- A huge thanks to the very friendly ringers of the Cathedral Church of the Holy Trinity at Winchester. Because of their kindness and generosity, I made this video as a thank you for them. Mr N Bucknall in particular!
I went to this place and I’ve always wanted to know what the bells sound like and now I know. Lovely bells 😀
Just like the launch of Meridian TV on New Year's Day 1993!!!
good choice of music at the start it fits well
I went a different way up to you. I went above the ceiling
It’s sound like buckfasts bells but the tenor sounds different
They're basically in the same key. But yes you're right, Winchester's tenor doesn't sound as mellow and sonorous as Buckfast's because it's about a quarter of a ton lighter so not as thick. Winchester are still a fantastic set of bells though, don''t get me wrong!
@@RingerJake Also, it's an 8b not 6b just so you know if you do not already. i just noticed it in the title
Did you have to wear ear defenders to go into the bell chamber when the bells were being rung?
Yup! Otherwise I would have been absolutely deafened beyond belief!!
I remember the Lord Peter Wimsey episode "The Nine Tailors". Lots of bell ringing.
its not a 6b its a 8b
