  • This is a DIY modification and customization video for installing and building swivel seats on my inflatable boat on a $50 budget. I've researched online for pre-made chairs and I learned that they cost around $150 and up and that's not including the swivel and the base, which can total up to anywhere from $200 to $500. I wanted to see if I can build and install one myself for just $50 using accessories that the boat came with. I hope this video helps, please like and subscribe and let me know if you have any comments and/or questions, thanks!

    Qs, why did you included board? Couldn't you just install base to aluminum seat and swivel to the chair?

    You will need to think of additional support for the original bench, so it doesn’t flip back when you lean on the seat.

      Yes totally agree, for workaround I use milk cart to lean and for support so it doesn't rock back and forth, not ideal so hopefully I can upgrade soon

    Cheap cutting board might last longer than the wood.

      Agreed think I’m going to slowly making some upgrades for sure

      Ngl that’s a brilliant solution

    That's not wood. It's particle board and if it gets wet, it's ruined. I know, hard to imagine on a boat. Something like Baltic Birch (look it up) with several coats of urethane on it is what you want.

    U gonna have to replace that “wood” it’s just glorified cardboard. It’s ok for cheap indoor furniture not so much for outdoor use, once it gets wet it’s a wrap

    Awesome idea. I think I am going to replicate this. Where did you find the bleachers for low price?

    • @Fishing_Fables
      @Fishing_Fables  Год назад

      Glad I could help! I got the bleacher chair from dicks sporting good, was on sale for $19.99 for one and I think it’s $22-24 now but u can find those cheap ones online as well. One thing I do is to put like a milk cart under the seat since chair can rock back and forth a bit if ur seat is facing forward, but if ur sitting sideways not as much. I’ve seen some other mod where u connect two aluminum benches with a long metal piece so both seats don’t rock but a milk cart works fine for me just fyi

      @@Fishing_Fables So is that a milk cart instead of the aluminum benches or milk cart under the aluminum bench?

    • @Fishing_Fables
      @Fishing_Fables  Год назад

      @@philos212 sorry for the confusion, the seat itself is attached to the aluminum seat, then I put the milk cart under the woodboard to avoid rocking (when you're going fast on boat). The milk cart was too high to put under the aluminum seat, just enough to put under the woodboard right under the seat. Hopefully that makes sense. The main point is to stop the seat from rocking so you can use anything that fits. It depends on what type of boat you have too, some boat, the seat can be too high so the milkcart may not fit to support the seat, some boat is lower so it can, mine luckly was the right height for it to fit. If you have a boat with higher seat level, perhaps you can use a different item. But if you're not going too fast on boat, you may not need it, I just experience some rocking so it was just a workaround

      @@Fishing_Fables no problem. That makes sense. Appreciate the response!

    How comfortable are thore seats?

    • @Fishing_Fables
      @Fishing_Fables  2 месяца назад

      They do the job but after a long time of sitting, I often think it'd be nice to have a cushion so my butt and back wouldn't hurt. I think this set up would be good if you go out for a couple of hours but may not be the best more than half a day

      @@Fishing_Fables I see, thank you for sharing. Do you think seats with cushion would be okay in the ocean? Also a question, what do you think of sd365? have you ever launched it by yourself into ocean? I also have inflatable cb330 and I launch from beach, so sometimes I have to carry it
