Love your accent ( and your cookies). I was born and raised in Flatbush. Brooklyn N.Y. Made me homesick for the old days. Am 80 now. Been away for 53 yrs now. Live in Tx. God bless you and keep this going. .
My grandmother made these every Christmas and I'm a senior! I make these every Christmas and now my daughter does too. Gramma's gone and I never asked her where she learned this recipe, but your video has brought back good memories of her. Thanks!
Love this recipe! 😋 Been doing it for years. Last year I decided to change it up and used one tsp of coconut, as well as vanilla. I also melted white chocolate for the glaze. Total game changer, and I will be doing it that way this year! Oh and at the end I put green and red sprinkles since I make these for Christmas! ❤️
Diana DeLaFuente I see your no longer posting videos on RUclips but I wanted you to know I adore your personality! You just made me smile ( a real smile, not a fake one I give so frequently) Thank you for that and this delicious recipe! Take care!
Your energy is so wonderful! And, YES! I'm going to be making your Cherry Snowball Cookies for folks at work this upcoming Thursday to give them a final boost to finish out the week with a smile on their faces! And... I was told to double your recipe: everyone wants them! They've got admirers galore! Thank You Diana!
I absolutely adore this lady and between her GREAT personality and cooking the way she explains everything to you in such a soothing manner.... Thank you thank you!!
I can’t begin to tell you how excited my family and I are making these beautiful cookies that found their way onto my feed today! My daughter loves maraschino cherries so I couldn’t go wrong and we had all the ingredients I just put a shadow of a panful into the oven and I have one coming out and being processed into snow footballs at the present time by my two granddaughters! I just wanted to tell you thank you and what a joy person joyful person you are❤️
My grandma would make chocolate cherries and coconut cherries during the holidays. Grandpa and I would eat and eat til they were all gone so grandma would hide them. Grandpa and I would always find them. One year she hid them in the shed behind the barn and the possums found them. They chewed her new GIANT Tupperware bowl and she was mad. Yours look a bit different but thanks for the wonderful memory. 👍
My mother would make DOZENS of holiday cookies and store them in the basement freezer. My bedroom was in the basement, also, and I would get up in the middle of the night and raid her cookie stash. Miss you, mom.❤
I am definitely going to try this recipe.. yummy! Here's my spin on it...I plan to dip the cookies into melted chocolate instead of the icing and coconut.. I wonder if you've tried that.. if so let me know how it came out.I'm sure they will come out wonderful!! Thanks for your wonderful recipes... warm wishes for the holidays..
I think the chocolate would be good. I may do half semi-sweet chocolate and half white chocolate, and do a whole recipe just like the recipe.. Some of my family is allergic to chocolate. Some of them don't coconut. Looks like a great new recipe for my Christmas cookie repertoire! I try to add at least one new recipe each year. Thankful I saw this recipe on You Tube.
These are fantastic! My zia and zio came to my house after I made these and they went crazy!!! They loved them and gave them my entire batch of cookies. LOL I baked more today in hopes I'll have some for the holidays. These were absolutely delicious
I'm going to make them, just because you're the MOST ADORABLE, SWEET woman I've ever seen sharing her recipe!!! Ya sold me in these and I don't even like candied cherries! LoL Ahhhh too cute!!! I'll try to share mine after I make them...hugs from Ontario Canada I SUBSCRIBED!!!
lol Me three! But, I have a similar recipe from more than 50 years ago. They are called Bon Bons and they have icing on top, not coconut. My mom made them now I have for 50 years. These look yummy!
Kathie Ingald Is your recipe the same as this one? Do you use the exact same ingredients for your bon bons? Also, you mentioned icing on them, do you make it like a glaze costing (like a glazed donut? Hope to hear back from you! Thanks!
I made these cookies and put them on mixed cookie plates for my neighbors and friends. They were a huge hit! They are absolutely delicious! ! Thank you for sharing.
These cookies are awesome! We made our dough green and cut em' in half so you could see the red and green with the "snow" on top thanks so much for the recipe!
I made this recipe and they are soooo good!! They seriously taste amazing. I used almond extract because I absolutely love almond extract. Thank you for this recipe I will be making this often:)
I found this video last year and made a batch for my family and they LOVED these cookies! My eldest son, who is 30, asked for theses cookies again this year!! Thanks for sharing this recipe, it's become a new favourite holiday tradition!
Once she said "I chopped the bejeezus out of it", I LOL'd and immediately subscribed 😁👍 I'll be making these this year for gifts. Thank you for this recipe. ❤
I made these cookies yesterday. I made them with Almond extract. They were so delicious. This was the first recipe I tried from your channel. Thank you for this recipe. I am adding these cookies to my favorite cookie list. I am going to look at your other cookies recipes and see which ones I will make next :-).
Love the way these look, I'm gonna try them. Did you ever try soaking those cherries in alcohol or some type of liquor? We do that a lot in my country, maybe thats why everyone is so happy around holidays. 😜 For those who are sensitive to sugar like I am, you can use flaxseed an water mixture instead of sugar icing. I use it every time I need to make something sticky. Also, Eastern European stores that sell products from Croatia, Serbia or Bosnia often sell finely chopped coconut for this purpose(someone told me Indian stores have it too but I haven't checked yet).
I was thinkin' since the Cherries are open and hollow (pitted)- Pipe some melted Dark Chocolate into the center of each. Or a Cashew. Soaking them in Rum sounds great too (the Cherries).
@@johannasmith3081 MMMMM Tint the Coconut colors and do some different Booze soaked Cherries. Pick out some pony bottles at the Liquor Store. My Father would love Anisette.
Diana DeLaFuente, I'm so happy I found your video. With the holidays right around the corner, this is perfect. They made my mouth water, I just wanted to bite into them. Plus I love cherries and coconut. Thank you for posting. I'm going to pass this video to my daughter-in-law, she so enjoys making cookies, and my 7 yr. old grand daughter gets right in there with her.
Similar to my family recipe but it's a pure shortbread cookie recipe of butter, flour, cocoanut extract and icing sugar. The glacé us icing sugar and the marachino cherry juice. Then rolled in chopped cocoanut. I also roll some. In finely chopped walnuts. I don't use a full teaspoon if the dough because we want it to be all about the cherry. Use a bit less if you're able to by flattening it more. Due to the high butter less sugar of the cookie dough it can get quite sticky so we sit with a clean tea towel on our laps and after every second to third flattened cookie we wipe our hands off of the oil of the butter mixture and continue. We buy the largest jar of marachino cherries we can and bake close together. This cookie doesn't spread a lot so you're able to put about 6 per row on the shorter level and I can usually get about 15 rows for about 90 cookies. This is a long process. The cookies need to completely cool before dipping into the icing mixture or it won't adhere to the cookie. We call this recipe CHERRY FLIPS and we make them only at Christmas time to keep them special.
I finally made these yummy cookies, I was afraid I couldn’t get them to turn out, I did it so so cute and looks like I am an advanced baker. Thank you and Happy Holidays

You could marinate the cherries in rum for 2 weeks and use those for adults.
I like the way you think :)
Great idea........
Soaking them that long might take the color out, I'd just put rum in the glaze :)
Great idea, on the rum. Lol
