when dave first started touring after nirvana dissolved, everyone in the crowd would ask them to play this song, but he refused to play it. but now foo fighters is such a successful band that i doubt that most of the crowd recognizes this song...
How weird it must be for Dave to perform this song. He refused to do it when the band first started. can’t speak for Kurt but I’m definitely proud. I bet he never imagined himself performing this in front of Wembley
I think Kurt would be proud. Dave played alone + easy target for Kurt once, and after hearing it, he kissed Dave saying "finally I'm not the only songwriter". He loved Dave, I'm sure he'd have been happy to see his friend doing this
I love Nirvana and this song became a fav of mine when it came out on the heart shaped box b side. This was exactly when I fell in love with Dave Grohl. Until then it was Kurt but this song is why Im not suprised that he has become a Rock Legend on 2 of the greatest bands ever.
OH SHIT, a song from the Pocketwatch demos! (Yeah, technically it's a Nirvana song, but my mind just goes to Pocketwatch demos before the Nirvana version).
Looking back at this after everything that has been going on lately I just realized that, for good or for bad, at the end of the day it's all about Dave. Foos are Dave's band. No matter if it's a song that came out as Nirvana, if it's under the name of Foo Fighters, The Holy Shits or the Dee Gees, it's just Dave's musical vision with the help and collaboration of some amazing musicians. And it gives me hope because it means that we will get more of this beautifuk music, whether it's as the Foos or under any other name.
Dave has earned my respect at first i didnt feel right with dave going on without krist... but i think dave grohl looked up to kurt way more than what the public eye knows. I believe alot of his songs come from his infatuation with him but doesnt want us to know.
I think Dave and Kurt were friends and they both learned a lot from each other, but by the time they played this, I think Dave has long overshadowed Kurt. Foo Fighters are Gen z’s Led Zeppelin, and they are long moved on from that punk era.
@@BoxOfCurryos 😂 that's ridiculous. Foo fighters are a good band but overshadowing kurt is laughable. Nirvana has sold waaaaay more records with waaaay less albums. Not even close
Seeing this..and thinking of Kurt walking into the room (while they were roommates) and asking Dave, "Hey, what is that?" Then a nervous Dave harmonizing with Kurt is pretty special in hindsight. Obviously Kurt appreciated Dave's writing.

Wow. Don`t think nirvana would have lasted much longer, with this guys talent. He was gonna front his own band regardless of cobain. May have taken a few more years. God/Jesus bless and save all that read this.
This song was written by Dave Grohl about Kurt Cobain being jealous of him because Kurt was scared that Dave will be more famous than him that is why Kurt committed suicide so he will die famous. Kurt also stated that "it is better to be burnt out than to fade away". Dave wanted Nirvana to be more mainstream but Kurt did not like it but Dave really embraced the fame which was Kurt is being afraid of since he really doesn't like his band mates to be more famous but Dave wanted more fame - the reason he made Foo Fighters since Kurt don't like Nirvana to be more mainstream since it will destroy Nirvana and Kurt's grunge image - that is why lyrics was written like this: "He(Kurt) scared, in case I(Dave) want it all(fame), He(Kurt) scared, because I(Dave) want(fame). And about the Marigold, I think it was the flowers where Kurt is lying down in their music video in Heart-Shaped Box. So I think Dave and Krist really have an idea about Kurt's suicide.
