There are two Harleys: I sleep
Jason Todd is alive: I sleep
Mr. Freeze was a nazi: R E A L S H I T
@Outlaw By Nature Can you please tell me what is the name of that comic with dr. Freeze s father
@Outlaw By Nature ahh yeah... Thank you anyway! Have a nice day!
@Outlaw By Nature having his father he a Nazi scientist is fine, having him be a freeze ray builder kind of undercuts friese's origin. Imho
@Outlaw By Nature I just mean if Dr. Friese became who he is because he was working with cryogenics to save his wife and was betrayed and freezified by his employer, it's just weirdly convenient his father was a crazy freeze ray builder too.
@@WrathofFenrir99 Bro. Just to comfort you. I get your point ! Too convenient story telling there. But in the end... the other guy's right... it doesn't matter that much in the end... xD
At this point, I'm surprised how people still live in Gotham.
Because it's just like any other city irl has it's nice areas and its crime ridden ones
However, the crime rate there is higher than snoop dogg. You don't get crazy people trying to blow the entirety of London up. Excluding terrorists.

This Batman has been around for “decades”, while Thomas and Martha were adults during WWII.
How old is Bruce Wayne?
Maybe 65-77?
Who knows, mabye he used the lazarus pit?
Perhaps Martha and Thomas had Bruce when they were in their 40s. That would make sense
If his parents where 20 in 1945 the would be 45 by 1970 they might have had Bruce at that age more or less which would make Batman 50 but he is probably 52 because D.C

The Lazarus Pit could keep him strong, but how would he explain his inexplicable youth to the public?
Really joker kills thousands but he is free and batman is arrested and labeled a criminal for property damage
That he pays for
Good thing this is a what if scenario.
But that said property damage like crumbling buildings killed thousands
Well i mean... 3 billion...
Well it's the same reason the joker never get sentenced to death, he was a mentally ill person therefore it is "not right" to straight up kill him. Correct me if I'm wrong though
Yet no one talks about the thousands of property damage, explosions, and murder cases that Joker has committed

@@arcadeassassin7176 yes, but then he went sane. Now I know that's unlike any other case but he TOOOTALLY should've gotten the electric chair seeing as he's now technically sane and responsible for his actions
Pleaded for insanity, no doubt.
Fun Fact: When the author wrote that jason todd was the first robin it was an accident. They didnt know anything about jason todd and they needed something to make the original harley leave. so they brought up jason todds death thinking he was the first robin.
Mission failed successfully
...uh...
That's concerning.
You know, that really explains why they wrote Jim "Bring Him In By The Book" Gordon as a painfully neglectful commissioner and Batman as the Punisher in some silly costume.
That explains so much why this comic is really enjoyable as a standalone story, but doesn't really portray Batman as who he really is
Who was the first robin then?
I really liked Jack and Harley together. I wish Jack could've somehow separated himself from joker with no consequences and lived happily with Harley but I know that's not how comics work.
If he writes his name every where in his room and get it tattooed on his arm to terrify the joker every time he comes out.

I love how amazingly written Harley is in here, the original Harley. She´s amazing and i like so much the reason why she left Jack in the first place, thats a nice way to draw the line.
The problem I always have with this style of "what if" is how easily everything gets swapped around. Like come on, ok yeah joker stole a scooter and Batman chased after him in a reckless fashion and endangered people, I get that. However these types of stories always immediately forget or ignore everything else. We are lead to believe that in this reality the joker and Batman dynamic has been going fairly similar to that of the main timeline up until recently, so that means Joker has undoubtedly committed numerous atrocities even if in this SINGLE instance he was the one who caused less damage, but because of this one instance the whole script gets flipped and Joker is more or less absolved of his wrongdoings. I get that this is a story that takes place in a made up universe, with a variety of superhumans and engaging characters that wouldn't really work in reality, but suspension of disbelief only goes so far when you go against the premise/continuity itself.
The fact is this is a different universe, and joker already been through jail a thousand of time, they won't kill him cause his not sane and you can't blame jack cus the joker is a personality and mental illness he has not control over, therefore giving jack a clean slate. that's the only defence he needs for this to really work. you can make a case for batman. I have a problem with people going agaisnt this because of what they know of the main timeline's joker, they're saying it doesnt make sense but that's ignornce for thingsyou don't understand. This story is my favourite tho and I love the fact they made jason todd the first robin.
From the video alone, I do think the whiplash from Joker to Jack is there. There is an attempt to show that he needs to seriously build trust, but it also needs more space to communicate how large that hurdle was. I admit not reading the hard material, but I think the rest of the story allows me to suspend my disbelief for this "what-if" story.
*That's illegal*

This version of Joker is pretty amazing. I like to think that Jack was there deep down. Then Harley falls in love with this man under the joker. Not the horrifying murderer
so would Harley, but we all know thats not true. What is possible is Joker in manipulating her purposefully showed hints at a good person inside that she fell for and those fake bits were based on the man he once was.

Jack is still like Joker…
They both are obsessed with Batman, trying to make a point to him…
Jack is the Joker, just a heavily suppressed much more (or maybe less) sane version of him. Jack is still a super criminal; he mind controlled all of the villains in this story and caused plenty of chaos and destruction, just with different intentions. He was obviously not a by the books good guy, maybe kind of an anti-hero, but he was still trying to prove a point to Batman, so...that's pretty Joker-like. It's just that Joker is usually so in your face about not caring about human life and living for Batman's attention that Jack seemed sympathetic, especially when he proposed to Harley and thanked her for supporting him. That was beautiful.
Jack's a decent enough guy, and brilliant, but with little restraint, and a good dose of narcissism. The Joker is a maniac with a mind as twisted as a French horn yet it still plays beautifully. Where Jack will do whatever it takes, Joker will do whatever he wants, where Jack will claim to be a White Knight in contrast to the Dark Knight, The Joker doesn't even notice anyone other than himself and Batman. It's all there, the same personality, to start with, only with the bad traits turned up to 11 And amped with turbocrazy.
Yeah wtf. Jack in the beginning really did mind controlled everyone and didn't do things in honesty lol. In the end he was still joker and won as joker lol
Wtf
Pretty much
I love the details about how the Joker's shadows is always following Jack. Artstyle is also amazing. And as always
DC has the best stories
The concept is cool and the final about the white knight of gotham felt really cool about the character, but honestly the Joker being forgiven that fast is a joke lol. Maybe if they adapt this, they can work it out like presenting Joker as even more divergent than just insanity so to sell the quick understanding better.
anyone notice Jack's reflection in the gym was white with green hair?
A little hint that even though Jack Napier is very sane, Joker will always be in him.

I've always really enjoyed this story because the joker is much smarter than Batman but his insanity hindered him from doing anything good/ productive with his intelligence. I also love the spin they did with batman because I've always felt he had the backstory of a really good villain but since Alfred was there he had the emotional support of a father figure he needed and that grounded him and gave him his principles of no killing and his thirst for justice instead of just revenge. It's an amazing story and the art style is top tier. And comicstorian is a real one for bringing those of us who didn't have comics or who are just getting into them these stories + narration.
I get annoyed when all the good comic book stories are either what if scenarios or alternative universes.

Ngl, I like this alternate version of the Batman universe. Sure, the only sacrifice is Alfreds Death, but at least Joker is officially a hero now. And now Batman knows that Jason Todd is alive now.
Honestly this story is freaking amazing. It’s a breakdown of the entire Batman vs Joker story, and it enhances the characters of Harley and Joker making them into bigger, smarter, and over all better written characters. I wish some of this stuff made its way into the canon and not all these elseworld stories.
I’d love to see this as one of the animated DC movies. This is a really good and enjoyable Batman story especially as a stand-alone story.
This would be awesome
I have said that the comics would be a gold mine for movies if they can Crack the oyster in the right way
It would most likely save the DC movie universe.. "but no, instead we get mrFish, and an actual good movie that isn't even canon"
I actually have no clue cus not only would they have to be brilliant with portraying the madness of joker but they would also have to portray the seriousness of jack
IDK, I like the themes and message of the story, but it kind of feels like they retconned batman to be WAY more of an asshole than he actually is, plus Jack never shows the slightest hint of remorse for his actions, aside from what he did to harley, and instead keeps lying and manipulating, I can exuse that since he's doing it for the greater good, but it just makes him feel off.
I started crying when Jack and Harley (nearly) got married. I swear it would have been the perfect ending for them two. But then again... This isn't fairyland. It's Batman.
@Ioana Novack I felt really bad for Jack Napier and Harley Quinn.
They both deserved a Happy End.
I mean he technically was able to say "I do" even though he turned into the Joker
Well at least he got to say I do....
It's DC and DC spits, tortures, defecates and laughs at happy endings (regardless of the universe).
Him transforming to say "I do" was important on a few levels. On one, it shows that the Joker is still a part of him, and that Harely needs to understand that. On the other hand, it shows that the woman that is still better for the Joker and not Jack will be Neo. If you think about it, they are both the best partner for either Jack or the Joker. Harley for the true man that is Jack, and Neo for every other part of the man that is Joker. One loves him in spite of his flaws, while one loves him and every one of his flaws.
Which is better? You decide. They're clearly both someone's version of perfect.

@@jay-gf7lm I think golden was the violent murder phase
With all the legal research they say he did he probably got off on insanity. They threaten to arrest him so he only mentions the crime he did while he was somewhat lucid(stealing a scooter and driving around with Batman chasing him), because that’s all they could really charge him on since he’s legally rehabilitated.
@@jay-gf7lm Probably silver age joker, since gold age joker was sort of a murder machine..
Having you narrate it, and reading it for myself, those are two completely different experiences. When I first watched this video as someone woefully ignorant of the DC universe, it intrigued me. Despite my lack of knowledge, the Joker's reputation precedes him; he is a staple of popular culture. To see him portrayed as a hero of some sort wasn't jarring then, but it most certainly is, now.
Having recently read both The Batman Who Laughs' origin comic, including his struggles with Batman; along with Batman: The Court of Owls, Night of Owls, and City of Owls; I don't see even the slightest hint of Jim "Bring Him In By The Book" Gordon in this comic; nor have I caught so much as a glimpse of Bruce Wayne, brooding-nice-guy extraordinaire. What I do see, however, is a gross corruption of both the commissioner and Gotham's surrogate angel-in-black. For the former, he is displayed as some pitifully neglectful officer, while the latter is written like, well, ironically enough, the Joker. He is obsessive, he displays very little care for his companions, he even treats Gothamites no differently than the Joker would.
And that last part, is what really gets my blood boiling. To imagine Batman as just some reckless vigilante, to suggest that he would harm innocents in his pursuit of The Joker, innocents he is supposed to protect, innocents who he bases his entire crusade upon, it sickens me. Jack may have had love poured into his every line, but the same cannot be said for his antagonists. Batman, within the very first few pages of this comic was murdered. In complete apathy, one of the greatest heroes to ever grace DC comics was shot dead in a bleak alleyway. All that's left is a torn mask and a crumpled shadow of what once was. What should have been. This was nothing short of character assassination, and I, for one, couldn't have been more disappointed.
Wow you really put a lot of thought into this all I see this is another Batman and joker adventure. Considering the joker is cool for many reasons but again this is showing another side we usually never see.

"I'm sorry I'm.all.out of ice puns" I think that was the first time he's made me laugh
"I'm sorry but I'm all out of ice puns"
- Victor Friez
This hour felt like 10 minutes wtf lmfao
Ikr xd
Add a few zeros
Funny cause jack is supposed to be in jail for life over 50 times
Really Hot Ice technically... 49 now...
Judge-“For fuck sake he’s back? He’s just ganna get out again 1,000 damn years in a literal concrete hole”
Nope it's been 150 injail
No. Joker had lots of life sentences. Jack is a good man.
It's never jail, it's always an asylum, and the only way you break out of an asylum is 1. if your psychiatrist says you're completely sane or 2. just normally breaking out like blowing up the walls and getting out.
This one was really good. I liked the fact they bring back the name of 1989 Nicholson Joker and do the clouding of the line between if he or Batman is the true villain; the dual dueling Harley's was great and seeing all the old Batmobiles was just fantastic. Wish I'd found this one sooner. Whomever DC had writing Injustice and this one need to get more books passed those writers way, because they don't write utter garbage that's sending the comic industry into foreclosure.
This was a great story. Harley saved Jack and Batman's Souls
I love in the beginning how he still shows the joker in small ways, his eyes being green and purple, his shadow having messy hair, etc.
Guys remember it’s an alternate universe, things are allowed to be different
Wazzy thank you for understanding
Oh my lord, THANK YOU. People complaining about character inconsistencies and how this story doesn’t make sense due to character history that doesn’t apply here!
Wazzy why do I see this profile picture everywhere
Tell that to marvel..who have seemed to have forgotten about the concept of multi universes and just cram all their continuity changes into the real time line..
Like these "fans" understand that. Also it's sad that they have to use "Alternative Universe" as if there is a consistent Batman timeline could follow. Literally WUT!?!
25:20 "why don't you let him decide for himself" *SLAMS HIM AGAINST WALL*
Ngl, I think the judge would probably throw out Mr . Napier’s case due to his previous insanity.
Edit: After watching the video fully I found out he manipulated the justice system. That makes more sense.
Joker is honestly my favorite character out of DC comics.
Dude, your Joker laughs and impressions are on point.
So is the batman voice
Agreed on both counts
for me the voices are very hard to tolerate
All of the voices are on point
Eh they aren't that's good. Tbh
Ngl having joker in gcpd and everyone pointing their guns at him was the best thing ive seen ever in dc comics
You either die a villain
Or
Live long enough to see yourself become a hero
Oh yes, the joker who has trained for less than a year beats a literal ninja twice his side that can take out Superman. I hate weakness for plot sake
I suppose you don't know joker that well. He have almost as much plot armor as batman, he fought batman off multiple times
Around this time he was still grieving Alfred so he was weaker
I dont know if you’re serious or not but the joker held his own against batman multiple times. Batman is just a human after all, and didnt have his tools or anything. Just fists this time around.
Batman literally just got out of a car wreck and was bleeding profusely.
Joker/Jack has some pretty thick plot armour as well. Look up how many times he 's "died"
Old Harley is thiccer than Neo
Original always better than the cover
Neo is hot! There's something about that super tight-fitting jester suit, spats, jacket, and the black tear line streaking down the face. She has a better tan than the real Harley, too. Who says clowns have to be pasty?

Out of everything here in this video the fact scar face's eyes started glowing too was the best thing by far
