I love the cute kitty. I always say - it's the taste that counts, and if it's good, it doesn't matter what it looks like. That frosting looks so much like the frosting my mom made, that I can't find the recipe for. I know hers had the milk, sugar, and Karo syrup, but I don't remember her using the chocolate bars, I always thought she used cocoa powder. I have searched and searched for her recipe. I might have to give this one a try - just the frosting, that is. That cake is too much work for lazy me!

Next week I’m making a Boston Cream Pie cake and in two weeks I’m making the Michigan Bumpy cake. Both of those have a similar frosting but with cocoa powder. Maybe one will be close to your mom’s recipe.
