  • Okay, so these are my favourite pocketable tactical thrower flashlights. What do you think? Do you have any others you'd suggest? A small bezel is a must in my books. It's so hard to find one that has decent throw/range... but I've done all the hard work and testing for you in this video.
    These are the lights I'll be comparing:
    Weltool T2
    Fenix PD35 V3.0
    Fenix PD35R
    Nitecore MH12SE
    Convoy M2 (CULPM1.TG)
    Olight Warrior 3S
    Wurkkos FC12

    Nice comparison review Darren! I liked the Fenix PD35, Wurkkos FC12, Convoy M2 and Olight Warrior 3S the most of these lights. I'd pick the Warrior 3 as the top premium light, and the Wurkkos FC12 or the Convoy M2 as the best budget lights.

      Cheers Gus, the one I carry around most is the Fenix. Recently I got the SC31T which is a good contender for the FC12, but it's way more floody.

    I like my PD35 V3.0 Because decent 30,000 plus candela on Turbo and the high 600 lumen doesn't fade at all. High is way usable at 15,000 candela. I edc a pd25 Fenix v1 and v2.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, the interesting thing is that the PD35 3.0 has better sustained output on turbo (2.5 mins) vs the PD35R which is around 30 seconds if I remember correctly.

      In this set? Probably the Weltool, Olight and Nitecore as they have higher candela. I reckon if they made a green SFT40, it'd be an absolute monster.

      I like the Fenix PD35R / PD35 V3 for most purposes but the Nitecore MH12SE/Acebeam P16 are some of my top choices if I want some extra range. I had too many lights on me that day, so I skipped the P16.

    Очень долго ждал именно этого видео с данными фонариками!)
    Вообще, можно попробовать выбрать один универсальный фонарик (например fenix pd36r pro или fenix pd 35r) и в каждом видео с обзором нового фонаря сравнивать его по свету с данной эталонной моделью. Чтобы зрители сразу могли сравнить яркость и дальнобойность уже с известной моделью и сделать первые выводы) А еще, если есть возможность, то снимать и на фоне домов, заброшенного завода, склада, темных улиц и тд.

    FC12 ticks all the boxes other than regulation: almost perfect UI IMO (for edc "tactical"/SD light), direct and guaranteed access to turbo, dual springs, great throw, direct access to moonlight, slim, cheap. You can even get a short tube and make it the one of the most compact throw-y 18350 light. I like Fenix a lot and they do have superb build quality but lack the UI and dual springs.

    My everyday carry is the Weltool Little Duke 14500/aa battery. Th candela is insane on it and the throw also. It’s my favorite AA light off all Time and I’ve been into flashlights since 1999

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  11 месяцев назад +1

      The little duke must have an Osram W1 in it to reach that distance. Convoy do some lights with that emitter but unfortunately my S2 with NM1 has focusing issue - beam is quite ugly. 1999! Amazing, I hope I never get tired of this hobby.

  • @FalconFXICCY
    @FalconFXICCY 11 месяцев назад

    With these sized bezel heads, your options are going to be quite limited as far as emitters go when it comes to throw. Your choices are basically between the PM1, SFT-40/70 or XHP35H/50.3H/70.3H emitters. Any other emitters and you're going to have too floody of a beam to really get any usable throw out of it. Any of the SFT40 based lights there are going to be the best in terms of performance to runtime to cost ratio.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  11 месяцев назад

      Yeah, there's definately a limit to the amount of throw with small bezels. Those W1/W2 emitters have such a small die surface but produce relatively large amounts of light. But I agree that the SFT40 is the best of both worlds. I'd like to see a round die version of it with extra efficiency!

    Самий великий недолік у всіх цих ліхтариках - відсутність змінного фокусу. Бо, це було у ліхтариках ще з лампочками розжарювання настільки давно що мабуть вже давно було умовним стандартом. Зінний фокус дає можливість компенсувати яскравість елемента випромінювання (лампочки чи тепер вже світлодіода). Бо задача карманного літарика зазвичай стоїть у тому, аби висвітлити собі невеличкий простір.
    Для овсітлення навкруги, є ліхтарики які мають для цього або спеціальний розсіювач, або сама конструкція забезпечує виконання цього.

    • @DarrenYeoYT
      @DarrenYeoYT  7 месяцев назад

      Yeah those mag lites had focus ability, beam looked bad but still worked. But there are ones like Ledlenser, Nebo and the Convoy Z1 that have a focusable beam.

      @@DarrenYeoYT Я купував свій ліхтарик китайського виробника за невеличкі гроші дуже дуже давно (більше 14 років тому), напис на ньому Police 1000 не знаходить у інтернеті відповідного ліхтарика. Але за зображенням практично ідентичний до нього - everActive FL-180 "Bullet" flashlight , приблизно і за вартістю теж відповідає.
      P.S:Не можу зрозуміти лишень одного, чому розробник не зробив поворотне кільце для вмикання/вимикання ліхтарика. Можна було-б навіть без зайвої електроніки зробити регулювання режимів яскравості - достатньо поверути кільце у відповідне положення? Щ й одразу вирішилась-би проблема з помилковим натисканням та герметичністю. Але то вже техніні нюанси 😁.

      @@CorruptionManXNot very long ago, a light with 200-300 lumens would be considered blinding, so pretty much any modern light that is reliable and has a body of a hard material could probably work for self-defense as long as you aren't stuck with an initial moonlight mode. Or well, at least as well as any light might work for that particular purpose.
