by not using infantry units yet still keeping one in the army, it becomes a heroic victory soaker. Even if it´s really a pyrrhic victory, because you didn´t use the infantry and they are most of your force, it´s probably a heroic victory.
I find that spamming Shaggoths is better for manually resolving battles (i.e. having more fun) but full stacks of Chosen make everything auto-resolvable even on Legendary, because they can get like 70+ melee attack and defence and have ~100 armour and a silver shield.
This is the ultimate Total War RUclipsr flex. Oh that battle you couldn't win on your stream? Yea I got you fam! lol. This is why I am a Legend subscriber.
I have a challenge for you, legendary ikit claw campaign, and you have to confederate with all major skaven clans, mors, moulder, eshin, and with all minor clans you come across, while trying to build relationships with the dwarves, and your only non skaven ally can be dwarven factions
Or you could do a clan eshin campaign since it might be easier to confederate since they get their shadowy dealings and the major clan contracts open up diplomatic relations with the major clans
Why ally with anyone? Alliances in this game are detrimental except a few cases. The only thing they're supposed to do is to scare the AI from attacking you, and they can offer to join a war against you anyway.
Caleb H To shit on the lore... the most bitter enemies the Skaven have in the lore are the Dawi. Though they obviously bother other races, because the Dwarves live underground and travel in tunnels, like the Skaven, the rat bastards desire Dwarven lands specifically before they go on the surface and start conquering shit up there. The point is to unify the Skaven peacefully, which should basically be impossible because they all hate and betray each other all the time, and to buddy up with and ally the Dwarves, which should also be impossible considering Skaven have been invading their tunnels, besieging their karaks and generally causing them no end of pain and bother. Also, they took over the second most prized and populated Dwarven city, Karak Eight Peaks, after a century long siege. Using poison, gas attacks, and other pussy strats, because they can’t handle the Dwarves with strength of arms in a straight up fight. Basically all Skaven are a hot grudgin target. In the lore. In the game you can fuck around with it. That’s the point of this “challenge”.
Hi Legend! I wanted to ask you: What do you think about Lokhir's guide(about first turns and how to deal with chaos slaves very fast and have a chance to move on)? If it's unnecessary on your opinion, I'll understand(because Lokhir is a shit LL). I've stayed along against dwarfs, empire, bretonia and high elves(so I've "finished" campaign)
I really like the Disaster Battle vids Legend, always makes me think how my games could be worse; could we get another 20 turns guide though? It saved my Beastman campaign and I suck so you'd be doing me a big favor!
The whole “victory decided by number of models lost” is dumb, and it’s simple to fix. 1.) Calculate all the health of every unit in the army and make that the army’s total health. Every unit, big and small, takes up a part of that total army health. 2.) When an enemy model is killed, take away their chunk of the total army health. This makes units with lower model counts much more impactful when they’re lost, and makes the cannon fodder less important on the victory scale. I’m relatively new to Total War games, so apologies if it isn’t as simple as that, but this seems like the most obvious solution.
Oh ya this is good content, always cool to see you work with another RUclipsr like this, and interesting to see this doom stack actually not being able to just face roll something for once. Even with doomstacks have to use tactics, and strategy.
is there a difference in the rewards for the battle depending on the type of victory? so do you get more for a heroic victory than for a close or pyrrhic one?
The type of victory determines how much experience you get. The money and other stuff you get after about a list determined by how many kills there are.
Cool video, learned a lot! For example I always tend to use The Burning Head because of the amount of control you get vs Flame Storm - but armor piercing on Flame Storm is something I will use more often now, so thanks! Question: Does it matter what kind of victory you get? So does it matter if you get a Pyrrhic victory vs a Heroic victory - like the amount of money you get at after or something?
Does launching a lightning strike still incur a leadership penalty? I remember at one point it used to, it showed up in the leadership effects as "unprepared for lightning strike battle" or something. I don't even remember if it was Warhammer 1 or 2. I'm curious because you launched a siege battle without a lightning strike, not that a small leadership debuff would help much with dwarfs.
This might just be because I haven’t played this game... At the beginning you’re saying it’s a mistake to be including the multi-entity units (squads? Regiments? Battalions?) because it will impact the victory, but I’m not sure a lot of players think of the game in those terms. Is a heroic victory more beneficial than pyrrhic?
Yes, you get more experience for better victory types. Heroes and Lords will level up much faster if you can get consistent decisive and heroic victories, rather than pyrrhic ones.
Nope. Flamestorm all the way. Piercing bolts of burning works better against large entities and we're dealing with only small ones here. Flamestorm uses less magic as well so you can cast more spells.
