    I have seen a lot of your videos. Some twice 0r more. I was on the fence when getting my 53 pick up but put a used 350( third one) because I you said “ I’m cheap” . But that motor just locked up. I’m getting a whole rusted. ( live in PA) truck for free so I can’t say no to LS anymore. I’m jumping in. Thanks for all you do.

    I appreciate you going over the basics again, a lot of people have done budget swaps in the past but not too many are doing or showing them currently, a lot has changed in 4 years when everyone was filming them, the nice thing about your channel is that you do them for customers and soon to flip them which I think is great, snidertron3000 is another good guy that I watch, keep it up buddy!

    I have a 1994 Chevy s10 2.2 (I believe) regular cab 2wd and I want to ls swap it so bad!! Like it hurts but I have no clue where to even start. I’m willing to try it my self but I don’t even know what to get. All I know is to get a 4l60e transmission and that’s it! I have about $2000 to start with and I don’t want crazy power just a reliable running driving ls s10…I’d prefer to do a manual swap as well but at this point whatever is easiest to get it done.

    You forgot to mention the Amazon / Chinese oil pan which leads me to a question... When using the Chinese oil pan do I need to remark the dip stick? It seems so based on my oil level in my car. It's a good bit above the full mark when I pour in the recommended amount of oil.

    I have a question in regards adapting a PTFE fuel line to the Holley Retrofit.
    I’m using one for my 76 C3 and the provision for the supply is a 3/8 flared fitting. Holley wants you to use a rubber line to the existing hard line.
    If I wanted to use a PTFE connection, are you cutting off the barb and then using a AN compression fitting?

    • @krustyclassicsgarage
      @krustyclassicsgarage  11 месяцев назад

      On the last camaro I did on the channel (the dark orange one) I used a 3/8 fitting youd typically put on the fuel rail of the intake to make it an AN end. and put that on the end of the metal line coming from the holley fuel pump. I believe its in video one or 2 of that swap.

    • @krustyclassicsgarage
      @krustyclassicsgarage  11 месяцев назад

      Technically. You could just use a hose clamp and a bare PTFE line and hook it up to the hardline too. Then use the PTFE fittings after that. Probably what I'll do on the Camaro I'm swapping next.

      eBay swap computer $150 swap harness $100-150 as well and that comes with everything you need. I got mine and the eBay seller is responsive. It matters what trans you run, I’m doing a 5.3 swap, AR5 transmission. I got a swap computer, drive by wire, no transmission or th350 transmission since those aren’t electric. So it doesn’t matter, and bam.

    I gotta 76 Olds Omega, I was told it would cost 18 to 25k to do a swap by a few different shops which is crazy!!! I’m in the military and don’t have a garage to wrench myself so I’m kinda stuck.

    • @krustyclassicsgarage
      @krustyclassicsgarage  11 месяцев назад

      Depending on engine and transmission I might be able to see 25k but thats if its a brand new, well built engine making some good HP and a fresh transmission that can hold the power with warranty but thats still pretty outlandish. I assume those prices is them supplying parts which means up charging on parts while buying the most expensive parts possible and charging a good chunk in labor.

    I look at it like this. Just because I do it a different way, and the result is the same. Is it wrong? Your right brother. I wanted a 6.2L. And it has cost me cause I could afford a big chunk at once and I don't have a place for a donor. There are 6.2s all day long for $2 grand to $2500 bad trans or wrecks. I don't have a place to strip it. I have 4 grand in my engine. I started out with a bare block cause I got it for $500. I won't do it again. Lol. $750 just on a can kit. Stuff adds up fast lol. I found a 6L90 for $300. I need to rebuild it. It's gonna cost lol. I know it is. It'll be worth it in the end. Piecing it together can get dumb ass exspensive.
