Hawke: Go ahead, I love to eavesdrop Varric: Hawke said sarcastically Hawke: You know, I hate it when you do that >:( Varric: Hawke said angrily to the dwarf
+Date Masamune Both Hawk and Varric were ruined in Inquisition imo. DA2's game play was pretty subpar, but it had some amazing character writing.... DA:I was exactly the opposite... great game play and terrible characters.
+Krescentwolf Well, you do have to factor in that Hawke got absolutely no break in life; at best, their mother and one of their siblings died, 4 out of 5 of their LIs can betray them at some point, and they pretty much feel as if all that war, death, and destruction from the Mage-Templar war is their fault.
CaptainRed1000 Maybe it was done on purpose, I'm not certain... But Varric felt... empty... tired... His snappy one-liners and zing from DA2 just didn't seem to be there. But my biggest problem with the DAI cast is that there was relatively little character developement in them. DA did it great... and DA2's one shining achievement was that it wrote GREAT characters. Bull and the rest of the cast felt... flat. That's not to say DA:I didn't have its own share of shining moments... it did. The characters just didnt feel like they measured up to the rich world the devs made.
1:25 LMFAO imagine if she used this line when arguing with her Grey Warden friend in the Fade: Warden: You killed almost every mage in Kirkwall! Sarcastic Hawke: A demon made me do it!
Humorous Hawke and the dialogue in general were the highlight of the whole game and the fact that characters actually react to the sarcasm and humor makes it all worth it.
So many times I told myself I was going to do a serious Hawke, but I just can't do it sarcastic Hawke is just priceless. Everyone in DA2 wants to take everything so seriously, and then Hawke shows up ready to make a joke at their expense.
My personal favorite is when revered mother Elthina sees through sister Petrice's ruse. It goes something like: "I think she saw right through you... Quick, try lying more!"
Some of the sarcastic remarks Hawke makes are hilarious, and frankly - asked for. Others are mean. I played mine as starting out diplomatic with a good sense of humour, and then gradually, as she becomes more jaded, using more and more sarcasm. Trouble is, the game wants you to be one thing all the time. That's meh.
@@Galastel Unfortunately, it would be rather difficult to program all the different hybrid personalities and it would be too easy to shift between them
There's one in the Legacy DLC where Hawke says; "Corypheus... with a name like that he's bound to go MU HA HA HA at some point." That was the greatest sarcastic Hawke remark I've ever heard.
Honestly, the game has it's faults, but the dialogue is pure friggin' gold. Hawke: "So I shouldn't slit my wrists and dance under the moonlight to fit in?" Anders: "I'd pay to see that."
My favorite companion line in the whole game is when the Arishok says he's taking Isabela and Aveline pipes up "Oh, no. If anyone is kicking her ass, it's me." lol. For all its flaws I really enjoyed DA2, especially the dialogue. The companions and Hawke were like their own little family.
Humorous Hawke was an absolute fucking gold mine of hilarity - and tbh, a lot of the reason I kept coming back to play DA2. I really wish they integrated more of her sarcasm in Inquisition though.
The first time I played, I did the entire first act as a diplomatic/nice Hawke, and only started being a sarcastic/humorous Hawke in the second act. I never looked back.
My favorite line Hawke: "I love to eavesdrop on people." Varic: "Hawke said sarcastically" Hawke: you know I hate it when you do that." Varic: "Hawke said in an aside to the Dwarf."
Well, they do say a line depending of their personality if you let them die and didn't have them dating anyone. Otherwise, they apologize to their love interest.
Makes sense, considering the DA2 events and all that happened to her, and the ending, and the shitstorm going on in the world... Maybe lost some of her humor. Despite that, one quite funny line still remains.
well my Hawke romanced Anders and killed him after he blew up the chantry so her seriousness is a bit explained in inquisition. particularly her hatred for blood magic
That's why I don't want them to bring back the Warden (if you did the Dark Ritual). Many people are like "Oh, I want to see my Warden again, he/she can have a voice actor/actress like they did with Hawke". Yeah, but Hawke was nothing like Dragon Age II, and with so many origins and personalities you could pick for your Warden, I feel like giving the Warden a generic personality or voice will ruin him/her. I had a female Blood Mage Hawke in one World State, and she was vehemently against Blood Magic in Inquisition, which just made her look like a hypocrite....
I laughed so much when she said, "Soil yourself later!' to the viscounts son. Love all of them though, too funny. Am always a sarcastic Hawke. It's just too good
I did my first play-through as almost entirely diplomatic fem Hawke and yeah I liked it, but oh my god I didn’t expect to like Sarcastic Hawke so much on my second run, it made the game even better lol
Would really love if the Dragon Age 4 protagonist could have the choice to be Hawke levels of funny or Warden levels of evil, that would make for some fantastic dialogue choices xD
whatever they say about dragon age 2, i believe that having a voice for the protagonist as this humorous choice give us some of the best dialogues on the whole series, something that inquisition follow seconds and that make the origins falls short in relevance of character; think about it, in inquisition your hawke can appear, no matter what way you choose, and depending on who, the perception of people change, but the hero of ferelden, was only "a friend" or "brave" quite superficial
Eh, I liked my Warden not having a voice. It was harder to read tone sometimes, but the amount of personalites you could have was amazing. There were often five to eight responses you could have to something, all with different tones and feelings. You could also have real arguments and conversations with characters, something that's not so lacking in DAII but was a major downfall in DAI (imo). Having said that, DAII and DAI was fine with voice acting and I enjoyed it.
I may be a bit late But the best is if you choose the humorous personality on Hawk for DAI. My Lavellan and zero were like a standup comedy duo for 5 minutes straight 😂
Her childlike innocence is hilarious... Especially the quest with Aveline and Donnic or after you do Varric's quest with his brother, and he says something about priests being lit on fire..
09:39 - "In a moment I'll look down and see I have no pants on!" Great, I may or not use that next time before the next big battle in Mass Effect of Dragon Age Inquisition in the Future or something.
And Cassandra wanted this chick to lead a holy war...
Well, Varric did take a few liberties when he wrote it all down...
Hawke was right about the nugskin coats though. My Inquisitor loves dem nugskins.
judging by this she'd have made a pretty good Shepard too
So many disgusted noises when varric was telling the story.
HowlingFlames whats a vekel?
I think my personal favorite is: "Gamlen can't say good morning without lying twice".
That shit is gold
if it was, Gamlen wouldn't have trouble with debt collectors though...

***** Lol I can only Imagine if Cullen heard that in 2 then in Inquisition.
Varric too. He predicted that Corypheus would shit a dragon from his hole.
Haru Totetsu Coincidence I think not
First playthrough of Dragon Age II, I played as a Female Sarcastic Hawke...
Needless to say, I ended up wanting to romance myself.

Sarcastic Hawke makes the game worth playing.

That was incredible and also the first time I ever heard the line xD
Cadence Hiddleston Solas greatly approves
I wish that was a dialogue option with Solas. I can already see him turning red from the tips of his ears to the entirety of his bald egghead.
Lol
It’s also hilarious that the elf’s comeback is to essentially call Hawke a human.
Hawke said sarcastically.
You know I hate it when you do that.
Hawke said in an angry aside to the dwarf.
Cairrean If, ah, you two have a moment.
Aveline is judging Hawke so hard throughout the entire video.
+SogekingSchofield503 "How about I shove a canary up your coal mine?" That one had me crying.

Agreed.
too true.
I prefer male Hawke. The voice acting just feels better.
"By the time I'm done with them these Templars will swear the sky is green"
Best example of foreshadowing I have ever heard.

Brynn Cousland Glad I could help!

Well.....Shit.
Nope. The best example of foreshadowing in DA2 is Sandal's creepily accurate "prophecy"
"Helping people and killing people are what I'm best at" one of my fav lines :D
"Er..I uh... Hope there will be no call to kill anyone, serah."
i have a t-shirt that say that xD

It's like sneak Archer in skyrim, you can try not to, but you will always inevitably play sarcastic Hawke
She's like a slightly nicer Morrigan.
Morrigan had a better figure though.

That is all.
You were right the first time.

I'm disappointed Sarcastic Hawke didn't pull out much of her witty lines in the Inquisition. Sighhhh! I miss it so.
Still had one of my favorite lines in the game:
"If this is the afterlife, the Chantry owes me an apology. This looks NOTHING like the Maker's bosom."
You've clearly missed something, someone has made a absolutely amazing compilation, or should I say three?
You have to select the sarcastic Hawke path in DA Keep. For it to transition into Inquisition.
too bad Inquisition didn't pull off half of the wit that DA2 did.

Aveline is that one friend who is both sick of everyone else's shit and will absolutely be the first to punch out someone who threatens the group.
The only way to play the game xD
They will say that the sky is green
In inquistion they're right.

This is why Hawke should have been the inquisitor. She's able to keep it all in perspective. Also she would've called Solas on his bullshit
It feels like they are the bloopers of dragon age 2 XD
She really is superb. She delivers all of the lines perfectly.
