Very nice video, you chose some very cool locations to film the different examples. Well done.

Ok, I need another Fenix. But seriously, I do love the pd36r, this might be a nice addition to the collection. Thanks for the review.

I'm liking the look of these changes. I noticed the port cover looks to sit flush, which should hopefully make it less prone to the bad retention I get with my PD36R. Pretty good overlook of the light especially for being under ten minutes.

Thanks for watching and the comment! I agree about the cover, it really shouldn't be a problem. UI can also rest a little easier having confirmed directly with fenix the internals have a little bit of waterproofing making leaks a little less devastating. I've been trying hard to make these videos more digestable and not just another top-down shot of hands at a table.

I've been carrying the older PD36R daily for over a year and the charging port boot catches on any pocket I put it into. It honestly feels like the boot has gotten deformed and doesn't seat as well in the port. I'm afraid it's going to eventually be torn off and I'll have to deal with moisture damage to the flashlight. I was really hoping they would have redesigned the cover on this Pro model. Oh well!

I've got the same issue. Now that I know there's water proofing in the circuitry I've just ripped it off.

@@3drumsticks Thanks for providing your experience! Hopefully, Fenix has replacement boots available, and they're pretty easy to replace. Honestly, I prefer using a separate charger or sacrificing a little capacity for a charger built into the cell. Ideally, a collar found on the E02R would be a HUGE improvement, and I would gladly deal with the added circumference it would add.

Not having springs at both ends makes this more of edc than a true tactical light..

The 36R pro’s run time on high compared to the regular 36R is what kills this new light. The runtime is garbage. You won’t even notice 800 lumens vs 1000 lumens but you will notice the extra 4 HOURS! Of run time. Not worth the upgrade or should I say downgrade.
Everyone gets so caught up in the lumen brightness war, marketing hype, meanwhile the light can’t sustain being on turbo mode for long anyway. 😐

just sent my pd36 pro back..the runtime is terrible. I didn't even use the 2800..just about a couple hours on third mode. Was blinking read already on full charge!!!

Both are real/legit but I think fenix store is just a fenix dealer while fenix lighting is the official website of fenix themselves
