    I watched this video at lunch time in whataburger with no sound! And this is the best knot video/ leader tutorial I have ever seen. Take in consideration that I'm fairly new to the artificial bait thing.
    So thanks Ty!

    Nice, I use those breakaway clips here the the UK.
    That's the knot I use to tie the clip too, I've always known it as a half blood knot but i guess the name is irrelevant.
    It works.

    I would like to add the always connect directly to lure and not to a swivel or split that come on some lure. It can cause certain lure not to swim right. Mostly trolling lure. You only need one pivot point.

    • @30mofishing

      yes sir... like on the unfair lures.... they have a swivel... i just push it aside and put paper clip straight to the bait... good point brandon..

    This is the set-up I use…I have Parkinson's and have big time trouble tying knots…The only difference I make is I use split rings because trying to thread my line through the hook eye has become a ordeal for me…It is very frustration and can take up to much fishing time

    3:30 The guy who taught me how to tie this knot when I was a kid called it a "fisherman's" knot , so that's what I called it. Then I started fly fishing and all those guys call it a "clinch knot" , which is what I've been calling it for years. Until this video I haven't heard anyone else call it a fisherman's knot (guy who taught me the knot was from Kentucky , so maybe its a regional thing).

    with the fishermen's knot that you use to connect the leader to the clip once you do your twist and run the tag line threw the bottom hole and start to tighten you'll notice the top loop twists back over if you run your tag line back threw the top loop the knot becomes much stronger

    • @xbnvdsx
      @xbnvdsx 8 лет назад +1

      He tied that knot specifically being the clinch knot, what you're describing is the improved clinch... He did it due to the stiff nature of heavy flouro...

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  8 лет назад

      yes sir.. improved clinch... i use this with thin leaders... anything over 20lb (especially) with floro, i find a regular clinch is faster and just as strong...

    Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

    i just bought the 50lb for my bass spinning rod. i looked but i didnt see any 30lb by tactical angler the smallest was 50. its wider and just as long as my vmc 50lb swivel snaps so i dont know it i should use them especially since they are shiny steel while the vmc is black but also has a swivel. tactical angler did a test and those off brand clips do not have a true weight rating.

    Hello this is a great video. Very informative. I am a saltwater angler from Sri Lanka. I always wated to do away most of hardware in front of the lure. I am currently using a heavy fluro instead of wire trace we used to have in fear of losing lures to macs and kudas. For the convinience of changing lures what if i have a strong split ring instead of snaplock end of the fluro so that i can change lures using a plier. Its not as easy as using a snaplock but eliminates having too many hardware. What are my chances of damaging line with split ring end? Thanks heaps for very useful tips

    These do not impede or hurt the action of the lure? I got away from any fasteners years ago and tie direct for better lure action. That said, tying on new baits to find the pattern is laborious and takes time from bait in water.

  • @brucer9409
    @brucer9409 3 года назад +1

    recently viewed a video which was critical on large size of the 50# clip. U mentioned 30's early in the video, but I don't see any 30# option. I think they introduced a micro 25# smaller size sometime after you made this video. I'm a fresh water bass guy looking to throw a super spook, jr. (a 3.5", 1/2 0z topwater lure) - would you be able to make a recommendation of these clips for a lure that size and weight? Other guys say they're using the 25# size more on panfish, but don't really trust it for largemouth bass - not sure I understand why?
