- 'A Mother's Love ' is a supremely beautiful composition by American poet Helen Steiner Rice. It celebrates the unique and everlasting love of a mother for her child. Mothers endure torments and take on any force no matter how mighty to protect and shield their children. No matter how the world views one, it makes no difference to a mother's love for her child. It is well nigh impossible to fathom the power and expanse of this unconditional and divine love. Rudyard Kipling famously wrote ' God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mothers.' This wonderful poem poignantly echoes that very sentiment.
Full poem:
A Mother's love is something
that no one can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

I can absolutely relate to this. Mothers would do anything for their children and have been doing so since the dawn of time.
So many emotions surged through me while listening to this. Certainly mothers deserve all the appreciation and love their children have for them. Lovely poem.

Nice poem
Mom
Mom was never stingy
She gave her soul to love
Her beauty was beyond compare
her hands wore cotton gloves
She didn't count the money
when going out in stile
From mother's lips there came a kiss
that never could beguile
She loved our dad like crazy
and he was just the same
They married in a whirlwind
with a love that burned like flame
Mom stayed home with babies
when dad went off to build
glad he had survived the war
and earned the GI bill
They filled his house with children
one after the next
then sent us off to Catholic school
and the sisters did the rest
Life is just what happens
when your busy making plans
Mom just hid herself away
I've come to understand
loving life for loves' own sake
She gave us all she had
but children are so hard to take
and they drive their mothers mad
It was her crucifixion
When her chicks flew from the nest
Children are so insensitive
Now I understand I guess
👍👍❤️
