give a great power to the attaker (stealing the serveur database, cheating and who knows what else)
Incorrect about the He-51 A-1 being the only aircraft in game with a swastika. The He-51 B-2/H floatplane has one as well. Also all the Finnish aircraft have them as well (though they're not Nazi swastikas).

1:30 I distinctly remember spending hours trying to get the Yak-38 off the carrier without hover in test flight.
I succeeded in Realistic battles. It is possible.

It is possible. You just need to take off the upwind rather than downwind. Can’t be bothered explaining the physics but you are technically going 40 knots faster. It is easy to take off from.

@@Sllammyy the physics are pretty simple, it's barely physics but just logical when you think about it. If the wind is flying into you at 40 knots, you are effectively flying into the wind at 40 knots. It's not your actual movement that matters, it's you move against the wind. It doesn't matter if the wind is moving or you are. This is why planes use Indicated Air Speed and not Real Air Speed.
Some planes (ultralights) can even take off going stationary or even backwards if they're taking off against an incredibly fast wind.

@3:58 The 100mm low pressure gun is actually considered the secondary armament to the 30mm cannon.
Btw "mark for squadmate" is also usefull for rangefinding, cause it apperas on your minimap exactly where your line of sight have hit the ground. All you need after that is to count the grid squares and convert it to estimated distance.
Also you can be more accurate with minimap ping and arty strikes. Very usefull tool.
I know that war thunder and Gaijin get a lot of crap about their game but the amount of detail they put into war thunder is unimaginable. It is crazy how dedicated they are to the little details in this game even if it’s not perfect.
I realy like the details of warthunder but one problem is here my typ95 truck does male tank noises
Too bad they can’t put all that attention to detail into something useful like balancing the BRs or fixing the spotting system or fixing airfield camping or fixing spawn camping or fixing realshatter or fixing CAS or actually giving bombers detailed cockpits or fixing crew locking or fixing the obnoxiously long grind for ftp players or fixing all the premium problems like the Ju-288 spam or all the low level players buying their way into jets, but still great attention to detail all around!! The sad thing is that I could keep going…
The cartography section was golden
Yes i understand the devs how much time they are spending to make the maps as realistic as possible(and beautiful) but from gameplay prospective they are not that well made but it is what it is right
I can confirm, ramming is a feature in game, you can use almost any tank to ram into a small tank like the L3 and send him back to the main menu

-The Yak-38 can take off from the carrier in RB as well, although it requires a bit more effort
-The sign on Campagnia says "venite a trovarci più spesso" (not "veneti a irovarci pio spesso"), which means "come and visit us more often".
-The greater than and less than symbols turn into square brackets to prevent SQL injections. It's essentially a lazy way to prevent hackers from writing code in the game chat.
-The Strv m/39 TD is the vehicle at the lowest BR with a colored photo, at 1.0. The C13 T90 is the lowest BR researchable vehicle.
-The He-51 B-2/H and Bf 109 B-1 also have Nazi swastikas. Some Swedish planes also have non-Nazi ones.
-The cars in S-13 are not Ladas, they are Moskvitch cars
-The outdoors theater says "Music to the masses" and not "All Power to the Soviets", and the building at the end of the slideshow says "Peace Labor May", not "World Labor May"
Last time I played it, the British mosquito has clipping bombs. When you choose the 500lb x2 loadout the bombs are 1 behind the other and they clip together. Although I belive they were historically carried side by side in the real aircraft during service

the broken down walls inside the commie blocks are just the destroyed version of the building kept inside the shell of the normal one, and is visible when the building takes enough damage and collapses, it's the same thing for most other buildings on other maps, it's to save processing power and reduce lag during a match when the buildings collapse

20:04 btw, this text is something about peace (see the top word and the dove) which means 'World Labor May' is a incorrect translation (it's a weird sentence to start off with), I sadly can't read cyrillic well enough to help translate any further, though. Since may 9th is Soviet (and also Russian) Victory Day, maybe it's 'World peace May' instead.

Just a little thing: in the cafe at 4:15 it is " pizza pasta e antipasti, vieni a trovarci più spesso". Veneti (venetian) is an adjective referring to a northen italian region. The map is located in Campania, a region in south of Italy . the translation would be like: "... choice of pizza, pasta and appetizers, come and visit us more often". Thanks!

18:30 round the back of the palace there are little gaps in the wall with the end having no collision so if you have a small enough vehicle can hide in the wall
The yak 38 can take off without hovering in realistic too, or at least it could when it was introduced in the game, you just need the lightest loadout possible and you have to use all the space possible on the carrier
i did it a few weeks ago, took a lot of attempts but its possible
This map is so well detailed, because they will use it in enlisted one day for sure!
Another thing about the alecto, it can kill the panther in the test drive frontally by driving into the lfp, because the front of the alecto is wedged it can push up the panther enough to mitigate the angle on the lfp so you can pen it and kill the driver over and over
12:45 The C13 T90 isn't the lowest vehicle with a coloured photo, there is the German Premium Tiger at 5.3, but Russia has a BT.7 TD at 1.3. It's one of the Non-Premium vehicles that's in the Premium section of the USSR Tech Tree.

You certainly used to be able to get in the Zeppelin hangar. You just had to glitch your way in... it's been a few tears so maybe Gaijin fixed it. You were invulnerable to rank fire and most artillery. Bombs worked if they were large enough... the problem was figuring out there was a tank in there, then plopping a bomb in its lap. Hard to do when it can't be seen.
I dont know how about you guys, but I feel like this is like a “take a break” video when grinding WT, sometimes you need a bit of hope to continue grinding

The reason why the buildings in Seversk are destroyed when you noclip inside is because they are destructible, so they sink the model on the outside with some SFX

Great video as always, but you made a couple of mistakes.
1: "Prospekt" is not a Russian name of boulevard, we have a word for boulevard too, it sounds like "boulvar" (бульвар), pretty close to your version.
2: (This one was very painful to hear) Then you said "Lada" you showed a "Moskvitch" (the name of the car literally translates as a "resident of Moscow"). These are two completely different cars, and Russians often argue which one is better (the Volga is still better than both).
Also greetings from your Russian audience and thanks for the song about Afghanistan, I was very pleased with this moment.

The yak38 can take off from the carrier without hover in realistic too. I did it. you just have to drive to the sheer edge of the carrier, and start from there

The Vautour does have bombs in the bomb bay, only if you chooses smaller bombs. Bigger bombs don’t appear for some reason.

@Random41 Now, with the newly added SU-25 memorial, it kinda screws over the 1960 timeframe that the radio is clearly talking about. Given that the memorial is referrencing the shootdown of Rook-1 from the trailer for that update, which was set during the Soviet Afghan war.
the translation at 4:13 isn't entirely correct. The last part actually says "[...] e antipasti [,] venite a trovarci più spesso", which translates to "[...] and appetizers [,] come find us more often". The map is set in Campania, which is on the other side of the Peninsula from Veneto and Venice.

Replenishing ammo on points should remove the ammo cost of the replenished rounds (if you don't use the replenished ammo until the end of the game)
Let's take a minute to just appreciate that town and music that let us go back in the golden age of War thunder and remind us that this city could have a really good long trailer by using that lore and voices soundtrack

Maybe not every map, but I'll definitely do a bunch of the interesting maps for sure. I actually was thinking about making them into separate videos, but I'm not sure if they'll be long enough to justify an entire video. This one was pretty long because of the audio clips, but we'll see.
@@skDoger You could do multiple maps per-video. Especially if they are maps with little easter-eggs. You can also go over general information about the maps before getting into the easter eggs and other smaller details. I've never seen map breakdown videos for war thunder.

11:56 APDC in Russian usually calling like "Подкалиберный снаряд" (Podcaliberniy snaryad), what translates like "Low/sub-caliber shot". It sometimes gets shortened to just "Подкалибер" (Podcaliber), or Low/Sub-caliber in English.
And thanks for telling a lore of Seversk-13 for English-speaking players, i think that map has one of the best non-historical lore in the game. You done really well with a translation, i found only one small mistake in it, 18:02. "Проспект Гагарина" (Yea, it's usually readed that way in Russian) translates literaly like "Gagarin*'s* Prospekt".
19:19. It's real newspaper, called "Комсомольская правда" (Komsomolskaya Pravda), or "Komsomol Truth" in English.
19:21 I didn't know, what that model also called like "Lada 1200". VaZ-2101 "Zhiguli", how it's better known here. People nicknamed that model "Kopeyka".
20:07 "Мир" here translates more like peace, but not a world. In Russian we got one word for both. "Мир, Труд, Май" is a slogan, what related to "International Workers' Day" celebration.
13:03 the BF109 B1 (?) has the same thing, also some finnish planes have them too

Seversk is now my favorite map for the details alone.
The sign at 4:15 says “venite a trovarci più spesso” which translates to come see us soon.
Bridges on a number of low tier Air RB maps can also be bombed, despite not being a bombing target, destroying them will reward SL and RP and prevent ground units from advancing along them. This can turn the tide of a match as these units won't be able to capture a ground point and also become easy pickings for bombers as they stop at the broken bridge.
On the Vietnam Air RB map the bridges are actually target able as well and destroying them quickly enough will prevent the airfield from being captured and prevent ticket bleed to ground units killing each other, however this rarely comes into play with how fast that map plays.

You forgot to mention in the F-82E after killing the left pilot you can stil use the left pilot 1st person view
I haven't watched these all but ik people are so adamant about saving their SL so here's this: if you use a vehicle back-up you don't pay the repair cost for the second death only the first.

not sure if its only on certain vehicles, but i saw on one of the soviet 23mm spaa trucks that if you look from a certain angle where light is shining on them, the crew have their neck muscles modeled

The ramming feature IS in the game and it does count as a kill its just nowhere near as easy to get. Not talking about planes. I even have a video I saved years ago of me ramming into an m22 with a larger tank after it shot out my barrel, I gained lots of speed from going downhill and killed his whole crew in one hit. There were a few other times where I have damaged crew or got kills by ramming as well. And one time I got killed by ramming.
I once killed my driver in a Stug by hitting a low pipe at high speed, so ramming can damage, it's just inconsistent
1:36 I have done it in realistic. If i remember correctly I used takeoff flaps and 0% thrust vector
Me and my friend did the ash river spot in a bunch of tanks even the asu 57 by reversing up the rocks on the hill and firing to get a boost

Just wanted to make a little correction about 4:16, the sign says:
"Buon appetito. Siamo lieti di darvi il benvenuto nel nostro bar. Per voi una vasta scelta di pizza, pasta e antipasti. Venite a trovarci presto"
The translation is:
"Enjoy your meal. We are delighted to welcome you in our bar. For you a wide choice of pizza, pasta and appetizers. Come visit us soon"
In Italy, a bar is what English speakers refer to as café, a lot of people go to bars to get breakfast or something to eat/drink, larger ones also offer lunch :)
1:33, I've been able to do it in realistic you just have to back up all the way and then use the brake key to get thrust and you can actually takeoff without hover in realistic with only meters to spare.
I hooked up to a enemy m22 in custom while he was looking at a maus and took the tiny tank on a Turbine powered rollercoaster
also the pinging for squad is nice to know where you need to place arty if its not scouted, you can ping them and thn know almost their exact location
and you can use arty without using the map, sometimes it gives a little keybinding info thing that you can but i totally forget it alot of times
