I watched this video at lunch time in whataburger with no sound! And this is the best knot video/ leader tutorial I have ever seen. Take in consideration that I'm fairly new to the artificial bait thing.
So thanks Ty!
Nice, I use those breakaway clips here the the UK.
That's the knot I use to tie the clip too, I've always known it as a half blood knot but i guess the name is irrelevant.
It works.
Tight lines 👍🏻
I like that last knot a lot. Im gonna try it over the uni to uni which I always seem to struggle with
I would like to add the always connect directly to lure and not to a swivel or split that come on some lure. It can cause certain lure not to swim right. Mostly trolling lure. You only need one pivot point.
yes sir... like on the unfair lures.... they have a swivel... i just push it aside and put paper clip straight to the bait... good point brandon..
This is the set-up I use…I have Parkinson's and have big time trouble tying knots…The only difference I make is I use split rings because trying to thread my line through the hook eye has become a ordeal for me…It is very frustration and can take up to much fishing time
I've been using them for the last month, great product. Thanks for the knots tutorial as well, good info.
awesome! no prob
You really are a Master Baiter.
Same 'pretty' knot that I use when I go out. Never had it fail. Bluefish, Flathead Cats, Stripers, Snakehead.....nothing lost due to the knot failing. Great vid as always Ty.
thx bro
People should read the instructions on the back of the clips little box. You are doing it correctly.
The knot that you did where you said you had more time is also called an Alberto knot. Great tips!
Thanks for sharing this Ty, several valuable bits of info in one short video. Perfect.
thank u chris! more to come
I got to meet Jose a bunch of years ago in Martha's Vineyard, he was filming some striper fishing, very friendly and approachable!
yeah man... a great loss to the fishing world..
I bet it must be difficult to do this but I really enjoy watching all the videos you guys put out. Yall single handedly got me into kayak fishing. Thanks and keep it up. Yall are a blast to watch.
thx for watching jace... glad to have played a roll in getting u yak'n! WHAT!
Ty saw u use these clips in a previous video and ordered them up...they have literally changed my fishing! Thank you and t for the awesome vids
AWESOME! thank u for watching! WHAT
Great video and great easy fishing knots...Thanks for the tips
Love these clips. Use em in Hawaii and they're awesome way better than swivel snaps
I used your links to order some from Bass Pro Shop and from TackleDirect. Thanks so much Ty!!! Tight lines
Ty, I've been using another knot you showed us a year or more ago where you take the lines and do an overhand knot 3 times and trim. Don't know what you call it, but it works good too!
SAME ONE! surgeons loop... or i call it a quick connect
I need to use the clips upside down as well. That definitely looks easier to change out!
Thanks for showing those new Tactical Angler Clips. I need to go get some ASAP!
yes sir! u got it
Simple knots, easy to understand. Thanks Ty.
thank u AO
*Can't find any fault with these snap swivels. They're not SPROs and such **allabout.wiki/gntb** but for the money they do the job. Will buy again.*
Thise would probably give the RAPALA BROTHERS FITS...LOL
Ithink they have their place, but I gotta Believe they are going to impead Action. Maby not on Top water baits, Walk the dog ect, Mirrodines, but I would say no way on , Rapala ,and Similar Type stick baits and Crank baits
These look good. I'm only seeing 50lbs, 75lbs, 125lbs and 175lbs. I ordered some 50's.
I've tried the Norman speed clips but these look much easier to use.
Thanks for the tips!
3:30 The guy who taught me how to tie this knot when I was a kid called it a "fisherman's" knot , so that's what I called it. Then I started fly fishing and all those guys call it a "clinch knot" , which is what I've been calling it for years. Until this video I haven't heard anyone else call it a fisherman's knot (guy who taught me the knot was from Kentucky , so maybe its a regional thing).
yea I've heard both as well.
I've been using a fisherman's knot for 35 years in California good fast knot
Just as Jace Thornton said you also are the reason I got my outback and into kayak fishing. Keep up the good work.(What)
awesome brad. i know u will love it! i second that WHAT!
Just got some, I can't wait to try them bass fishing tomorrow. I don't have 15 poles/reels for different rigs. Trying to get a boat first.
Awesome!!
Quick and Easy
with the fishermen's knot that you use to connect the leader to the clip once you do your twist and run the tag line threw the bottom hole and start to tighten you'll notice the top loop twists back over if you run your tag line back threw the top loop the knot becomes much stronger
He tied that knot specifically being the clinch knot, what you're describing is the improved clinch... He did it due to the stiff nature of heavy flouro...
yes sir.. improved clinch... i use this with thin leaders... anything over 20lb (especially) with floro, i find a regular clinch is faster and just as strong...
u got it bro!
I need to get some of these. I keep saying I am going to but I just keep forgetting. Great video.
Eagle claw makes great ones too
Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Nice! Revo Beast all day, the best!
Who told you it was upside down? Both ends are the same, so the easiest on/off is the best way.
I really like them, and they are strong. However, I think I still get a little better action walking the dog with a loop knot.
those techniques look very easy to do,thanks TY
u got it leo.. thx for watching
Thanks, helpful
Those look awesome gonna defiantly going to have to order those. So far all your reviews have been great. When you first introduced the line cutter ring I ordered 3 now they are all over the bait shops down here on matagorda!
BAM! awesome for braid right??!?
Heck yeah so nice!
Thank you. Keep these types of videos coming
will do .. love doing them!
I use the tactical clips the same way you do and never had any issues losing fish
amen!
Fantastic Ty.......great job....made it SO easy.
i try! thx bro
i just bought the 50lb for my bass spinning rod. i looked but i didnt see any 30lb by tactical angler the smallest was 50. its wider and just as long as my vmc 50lb swivel snaps so i dont know it i should use them especially since they are shiny steel while the vmc is black but also has a swivel. tactical angler did a test and those off brand clips do not have a true weight rating.
Great video I use the same clips when I'm trolling for grouper with 8 inch plugs in my kayak has not let me down yet. You should try the FG knot it's a much cleaner and easier knot 👍
you are not doing it upside down, thats the right way - ez on ez off.
Bro use a double uni it looks so much better
Thank you for the nice video.
Great video. A easy one y'all could do is how to walk the dog properly. I'd be very interested in that one
Very solid info and tips .....thanks for sharing
no prob!
thanks a bunch man...i just ordered the clip...how about those cutter on your neck...any details?
linecutterz on a piece of paracord
Great
hey ty they sell those clips at bass pro too they have a 70lb pack of 5 for close to $5
WHAT! gota go look... thx
Hello this is a great video. Very informative. I am a saltwater angler from Sri Lanka. I always wated to do away most of hardware in front of the lure. I am currently using a heavy fluro instead of wire trace we used to have in fear of losing lures to macs and kudas. For the convinience of changing lures what if i have a strong split ring instead of snaplock end of the fluro so that i can change lures using a plier. Its not as easy as using a snaplock but eliminates having too many hardware. What are my chances of damaging line with split ring end? Thanks heaps for very useful tips
guess it would depend on the size of the split ring and the size of the leader... thx for watching Alex.... WHAT!
Damm..believe it or not but this is the best fluro to braid vid ive seen, lol..easy quick instruction..thx . Are u still using those tactical angler clips?
I do with bait caster and hard baits
Can you use those clips , and snap them
Into a shaky head / ned rig? .
Thats the correct way to do it. The other way is incorrect that the other people said how to di is wrong
Any one using these for tuna popping? Can these be connected directly to a barrel swivel, so basically double stacking. Tactical clip to the lure, clip to a barrel swivel. Fluorocarbon ties to the barrel swivel. That way I can have a swivel that I don’t have to reel down the guides.
The Spanish Knot is nothing more than a variation of the Crazy Alberto Knot...only difference is that you make 7 wraps going down & then 7 wraps going up instead of the 11 & 4 wraps.
Thanks for the info....Going to get some, only seeing 50lbs and higher of these clips.
yea... my bad.. 50 is the one i had... best all around
awesome, have to orders those clips online.
Great video very informative
These do not impede or hurt the action of the lure? I got away from any fasteners years ago and tie direct for better lure action. That said, tying on new baits to find the pattern is laborious and takes time from bait in water.
recently viewed a video which was critical on large size of the 50# clip. U mentioned 30's early in the video, but I don't see any 30# option. I think they introduced a micro 25# smaller size sometime after you made this video. I'm a fresh water bass guy looking to throw a super spook, jr. (a 3.5", 1/2 0z topwater lure) - would you be able to make a recommendation of these clips for a lure that size and weight? Other guys say they're using the 25# size more on panfish, but don't really trust it for largemouth bass - not sure I understand why?
i've gotten away from these completely. back to simple loop knot.
@@30mofishing - why?
great video ty! 👍🏻
Florcarborn stretch's as much as regular mono there utube videos showin* it so ,
Good stuff
Wonderful video (again!) Ty. So u use a fluorocarbon leader material for your topwaters instead of mono?
with clear water , yes sir.... altho i like to tie mono better... floro is tougher on toothy fish and just disappears underwater in clear flats or beach situations...
The website for these does not open.
Would you recommend a barrel swivel to clip to the line to stop line twist or is that to much terminal tackle? I love being able to switch lures up super quick!
no swivel needed.
@@30mofishing Why no swivel needed? They don't swivel.
Great tips.
Can I connect a clip to a lure that has a split ring or should I take off the spilt ring
might be tough but I don't think it would hurt
Take off the split ring. Much faster and the action is the same.
I always have issues with my braid twisting up and nesting real bad in my spool whenever I use these. what am I doing wrong?!
Try a leader
is it okay to add hook directly to the angler clip?
never tried it. should work tho
Those Angler clips are just Rosco's brand EZ clips that have been around a long time.
hawaiian swivel
The good ol spanish fly knot. I miss that knot. I use the fg knot now. Do you use the clips on all lures or just plugs?
everything but flukes with weedless worm hooks..
Ty, do you use these clips when throwing soft plastics or do you tie your soft plastics direct?
what size so you use for the smaller baits like Yo-Zuri 3ds minnow 70sp
I think the smallest is the 50lb. That’s what we use for hard baits like that
@@30mofishing thank you because that's what I have.
Does this Taktecal clips work with fishing hooks
that's the Alberto knot
cool
0:41 That's a lot of lures. How do you pick which one you want to use?
Albright knot....
thanks ty!
u got it bud
Will that knot work with big braid and flouro, 85# braid and 80# flouro.
yes. just use more twists
well more twist on the braid... less twist on heavy mono or floro
That’s right way. Those ppl don’t know what they talking about
I know this may be a dumb question, but what is the purpose of a leader tied on the line? Tried it but was a major drag through the guides resulting in short casts.
its for clear water... its better for teeth as well... floro is invisible in clear water... braid shows up well... i just use 2'. i don't reel it thru the guides... only the leader hangs out when casting.
+30milesOut Thanks for the quick answer Ty! Makes sense...I unfortunately don't have clear water over on the east coast of Florida with the Indian and Banana being like chocolate milk and can't catch anything but catfish, puffer and the occasional jack, ladyfish or snapper. I did find those tactical clips on amazon...going to try them out! Thanks again!
a floro leader will help with abrasion and teeth cutting the line...
i just want to know where to get one of those line cutter necklaces at?
www.linecutterz.com/
i just put a string on the zipper pull design
Thank you, just found and ordered a couple, much appreciated
u got it bud. thx for watching!
Do they scare the fish
no sir
Can be use for long lip minnow ?
maybe
U ever used these clips with a spoon? Just wondered how it affected them
i use it for everything i can get on there! improves the function of every lure i have got on the clip.
The small ones that you are using are the 50lb clips. They dont make a 30lb clip. You are using it the right way. The 45 angle is to slide bait on and the 90 angle is to lock the bait in.
Thanks for letting us know. was looking for the 30lbs. clips for about ten minutes, then came back and read the comments. Back to put my 50lbs. order in. Lol!
lol... theresa pointed that out to me after i filmed ! thats what i thought on the angle... thx bro
any dealer in asia selling these clip?
been searching but not available in my country Singapore
aliexpress
What size spinning rod and reel do you use and what size casting rod and reel do you use
inshore i use 3000's (spinning) and low profile bait casters... BTB i use 4000-5000 spinning and abu. 6600 for bait casting...
thanks for your reply back. I know you use McCain rods which spinning and which casting rod do you use in Shore thanks
I've been to their website and they are out of quite a few of the kayak series rods
That's not upside down. That's how they work
That's the way I use them! Other way doesn't make sense
You are clipping the lure right.
I can't find the 30lbs clips anywhere. Did they stop making them? I can only find 50lbs and up
my bad.. yes only 50lb... they work great for inshore tho... they are still really small... all i use
Check on Amazon! I bought mine from there. 30 pack of 50lb for cheap!
awesome!
+Max Jaramillo did the same thing :)
i think they only have 50 and up. my bad. I've been using the 50s
I could only find them from 50lb, 125 lb, and 175lb.
yes... the 50's are where its at.. i thought mine were 30s but they were 50s. good all around
O.K. ill get some fifties. Tired of loosing reds with snaps.
yes sir.. lost many reds and some big trout with snaps... no mo!
Can I use this clip for a rig line?
not sure what u mean by RIG LINE... say agin bud?
30milesOut I use the drop bottom rig some tackle shop have
don't really think u would need the clip for that. just in the way
You said the old style will catch weeds. Think about the way you do it.
do you like that clip on soft plastics or only top water?
love them on top water.. they make them walk better. they do fine for jig heads as well
30lb
You are wrong it is not that strong 80 to 85%.
You are not doing thing new. That last knot was ........
