Bought this rifle at Al's Corner Store in the Ottawa Valley 15 years ago. I added a bi-pod. Gave it to my son for his birthday. Kind of regret giving it up to be frank. Deadly accurate. My son who lives up North takes down 4-5 Spruce Grouse with subsonic ammo before the first one even knows what hit him. If you see one, buy it;.
How durable are the mags on the 78? I almost bought one instead of a Marlin xt-22, but now I kinda want to get it. Found them new at local CDN tire, but the plastic mags scared me off.
Indeed, ugly gun but very accurate, and the only problem I saw with it was a plastic nut for the trigger adjustment that I had to switch for a steel one, 10 cent fix.
It is a shame that using a .22 for migratory birds here is considered poaching. Much better chances of a good kill with those than you have with steel shot.
Thanks for the great video!

Russians really do have some unique designs. Some designs are excellent. Too bad the fit/finish varies so much...
