    that day i saw a Veloz parked next to a Alza in a shopping mall, i must say Veloz looks way nicer and more towards SUV look, and also Veloz looks bigger size maybe of the height. 95K for Toyota 7 seater with such a spec is worth, i remember years ago my friend bought the Toyota Sienta at about rm100k, i would say this Veloz at 95K is way more worth. Compact 7 seater with good fuel consumption has high demand in Malaysia.

  • @1chai
    @1chai Год назад +47

    I came from Perodua Viva to this Veloz. I feel paying extra RM20k is justified. Nobody can convert an Alza to a Veloz in the aftermarket even he is willing to spend RM20k for 'renovation'.
    I think UWM Toyota should allocate more manpower on the Veloz production line because most people will choose Veloz over new Vios. People who are able to spend RM96k, are fathers of newborns. Veloz provide a better rear space over the Vios for family members.
    The comparison between Veloz and new Vios is no longer the same like the comparison between Avanza and old Vios. Veloz is a true passenger car, not a van with ladder frame platform.

    • @etjh6560
      @etjh6560 Год назад +6

      Yeah, Veloz when driving with 2-4 pax really drives well like a regular sedan just feels slightly higher and upright, so won't feel much difference with Vios aside from the ride height.
      Then you get the option to carry 6-7 pax when you need to, though it might feel a little heavy on full load.

    • @MitchelAmore
      @MitchelAmore Год назад

      Yes. I really cannot brain the new pricing of new vios. Almost rm100k for a car? Crazy like ni brain. But to wait more than a year for Veloz is crazy too.

      @etjh6560 Год назад

      @@MitchelAmore the waiting list used to be 4 months
      Until a lot of potential Alza buyers decide to get Veloz
      Alza at the time waiting list was 6-8 months
      Now Veloz 1 year Alza >1 year haha
      However in 2002-2008 a B segment sedan was around 70-90+k?
      100k is not much increase compared to food prices these days weyh

    nice for cruising and for daily drive to run errands and in traffic jam, but once up the karak highway, got to lower your expectations, rpm rev high, engine roar loudly but don’t go any faster especially if with 4 adult, very hard to overtake lorries and buses as it takes longer time to overtake without blocking other car behind

    Just slap in azdome/70mai rearview dashcam around 400+ then u hv a reversecam
    Leather seat i can install later aswell

    I don't know why he said Veloz is better drive than Alza with higher center of gravity. I had a new Alza and have tested Veloz also. I wanna buy Veloz but the queue is more than 1 year long. I booked new Alza when it launched and end up taking Alza since got allocation. End up I put almost half price downpayment since got budget.
    What I like about Veloz
    1. The sitting position is higher and better vision. Feel like SUV while Alza feel like wagon.
    2. Wireless charging and wireless carplay is convenient.
    3. 17 inch wheel look greater and also firmer ride give the impression of solid compare to Alza
    4. Telescopic adjustment of steering is great for driving position. Alza doesn't have but not too bad coz I still feel quite comfortable despite of 180cm height.
    5. Toyota badge is more premium than P2, it is undeniable.
    6. Cabin noise isolation is better than Alza.
    7. Front bumper design looks better.
    Cons
    1. Aircond cannot blow on leg.
    2. No center locking button, this is weak.
    3. Body roll is higher than Alza
    Is it worth of 20k more? It is subjective to individual. There are many people afford 95k and like Toyota badge. It is absolutely nothing wrong to go for it. Imagine new Vios is 2 seats lesser but selling similar price like Veloz. Isn't the Veloz consider as bargain?
    Alza in another hand is toward budget concern customers or those people who prefer buy thing in value of money. Also got people like me feel the Veloz queue is super long and place deposit on duo. See which car being allocated then take that one.

    Maybe because of life commitment and responsibilities of my own, it is difficult for me to justify buying the same car (almost) with a higher price tag. If it comes with better safety features/reliability/better after sale service (but that at times depends on individual staffs/service centres), yes I'd consider, but not for minor upgrades.
    Just my 2 cents.
    Anyway, really appreciate that you always include your height for comparison purpose 😊

      Yes, Veloz and Alza main difference is in the comfort and small touches here and there
      Safety/performance is the same
      The Alza and Veloz both are worth the pricetag, and Alza definitely is sufficient for normal use around town or for daily commute
      If one travels long distance all the time, and spend many hours in the car, then the Veloz would be more comfortable, aside from that, can save the $ and use it elsewhere

      Set up CarPlay
      1. Start your car, then make sure that Siri is on.
      2. Connect your iPhone to your car:
      • If your car supports CarPlay with a USB cable, plug your iPhone into the USB port in your car. The USB port might be labeled with a CarPlay icon or a smartphone icon. Be sure to use an Apple Lightning to USB cable.
      • If your car supports CarPlay both wirelessly and with a USB cable, plug your iPhone into the USB port in your car. An alert on your iPhone will offer to connect you wirelessly on your next drives.
      • If your car supports only wireless CarPlay, press and hold the voice command button on your steering wheel. Make sure that your stereo is in wireless or Bluetooth mode. Then on your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure that Wi-Fi is also turned on. Tap the CarPlay network, and check that Auto-Join is turned on. Then, go to Settings > General > CarPlay, and select your car. Check your car manual for more information

When on highway long long can feel face cold yet legs are hot because next to driver underneath is the exhaust pipe. But it applies to any car also. Just use face only then can always get feet hot later on after an hour or so. 90% of the time I drive my cars all face and feet setting then temperature is quite balanced. Later tried a Aruz and then got difference since perodua put back 5 way. If u have Conti car with full auto aircond you will notice that once cabin is cold, and the fan drops, it also auto give face and feet after starting out on face first

      @@arenavideo424 Cause a lot of people get sensitive that it uses Daihatsu components, and it does make a difference in sales. From a technical view, if the daihatsu design is good, then there's nothing wrong using it.
      Though truly a lot of buyers have a judgemental view towards daihatsu vs toyota.
      Granted, Perodua does have lower quality, but that's due to the parts suppliers, not the design itself.
      Recently the Alza has issues whereas no news at all from the Veloz group, everything seems to be fine
      Turns out the Veloz uses daihatsu thailand parts (thus also adds to the import tax) whereas Alza uses locally sourced parts
      I also believe it's not necessarily that Malaysian capability is bad,
      it all boils down to the costing, need sth cheap, that means compromise in quality

    The middle and 3rd row seats are poor.and uncomfortable.

      Definitely not poor for middle row. If 3rd row not in use, you can push the middle row to the back and sit like a boss. Or you can make it like a bed by combining middle row and last row seat.
      The last row is tight if 7 adults in the car but those who 160cm can sit in 3rd row without struggle. It is small MPV and not comparable to Alphard or Serena which are more spacious but also much pricier.

    Go EV, go BYD Dolphin. Beats this Toyota by miles, in this price range. Enough suckered by Japanese marks.

    • @aeroline11

      Should compare apple to apple, not apple to orange. BYD Dolphin is good but it is 400km range only and in real world maybe 300km and also 2 seats lesser. Those who need small MPV usually have 2 kids or above. Dolphin is just not practical then.

      Though it's very similar to an Alza
      But having used both I can guarantee there's a much better comfort level in the Veloz compared to the Alza
      Veloz doesn't have any Major differentiating factors (such as engine or transmission)
      Yet all the small differences add up to easily 15 or more improvements over the Alza
      However both cars are indeed worth it for the price respective for each model
