I thought when going backwards inside edge I should be on the ball of the foot? Why do you say the heel? Is that just at the end?
We skate through the heel and roll the skate to the ball of the foot as we push. This is because the human leg is hinged at the ankle.
Watching this again. They teach this with the opposite arm position you are doing in the video. Like yours are in the wind up position.

i dunno where you skate, but it’s usually WAY more than $5 more for a freestyle session. you could be paying $30 or more in the northeast US. 🙄
