- E-hailing service Bolt finds itself in hot water again following an incident where one of its drivers allegedly stabbed two female passengers. One of the victims sustained injuries requiring stitches on her lower back. The incident has raised concerns about passenger safety.

What he did is wrong… and those girls were wrong too by choosing cash payments instead of card when they don’t have cash. They request the driver to go to ATMs and don’t wanna pay extra the inconvenience they’ve caused. At first, the driver was reasonable enough to involve the police… but as always, SAPS were not helpful and he got angry

When the driver heard the call conversation, he dropped her off at a nearby shop immediately, which I totally support the driver's decision, these drunkards, especially women, always take advantage of their gender. Unfortunately, the lady was robbed of her phone by night street robbers, which is a good lesson for her.

Violence is never the answer. While it's frustrating for drivers to deal with situations where they feel taken advantage of, there are better ways to handle it. Reporting the incident and canceling the ride if necessary are the best options. Although it’s difficult in the spur of the moment to think clearly and make rational decisions. One of the girls could’ve lost her life over petrol and the inconvenience of R150 which would be so unnecessary and bad.

Im not shocked that this happened with bolt. I left my phone in a bolt car and when i tried to call it back and he switched it off. Mind due, the driver was not that far. When i called bolt they said they cant do anything and I should go the police station. Till this day I didn't get my phone. All i can say is never bolt. Uber is better but bolt directly protects their thuggery drivers

Some drivers are shit holes. I have experienced a threat from a bolt driver just because the amount I was supposed to pay which was showing on my phone was different from the one that was on his app. I use uber now and it's perfect

Fortunately, that Driver can be tracked & traced as all his information from ID to address etc is available.
When it the tables are turned, and a driver is assaulted, robbed and even killed, which is a daily occurrence - the guilty rider/s cannot be traced and Bolt takes no action as all they have is a phone number and an email address which can’t assist in any investigations as Non RICA’ed SIM cards are freely available on the street and one can create as many email addresses they want - so the rider identity cannot be traced at all.
Bolt has promised and even said they have started Rider identity verification- but all this is lies from Bolt, and also from Uber.
