I totally agree. There's such a deep humanness and sense of community, almost in a tribal and primitive way, coming out of his music. And the wisdom of simplicity as well. Truly inspiring. I'm really curious about what his musical influences are. With his use of pedal points and mixolydian/dorian modes and quartal harmony, it kind of sounds like nordic folk (which would make sense considering that he lives in Sweden).
I had the exact same feelings when I was listening to this. I can so relate to what you said. It feels like coming opening doors to a time, to a place that once was, that once existed, that was pure, bright, airy and full of joy and openness. I can't explain that feeling. This song helps me scratch the opening to that window.
In this times, this guy's music brings me that, it's good for us to know that we are not alone, that more people is having peace, with the same song, and maybe at the same moment. Hi to everyone from Chile. Sorry for my English. Hugs, and yes, there are bright times coming, "as soon as the storm is over, and all the fog is clear" from the song Storm.
Cannot wait for the album. You haven’t sold out on your sound. That’s not a common thing these days. Thank you for staying true to your soul in order to continue making music like this. It will always be good enough just as it is
Isn’t selling out the ultimate goal? You do something to make the most of it. Selling out should be the end goal whether you like it or not. Don’t misjudge selling out. It starts in the mirror.
I first heard Jose's mesmerizing voice with Zero 7. Since then, I've been an avid admirer of his work. Probably the most distinctive voice I've ever heard. All you need is one note/lyric and you know immediately it's Jose. He evokes so much emotion with just his guitar and voice, it's truly remarkable.
I heard this song during an event and I immediately recognised jose’s voice, I just fell in love with it, this made me wanna take off and reach a really far away place
Thank you so much for your art, José! I'm 22 and listen to your music for half of my life now. This video, your lyrics and what Mikel writes about information bits and how they form ever-changing patterns, about mind viruses... "Join forces and deal with it, head on". It resonates a lot. We're in crazy times! When will we as a collective see ideas as what they are - ideas, projections, castles of thought straight from the mind? When will we be willing to focus on the Living and Real, on that what connects us all without excluding any uniqueness, that we all bring as expressions of life? Can we choose love over fear? I'm giving my best and I send love to everyone who's reading this.
It felt so good to see those tiny moving parts onwards! To think that I am the only one playing Dr. Conway's game here in our neighborhood. I'll always remember that I am never alone. Thank you thank you thank you!
i remember back around 2011 when i hangout in my cousin's house on a weekend, i used to play this game called Red Dead Redemption on his PS3 for hours. then theres one moment where my character goes across the border to fictional Mexico, and the game starts to play Gonzalez's "Far Away", i felt so immersed listening to it as i watch my character rides his horse throughout the desert landscape.. now here i am, 10 years afterwards, still entranced by his newest songs haha
You never fail to elicit strong emotional reactions with your music. This is easily my favorite song since "So Far Away", and the inclusion of The Game of Life just makes it so much more poignant for me. I hope you never stop bringing joy like this into the world. Thank you.
I think one of the soft drum instrument used here is called maadal from nepal. No western music has ever used it this well. This song tone itself has similarities with Nepali songs.

for me, ever since Red Dead Redemption. I still get the goose bumps thinking about going to mexico with the sun setting listening to Far Away
You get me through seasonal depression in Ireland's 8 month winter ever time... My h love José ❤️
As a fellow Irish man, I can relate haha. This winter was especially brutal and depressing. Saved by music
Not far. Sw Scotland here. Summer here and still feels like winter aha music keeps my heart beating 💓

Brilliant and so apropos! Dealing with it all, head on! Thank you for your beauty!
So cool you used that!!
Roll on Glasgow Joseboy! Good luck with your gig tonight
there is just something about José's music that feels otherworldly, like it's coming from a better place where all that matters is our humanity.
