yeaaaa baby bossanova!
Every morning and every day... I BOSSANOVA WITCHA!
Ahh, was so glad when I heard Joey say Bossanova. Every song on there is excellent.
Good to see that album get love...it is my favorite as well
Man, I hope they play 'Stormy Weather' the next time I see them.
Niiiice. Didn't like Bossanova much at first but it ended up growing on me the most over time. Kind of a dark album.
Mark Squier it had to grow on me as well. A lot of albums I love today sort of turned me off upon first listen.
I can understand Joey picking Bossanova because his guitar is more out front on that album than the others - and he does a spectacular job on it. It's probably my 2nd fave of their 4 heyday albums and I always thought of it as their foray into psychedelia.
the melodies and harmonies on bossanova are amazing.
Yeah that record has so much more going for it than good guitar, even when there's so much of that.
I'm with Joey on this one, it's my #1
It’s a great album, i agree with joey, Pixies masterpiece is Bossanova
Doolittle is my favourite album of all time. Having said that, all four original albums (plus Come on Pilgrim) are basically perfect as far as I'm concerned. The less said about the reunion albums the better.
Their first five records are freaking amazing, their reunion albums are weak even though i have a fondness for Beneath The Eyrie, that's a good one
My favorite albums, start to finish, are Surfer Rosa and Doolittle, but some of my favorite individual tunes by the band are on Bossanova and Tromp Le Monde.
Literally my exact opinions
Same here
Joey is pretty spot on here. I love Bossanova's rich sound, the guitars are beautiful (probably the only Pixies album you could use that adjective for). Doolittle is my top pick but Bossanova's close behind for me. But c'mon Pixies 1987-91 it's all top tier
Trompe le Monde is #1 for me although all of the original 4 are GREAT. Trompe is by far the most sonically powerful!
I couldn’t agree more. Such a good album.
1. Doolittle (1989)
2. Surfer Rosa (1988)
3. Trompe Le Monde (1991)
4. Bossanova (1990)
5. Come On Pilgrim - EP (1987)
6. Indie Cindy (2014)
7. Beneath the Eyrie (2019)
8. Head Carrier (2016)
@Alec Eiffel it’s certainly the rawest, "Caribou" and "The Holiday Song" are two of my favorites from them
Bossanova is the most beautiful piece of artwork
Bossanova is my favorite album too. It needs more recognition.
Surfer Rosa and Bossonova always resonated with me the most, and by far.
Every morning and every day!
1. Doolittle
2. come on pilgrim
3. Surfer rosa
Imo
My two favorites are Come On Pilgrim and Trompe Le Monde (YES IK COP IS AN EP)
Doolittle was, is and will always be thier masterpiece.
TROMPE LE MONDE
Surfer Rosa
Doolittle
Bossanova
Trompe le Monde
Come On Pilgrim
Bossanova was by far my favorite
isnt it funny how joey himself refers to themselves as "The Pixies" and not just "Pixies"?
Back when they came about in the 80's they were called "The Pixies" but they dropped the "The"
nixx6 Well even if it's not their official name, it's just much more natural to sat it that way.
I thought it was funny how he said that given the two of them are only half of the Pixies.
Doolittle all the way!
Mine
1. Doolittle
2. Surfer Rosa
3. Trompe le monde
4. Bossanova
5. Head carrier
6. Indie Cindy
Where would you put Beneath the Eyrie?
@@reageerbuisje5391 Above Head Carrier
Bossanova!
Doolittle is my fave. That's the one I started with. I like that the first three records are lyrically quite dark and musically quite punky; it's almost deathrock. Then with Bossanova they went a bit AOR (adult-oriented rock). Still some great songs, but not so much my vibe.
I will add that I dislike the hollow, muffled sound of Surfer Rosa. I think Albini was overrated.
" I agree with Joey. " ;)
Are you looking for the motherload?
Doolittle for sure!
Those liking Bossanova should love the Pixies three latest offerings and also Frank Blacks albums considering he wrote every bloody one of them.
i don't think they're similar at all though, even if he wrote them. Bossanova is just so colourful in comparison
#TeamBossanova
I wish they stopped recording albums after trompe le monde
Indie Cindy all the way
I wish they stopped recording albums after trompe le monde
Surfer rosa then bossanova, doolittle is overated but still good
7. Indie cindy- ugh!!
6. Head carrier- eh.
5. Surfer rosa- It's GREAT and obviously insanely influential .But also kinda overrated. Sometimes it's good for a producer to reel things in a bit ,to work with the band and have a voice. That's why music has producers. And everything after cactus is kinda just whatever to me except for maybe brick is red. I like that song.
4. Come on pilgrim- a great tight 8 songs.
3. Bossanova- god tier
2. Doolittle- god tier
1. Trompe le monde- god tier
Notice how they don't pick any of their new albums. Funny that.
It was made in 2014 and at that time they only made one new album
