I still believe that one day, a reaction to Napoleon's Marshalls will come
It's likely that it will be before the end of the decade! Keep your hopes up!
I hope
He will never do it no matter how much we beg him. Just accept it. I’ve tried to ask him so many times but to no avail.
Sad cus it’s definitely worthy of reacting to.
It's been three years....
It is overdue.
The council thinking they were insulting Napoleon when they called him Ceaser. I bet he loved it.
I didn't think about that lol your right.
He literally was a kind of Caesar 😂
Napoleon must have blushed when he was called Caesar
"woah, this council isn't that bad after all!" *nearly gets stabbed*
“4 more years!… until the marshals series.”
Most requested in the last couple of weeks, I wonder how requested Napoleons marshals is 😂
lol, he has to use “last couple of weeks” as a qualifier. Reckon that Marshals is most requested going back YEARS.
Chris please stop torturing us. GIve us Napoleons Marshalls!
I will never stop hoping for Napoleon’s Marshals.
Chris I beg that you react to their Napoleons Marshalls video and even perhaps their Decembrists coup series as well
I second this harder than it’s possible to second something.
Knowing Napoleon he would've found it very flattering to be compared to Julius Caesar of all people lol
Only thing that might be better is if they called him Alexander.
They also called him Cromwell though
I absolutely am convinced that it was Lucien, not Napoleon, that made the 18 Brumaire Coup what it is in the history books. Literally, the fate of the coup, Napoleon’s career, the course for the French Republic, and the course of not just European history, but in the history of the entire world, ALL of it literally rested on the shoulders of Lucien Bonaparte at that moment when he pressed that sword tip into his brother’s chest.
I’m not trying to downplay Napoleon here, but we can’t overlook how much this day was saved for him by his younger brother. Call it theatrics if you want, but it truly was a performance that changed world history and the fate of the Bonaparte family’s destiny.
Absolutely
Yeah that’s true and an interesting point. Is there any chance Napoleon pre arranged that with Lucien in as a way to try and regain control in case things went wrong?
VTH and Napoleon. My favorite combo!!!
Joseph Fouche is one of the most interesting (and terrible) figures of the revolution. Always has his fingers in everything and probably the most untouchable person through the period.
Lucian was the real MVP here. Not sure how it would have gone down without him.
Always great to see you react to Epic History!
Looks great! Keep up the amazing work! Can’t get enough of these Napoleonic commentary videos. Patiently awaiting Napoleons Maréchals react.
We all are.
Every time the narrator says "Chateau de Saint-Cloud", my brain processes it as "Chateau de sans clue" (franglais for chateau of cluelessness), which makes me chuckle.
Me: I'm a mature and adaptable human being who can handle minor changes in my life
Chris: starts video with 'how's it going everybody' instead of 'welcome back everyone'
Me: *confused screaming
32:00 sounds like Sulla here.
I like the new setup. We need more civil war livestreams!!!! Please please 😄 (I know you’ve been so busy with European travels haha)
The Narator for Epic History has such a soothing yet authoritative voice. I can listen to him for hours
You should watch epic history TV's newest video, it's about one of America's earliest Wars against the native Americans.
Thanks for the shout out, I always love your Napoleonic Era videos! I am a contractor working in Kuwait for the DoD
Napoleons Marshals next please
*Please*
Still waiting for Napoleon's marchalls
Hey Chris, I'd love it if you could react to Mr M History, an Australian youtuber who focuses on Australian political history but also some American and British history.
His video on John Curtin and Winston Churchill's relationship during WW2 is really fascinating.
No Marshals React 😢
Am i the only one who thinks their painting of napoleon kinda looks like Mads Mikkelsen in uniform?
He’d be the perfect casting for a faithful biopic if he can embody the confidence and fearlessness of Bonaparte.
Love the content as always Chris! Very informative and can’t wait to see more! Would love to see some more Roman history!
I really love your channel your like a prime example of how to make reaction content good! I always learn more from your commentary, hope your good :)
The voice acting by epic history makes it sound like a old veteran who is narrating the event that witnessed the event. Obviously that’s 200 years later but the voice acting makes you believe it was a veteran who witnessed it
His name is Charles Nove, that’s what a good voice actor does!
@@britsareweak Charles has the voice of someone who seen shit. Like when I hear other documentaries it sounds robotic and I don’t feel attached but Charles makes you feel your there in the event and he’s witnessed the event personally with his voice acting even though he didn’t.
Murat ( my favorite Marshal BTW) essentially telling everyone to GTFOH would’ve been amazing if it was in the Ridley Scott movie. Also I read in a book about Napoleon there was a few moments where he came very close to meeting the same fate as Julius Caesar.
nice video, glad to see you are doing well.
New set up looks good Chris. Mic is solid.
Oh man, i was waiting for this one! Thank you Chris
Great reaction as always, and Epic History always delivers aswell.
I love the set up Chris. Keep up the awesome work. Love from Oklahoma.
I agree with Beethoven. Napoleon was a weasel that sold out the republic by becoming dictator.
20:24 Almost calls to mind the delay of the Normandy invasion from June 5th to June 6th. Probably one of the few things that could be of comparable anticipation that is then delayed by a short period of time.
Thanks for this. Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone's very much into Napoleonic warfare I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series. That Art of War stuff is mind-blowing. Keep up with the great work! Antonio
YOUR THE BEST VTH I HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR MONTHS ON EVERY VIDEO YOU ARE THE BEST!
epic history also did a video titled americas first defeat about 2 weeks ago which may be worth checking out (after napoleons marshals that is)
Roger Ducos is just happy to be there
Man Epic is so good.
Isn't even a battle, just a conspiracy video and still nailed it.
Bought myself a Napoleon hoodie and some other goods from their store to show the support.
New setup is great man
I love how the French people were accusing each other of being a Cromwell. And of course, you Chris, being the Chris that you are, will inevitably think about what happened with Charles.
Same old Chris ❤
was watching this was waiting for your reaction chris.
This should be a movie so tense and awesome
I really like Bernadotte he always sticked to his code and he knew how to do his job done
Nice reaction and analysis
One figure from this period I'll always love is Tallyrand. Switched sides so often you need a pamflet to keep track of them all.
a very gifted, very intelligent man...but no morality...but that's probably why he survived so long.
Always glad to see the same ol Chris!
Napoleon's Marshalls series. Like everyone else, I'm asking for your reaction to this. The amount of little stories in this is just beautiful.
I definitely love the new setup:)
Looks like a new camera too, like 4k not gona say how i can tell a guy doesn't like time as well lol good stuff
Napoleon firing grapeshot: "Citizens, you are dissolved."
You should react to Lego-Brian Production's alternate history of the USA.
The new microphone sounds good and the lighting is nice.
Excellent new setting and a great video as always. I want to recommend two videos that tell the full story of the RMS Lusitania: "The Incredible Career of RMS Lusitania" and "The Tragic Sinking of RMS Lusitania" on the Oceanliner Designs RUclips channel.
This 40 minutes went by so fast. I need a whole day of this content
The Spanish version of Napoleon’s coup came out and now I get to see you react to it. This is going to be a very fun weekend!
I hope one day you will react on Napoleon Marshal ❤
I can’t wait for Napoleon in Italy Part 2!!!
I am really enjoying the Napoleon's marshals meme comments every time you react to epic history 😅
We’ve got Chris 2.0 over here with a new setup!
Much better quality!!
I AM THE SENATE! Well said brother, another great video!
So excited to watch this!! 😁😁😁
Absolutely loved this! Had already watched the original video, but always love your reactions - adds so much to these kind of videos! ❤🔥
“I pray, if it be God’s will, Chris will react to ‘Napoleon’s Marshals.’”- Stephen Brody Smith, June, 23rd, 2024
I can for sure say that you need to post more
And Lafayette disappeared from the history of France....
the Epic History narrator is awesome
Interestingly, while the Five Hundred threw the name of Cromwell at Napoleon's face, Sieyès and Talleyrand were instead looking for a George Monck, a man of military extraction who would put a lid on the general unrest.
An excellent video
I'm not sure what else Napoleon could do when the political groundwork seemed to have failed. He had done his groundwork and had most of the nearby Military on his side and surrounding the politicians, so when it went sideways he could and did just send them in. I guess they would have preferred a political coup rather than a military one but it was always on the cards. Kudos to them though for at least managing to keep it a partial one and keeping it a relatively bloodless one.
Hey Chris I know you might not know too much about ottoman history but can you watch Kings and Generals first episode of the early ottoman history? It's a very interesting part of history and I think you'll enjoy it
While I’m of course gonna parrot everything said about reacting to Epic History’s Decembrist revolt and Napoleon’s marshals series I’m also gonna suggest looking at naval history like the battle of Jutland, the Malta convoys, sinking of force Z, battle of the North Cape, there are several brilliant videos on the topic here on RUclips.
Would love if you reacted to siege of toulon!
I look at the similarities/differences between the revolutions in Britain and France.
For the glorious revolution England's Parlement has already rejected the idea of an absolute monarch once and executed that monarch's father for treason against the people. Now his son tries the same thing so they depose him using his 'unpopular' decision to convert to become a Catholic- but replaces him with Protestant relations in his daughter and her Dutch husband, it is decided that the politicians needed was a figurehead for the country not a leader.
In France they take a different point of view, the non nobles and cleric's have had no historical power as the 3rd estate because they were always opposed by the first two, but whilst this works in an uneducated age before the reformation there are now educated 'peasants' and they realize that they had the theoretical numbers on their side with 90% of the population.
So they depose the king and a council takes over, but not as yet knowing what to do with this ex-monarch and his familly or the nobility/church. Eventually they come up with the peasants council arrives at the brutal and extreme solution - exterminate the people who previously held the power.....so now the gloves are off and anyone with any ambitions to grab power is now in play.
Unfortunately for France the situation continues after Napoleon exits with the country flirting between democracy and monarch with reinvention of the Republic with each becoming successively weaker during the 19th century till they lose the Franco-prussian war in 1870; contrast this with the power of Britain in that century as the periods only superpower by deem of "owning" the sea lanes and almost a monopoly of world trade control
Would love to hear your thoughts on the Napoleon's Marshals series
Constructive criticism for finetuning: There is a little bit of green lining around you, it shows around your hands the most. It's certainly a greenscreen artifact, and can certainly be fixed either by lighting or software.
Epic history is awesome 🎉🎉🎉
My prayers have been answered 🙏
4:25 From the perspective of Edmund Burke, who has been dead for two years at this point, this is further vindication of what he wrote in 1790 and 1791. Keep in mind that this was before the reign of terror that he wrote his famous Reflections and in that work his main thrust was that the attempt to re-engineer the whole of society, would lead to chaos and tyrannical oppression. Also that in the midst of such chaos there would come a desperate desire for stability, at almost any price, and that is where get the likes of a Bonaparte. In many ways Burke (who was very much a political outcast having stuck with the liberal Whig faction against William Pitt the Younger for the 1780s, only to break with them over the French Revolution) becomes after death far more credible and one of the most influential figures for conservative politics going forward, precisely because the events in France track very closely to what Burke predicted in his writings almost eight years prior.
Napoleon had already committed an atrocity before this, the massacre at Jaffa in March 1799. After a siege the Turkish garrison of the fort of Jaffa surrendered. Napoleon was having trouble feeding his own troops let alone 3000 Turkish troops. He feared that if he just let them go the would move on to the next fort so he lined them up on the beach and forced them into the sea at bayonet point.
I think it's fair to say that napoleon was the closest thing to a Caesar since the person who created the name. He was right comparing himself with Hannibal and the others. It's snagging how close he was to controlling Europe
I don't know if there's a video about the war of Vendée in english, but if so, you should do it
I am once again asking Vth to react to Operation Bagration for its upcoming 80th anniversary
It looked like you had a thought and almost spoke at the point where the narrator said thwarted the quarantine laws.
You need to link your WW1 channel to this channel.
The funniest thing: the worst accusation is not criminal, murderer, corrupt... it is being... paid by the English!!!!
So many similarities to the divisions we see in our country today. We must never return to a time when political violence is seen as inevitable or acceptable. Because each everyday citizen really only has influence over their own side, folks must focus on the radicalization in their own communities and on their own side of the political isle being unafraid to temporarily withdrawl support when things near a turning point. Problem today is we have so much more information but hlaf of it is BS.
I feel the only real use of history besides entertainment and appreciation, is to influence the present and future. We have so much more access to info today than back then so it seems the best way to determine which sources are trustworthy is to read bills proposed and signed, read court transcripts, listen to your opposition, and most importantly approach information from your side with the same level of skepticism and doubt as you do information from the other side.
Does anyone appreciate the irony of Napoleon admiring Rome and Ceaser and yet mimicking an achievement of a man who was a sworn enemy of Rome?
It could've made a great movie, RIDLEY!
"A man does not have himself killed for a half pence a day or for some petty distinction. You must speak to the soul in order to electrify him."
" I would rather fight a coalition than be a part of one."
Love me some Nappy quotes!
Any chance you can look at the Battle of Narva 1700 from HistoryMarche?
what kind of mic did you go with?
Who does he think he is Charles 1st 😂 at least he kept his head I guess
Can you react to ancient Roman history in 20 minutes by arzamas ?
Can we get Napoleon's Marshalls reaction from Epic History?
28:36 didn't he write a romance novel in his teens?
He did.
Murat : ''Messieur, foutez moi tout ce monde dehors!''...best quote!
You should react to the crisis of the third century or more roman history in general.
